fibromyalgia

Evillady Is it commen for women 35 years and older to experience problems swolloung liquids or anykind of food when they have fibromyalgia. I have esophageal spasms when i eat or drink at times and the food gets stuck in my throat and wont go down, wont come up. Its really painfull and concerning to me.
Avatar m tn The symptoms of fibromyalgia are aggravated due to poor sleep, high stress, and poor nutrition .There is no single cure for fibromyalgia. Firstly I will advise you to take a good sleep. Take plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink plenty of water every day. Avoid processed foods like white bread, junk food etc. and have whole grain foods. Exercise daily for 30-40 minutes. It will help in burning your calories and alleviating depressive symptoms if any.
Avatar n tn Because they did this in so many different ways I can't tell you which is better, but I can tell you that a stronger body and a stronger more balanced immune system and a diet loaded with the most important nutrients and antioxidants and minus the most common foods associated with inflammation and fatigue can only help. I would suggest that you begin by reading; by now there are many books on fibromyalgia.
Avatar m tn Stopped eating red meat in Nov.07 and have been sleeping very well since. Stopped eating food allergic to but more importantly went on low oxalate diet----stops muscle pain. Calcium citrate caps also aid in ridding body of oxalates. Take probiotics and do not let Candida overgrowth.
Avatar n tn I have fibromyalgia and was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia after many years of suffering with severe pain. I still have pain all the time. It is hard to get of bed some days.
7450908 tn?1390999921 I was diagnosed with fibro about 18 years ago. I've been using Lyrica & was using Cymbalta for a while as well. I quit using the antidepressant because it seemed to make the depression worse. I'm on low income & I'm telling this medication is getting so expensive that I have a hard time affording to buy just a months worth at taking one a day. At certain times of the year I have to take more than one a day. Is there a more natural way to deal with fibro?
710094 tn?1229312306 I'm wary of the ginko biloba, because I have Oral Allergy Syndrome and a list of food sensitivities and allergies a mile long. This involves tree pollen allergies and allergie to tree nuts. IMMUNE26 isn't going to be good for all people. Some of us are sensitive to or allergic to eggs.
Avatar f tn I have Fibromyalgia and can only work three days a week with days in between and have to sleep 12 hours and two short naps during the days off. This year if I do too much during one day, my upper back spasms into a neck/shoulder pain spasm and causes migraine, and I am bedridden. The only thing that provides relief is a hot bath and codeine and 2 muscle relaxants and one gravol. It has only been that bad for one year.
Avatar f tn For my doctor visits before and even now, I write down what I need to ask in advance and prepare a list of any new symptoms and so on (when I think about it) and it helps alot - my appts are much quicker and smoother and I know my dr. appreciates it. Also, Fibromyalgia is new and there are alot in the medical community who think it's a mental disease (which it's not according to the CDC) ask for references for dr's who actually treat the specific diagnosis and start there.
1033336 tn?1252509731 Following then onwards, I have experince pain trobbing at the back, in between the joint of knees, in between the hip joint, upper and lower both of the legs, at the joints of the arms, in between fingers, at the palm of hands and feet. Am i suffering from fibromyalgia? Do i need to do a full body check-up for diagnosis?
325405 tn?1262293778 But my sister has it as a secondary symptom of Lupus. She suggested that if my fingers and toes are cold and white. I should try what she uses. Prescription meds did not help . She did find one OTC that someone mentioned to her and she mentioned it to me I believe I got mine at Wal-Mart or the health food store it's called Astragales seems to be some kind of herb and say suppliment on it.
470168 tn?1237474845 Oh, and I am on both a lupus med and a fibromyalgia med... I am taking Lyrica for the pain, which has been recently approved for fibromyalgia. It knocks a lot of pain out, but I warn you if you aren't on it... it makes you gain weight if you don't watch what you eat. As long as you keep an eye on it, though, you should only gain 5 pounds initially which generally comes off after a few weeks. I am also taking plaquenil, which is used for lupus people.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I have severe back and neck pain. I had back sugery 4 months ago with severe pain in the surgical area again. I also have severe neck pain and stiffness. I have a severe burning pain in my shoulders and neck along with numbness. Avatar n tn I am only 25 and have all the symptoms of fibromyalgia, CFS and MCS. I am unable to get out of bed some days but because of my young age my doctor is not seeming to take me seriously. He tests my thyroid and iron levels and many other things, but has not sent me to a fibromyalgia specialists. Also I have not been able to get disability cheques, so I am on government assistance:(. Does anybody more experienced have any advice for me? This can be quite stressful.
