Avatar f tn I used to get the seasonal flu shots every year, before I found out that I had fibro. Each and every time, I still got sick with the flu. Personally, I no longer get the shots. The decision is based on personal experience and after learning just how toxic those vaccines are. I don't blame your daughter for not wanting to do anything to aggravate the fibro situation either. Fibro flares can be so long and painful.
Avatar f tn I know someone who ended up getting Gullian Barré from flu shots. It was her own conventional doctor who told her this. And, there have been documentaries on news magazine shows with people getting Gullian Barré from flu shots as recently as only three or four years ago. Gullian Barré isn't the only major concern about vaccines, but it is something worth considering if you already have Fibromyalgia. So, yeah, the flu shots still have it.
Avatar f tn He claims that there are ME/CFS/FM patients who relapse after getting flu shots and many of them do not even develop antibodies to the vaccination. The article also says you have to weigh the risks. Do you travel a lot ? Do you work in the medical field or in a school ? If you do, obviously your chances of catching the flu would be higher. So it is quite risky and I think once again, I will choose not to get the flu shot.
Avatar f tn I never get flu shots ever pregnant ir not I've never had one my whole life. I will get the dtap booster though.
Avatar f tn I have never got it and extremely leary of getting the flu shot. It doesn't protect from all strains of the flu and it's putting the dead flu virus into your body and they say pregnant women's immune systems are already compromised because of pregnancy. I disagree when people say you cant get sick from the flu shot. I witness my bEstfriend get extremely sick 3 hours after his first flu shot. I just try to stay healthy by washing my hands, eating right and exercising.
Avatar n tn My midwife is leaving it up to me and I am leaning towards not getting it. I've never had a flu shot before in my life, and I haven't had the flu since I was about 12 years old. I do tend to get bronchitis and sinusitis though, so I am being very careful, and my DH and I are both taking a lot of D3 to boost our immune systems. Do some reading on reliable sites like WebMD and pubmed, and make the decision together with your doctor.
10175413 tn?1427170251 So like the two of you, I choose to take precautions and stay home, if necessary, and wait til tx is done to get the flu shot, especially after seeing that the shot has only about 60% chance of hitting the strain this year.
Avatar f tn Well I heard last night on the news that flu has already started on the east coast. Yay. Personally I don't get flu shots never have. My husband has never had one and our son who will be 3 in November has never had one.
Avatar f tn Thank you! Yeah I plan on asking my Dr. My worries are that I have never had any shots, not even a flu shot. My mother didn't believe in them!? So I'm very confused/ concerned. I don't want to hurt my baby or my self.
Avatar f tn I went to my OB and talked to her about the Flu Shot. She said it was recommended. I actually was nervous to get the shot as well. I disnt want to harm my baby. But when I had my next appt I told her that I might consider getting one. If your pregnant the Flu Shot they will give you isnt the same as what a normal shot would be. It has the chemicals thatare safe for pregnant women. Ask your OB if they give them at the office, that might make you feel better. It did me. Good Luck Mommas!
Avatar f tn Does anyone pregnant before have taken flu shot? I just wanted to get it to be protected for my baby and myself so I don't have to worry about taking medications for cold and flu later.
1717054 tn?1316712653 Not all flu shots are created equal, be cautious about which one you are getting, and talk to your doc about whether it's appropriate for you. "According to the Center for Disease Control, "Manufacturers might use different compounds to inactivate influenza viruses and add antibiotics to prevent bacterial contamination." As with all medical procedures, having a foreign substance injected into your bloodstream involves a certain degree of risk.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone - I am 35 and pregnant with my first child. I have fibromyalgia and asthma. I have worked with children for 10 years and I seem to have no resistance to the bugs the children have. I get everything they have and seem to have no let up from different bugs during the winter time especially. I have just got over a bad virus I caught from the kids (in June) and had a chest infection and had to take an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn Im 36 wks and got it today ;( my arms sore
Avatar m tn only at start of interferon flu shot might be an issue, all other drugs have no issues and of course it is better to make flu shots because in case of flu all drugs are toxic for liver and kidneys (antibiotics, aspirn and so on...
518117 tn?1429276273 I have known of so many people that have taken flu shots over the years and end up getting flu like symptoms from the shot. Plus, I have yet to ever take the pneumonia shot. I not one bit afraid to take a shot. Never been scared of needles. But, I am though afraid of taking shots, that are only going to make me sick. When I am trying to prevent things like flu and pneumonia. To prevent becoming ill to begin with. Then, there is this swine flu that is all in the news, etc.
Avatar f tn Definitely the flu shot. I got mine last week and blacked out twice and felt horrible the next day. Luckily it only lasted that day. Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow.
Avatar f tn MRI with and w/o contrast of head and neck, CT scan of head and EMG/NCT were normal and my reflexes are good. At a loss... Being referred to a rheumatologist but all labs to check for anything rheumatological were normal. All other labs normal too-thyroid, b12, CBC, potassium, etc. Any one else out there like me?
Avatar n tn I'm 35 weeks +2 and at my last visit my doctor suggested that I should have the FLU and Pertussis Shot . I've always known for ppl to become sick after getting these shots . What do you all think?
Avatar m tn I deal with heart arrhythmias like all of you and I really worry when the flu season comes. I am scared to get a flu shot thinking my heart will go crazy on me and possibly lock up. Have any of you ever had problems with the flu shots before? One other thing. I have been through all the testing and been told i'm normal, but the truth of the matter is to me, is that anyone who experiences iregular beats of their heart like this is not normal.