606078 tn?1247268153 So far this morning, I still have not craved a real cigarette. And there hasn't been any food craving. If this works and I believe it's going to I will gladly tell everyone I know about it. Give it a try.
1692515 tn?1306273648 I have been told my mother that at 2 years old I put a bobbie pin in an electrical outlet and she had to get a mop to dislodge me. My question is could my fibromyalgia, reoccuring shingles, and electric shock feeling be caused by this and what can be done to stop it.
358699 tn?1297650042 I have fibromyalgia like painful, stiff muscles specially around my chest cage, skull and foot soles. Can anyone tell me effective cure for this?
Avatar f tn It starts along the outside of my right wrist, extends to the heel of the hand and terminates in the middle finger. The finger seems swollen a bit, and is very painful. I've lost most of the gripping power in that hand. I had carpal tunnel surgery and a trigger finger release on this hand and finger many, many years ago. I also have pain (some days worse than others) in my knees, hips, lower back, elbows, shoulders and neck.
Avatar n tn And please don't tell me to go to God, I have prayed every night and nothing ever happens, as a matter of fact things have only gotten worse-roof leaks and falling in, holes in wall from my teen, dogs poop and pee all over and stains, husband never mows cause he works offshore and too tired, my mom owns this place and keeps threatening to evict us, we have no money-sometimes for food, too, I have extreme anxiety and panic that has developed over the last several years and with unpredictable il
Avatar n tn I got on some more sites and read alot about B-12 (and its different forms). Lots of people with fibromyalgia report numbness and tingling like feelings and I saw where the B vitamins have helped them. I used to take alot of vitamins but as I began other programs I limitted what I took so that my clinical picture was more clear. I also read where most people have a normal blood level of B-12 and folate but the vitamin, whether oral, or sl or inj. really helped.
Avatar f tn A high quality magnesium supplementation also helps with hypothyroid - its food for muscles, the brain and nerves. Anything but Magnesium oxide, which is low quality.
Avatar f tn I sanded my heels, moisturized my entire body every day, and discovered that drinking lots and lots and LOTS of unadulterated water not only made my skin and heels better, but it did a lot of other good things for me. It reduced my appetite, made my food digest better, made my hair and nails healthier, and so on. An example of the physical/emotional/mental/spiritual connection issue is that I knew all of my physical issues were made worse by stress.
5586759 tn?1370438872 I've had Fibromyalgia since I was a teenager and I have gone through one pregnancy already, but at the time I hadn't been diagnosed properly for the ailments that I have. It's now round two, I am pregnant again, and I'm wondering about good suggestions to help maintain lower levels of pain. Last time I was put on bed rest at 8 1/2 months and that was torture for my sciatica nerve. I'm trying to stay active and strong. I've been going through physical therapy and things of that nature.
Avatar n tn Today I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and hip bursitis and tendonnitus in my elbow area. I've had pain in my forearm muscles and joint near my eblow for a few months. It started on the left elbow area and then after about month it suddenly quit hurting and being sure and started up in the right upper are and joint near my elbow. Yesterday when it suddenly started up in my thigh, I thought enough, get to the Dr.
215021 tn?1224886057 RedLabsUSA is a national lab that apparently is able to diagnose both Fibromyalgia and CFS. The test is still a research test at this time. So there is a fibromyalgia - thyroid connection, but there are also people who have been misdiagnosed with fibromyalgia. And on top of that... some fibromyalgia patients can go for years without a fibro-flare.
1943833 tn?1349280189 I have wondered often over the last few years if I have Fibromyalgia, but have never asked a doctor about it because I don't seem to have the tender points. I'm wondering how many of these symptoms are "common" for fibromyalgia. Or maybe CFS? -occasional severe sensitivity to noise. I can be sitting in a room, with people around me and noises I would normally not mind (kids playing, etc) will "hurt". I don't really have a headache, and it's not an actual pain.
Avatar f tn Mannitol and Lactulose urine test. 4. Nutritional deficiencies and tissue mineral deficiencies (not blood test). These deficiencies would be linked to the above. This is enough for now. I don't want to overwhelm you with information. Please check GAPS online for details Of course there are other possibilities, but this stands out more. Do your own research for the rest or consult with a Holistic doctor.
Avatar f tn Yoga, with its low intensity exercise, breathing and meditation reduces the pain, fatigue and sleep problems associated with fibromyalgia. Buy exercise bands and use them for stretching. I have my wife doing this and very light weights for a few years now and it's helped. Take vitamin D3 and take Omega3 oil at least 500mg 2x per day. I would also check for food allergies.
