Exercise daily for 30-40 minutes. It will help in burning your calories and alleviating depressive symptoms if any.

4861077 tn?1360159739 This may not have anything to do with the fibromyalgia and may be due to carpal tunnel or tendon problems. If you work and have a repetitive job, your hand and wrist problems may be because of that. Your doctor will be able to check out your hands and determine whether nerve conduction tests would be appropriate to find out if there is any carpal tunnel problems.
Avatar m tn I have found a lot of relief from massage therapy utilizing myofascial release, hot baths, stretching and light exercise, stress reduction and eliminating sugar.
Avatar n tn I have fibromyalgia and was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia after many years of suffering with severe pain. I still have pain all the time. It is hard to get of bed some days.
Avatar f tn He said that there is really nothing that you can do about it besides go to physical therepy and exercise, and take all my vitamins. But one thing I couldn't get him to understand is that I'm not even able to hardley get up out of the bed, much less evercise. You just cant get these doctors to understand anything, and get this he told me that there is no medicine at all that would help.
Avatar n tn Although there is no cure for fibromyalgia, home treatment can relieve some of the symptoms. Fibromyalgia pain is muscle pain and the most important therapy for muscle pain is regular, gentle and low-impact exercise. It keeps muscles conditioned and healthy and decreases the amount of discomfort. It is very important to try low-stress exercises such as walking, swimming, water aerobics, and biking rather than straining exercises such as weight training. Heavy exercises worsen the symptoms.
Avatar f tn apparently you havent read too many of the threads. I've not see anyone give medical advise. we share our experiences. there are quite a few people on here who seem to know more about fibromyalgia and CFS then most M.D. most people on here do not want "sugar coating" but the truth and as sad as it is there are people with fibromyalgia and CFS that are in wheelchairs..
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, all that my doctor tells me to do is Exercise, and it's not working ( I don't really think she knows about Fibromyalgia). I was wondering if you could tell me anything that would help with my fibromyalgia symptoms. Some of my symptoms include: severe fatigue, severe pain and muscle soarness, headache, flu - like feeling all the time.
Avatar m tn every medicine I had been put on has been problems and I have been taken off all for Fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, and arthritis. Now, my right eye is getting fuzzy, not every day, but more days all the time. My doctor has said although I need back surgery, be careful doing that because it will possibly make your fibromyalgia worse. Will I ever be able to try medicines again? I have an allergy from them...swollen tongue and throat type but, can that ever change???/ Thanks.
Avatar f tn They can eliminate all the other rheumatoid and autoimmune disorders and confirm a fibromyalgia diagnosis. They will also be able to prescribe meds that will effectively treat your symptoms. Don't give up until you find the combo that works right for you. I've had fibro my whole life and have had to fight to get any relief. Hot baths and heating pads are my best friends.
Avatar f tn But I think that I am finally going to get some help because my doctor has made me an appointment with with a doctor( Charles Lapp ) he is in north Carolinia. He is supoposed to be a Specialist and one of the best about dealing and treating Fibromyalgia. I hope you can understand all of this. Also yes my doctor has checked my vitiamin D level and it was low she put me on medicine. Also she put me on vitamin B shots.
Avatar n tn I have had fibro for many years, and symptoms like this seem to come and go in cycles. If you keep experiencing them, tell your primary dr, and see if he recommends a cardio checkup. Better safe than not. Just because you have fibro, doesn't mean other things can't go wrong.
358486 tn?1294779988 One more reason thought to be implicated in post surgery fibromyalgia is ..... the neck is hyper-extended while doing the intubation and this constitutes a neck injury! Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn I still use it and the 2nd one I double it with, but I don't drag it around like a blankee anymore. There's exercise - very graduated. There's the dysautonmias and related treatments. Accupture, chinese herbs, massage, special joint strengthing exercises, homopathic, diet changes, all have helped for some people. Then there's the real alternative stuff like removing all mercury fillings (only fits a small % of people), and stuff I dont' remember because it's not right for me.
Avatar f tn I also take Lyrica for nerve pain, Trazadone and Flexeril at night to help with sleep and muscle spasms, and I am on Zoloft and bloodpressure meds. I went a long time with no pain meds then to Tramadol then to Lortab, etc.... I have very high pain levels on a daily basis plus I have a high tolerance to meds so the weaker ones never worked well for me. The meds I am on now help more than anything else ever has and I am so thankful! I still have pain but it is a lot easier to deal with now.
Avatar f tn I also take Pepogest for constipation. For anxiety I take Lorazapam occasionally and I go the gym 2-3 times per week and do an exercise program in the warm water. It helps the pain as well. I also get B12 shots monthly for fatigue. If it is fibromyalgia trying to limit stress on your body and spirit is crucial. Figuring out your triggers is key. The best to you and keep us posted on what you find out.

I would love to continue to hear from both of you with respect to your programs, weight loss, suggestion, and support. That is why we are here and I would love to keep it going.
3202069 tn?1345408082 I go to an Integrative doctor Steve Windley. I would say that Diet and exercise help the most. Stretching is very important. My doctor told me that alot of Carbs cause the body to be inflamed. I also know that soda causes me to hurt all over. I get tightness in my legs and calves. I used to have alot of shoulder pain. I have tried many types of medicine to help with the pain. I take a muscle relaxer in the evening at times to help me sleep.
1550149 tn?1340004330 In primary fibromyalgia (also called idiopathic fibromyalgia) the causes are not known, and in secondary fibromyalgia the causes can be identified. Primary fibromyalgia is the more common form. Many experts believe that fibromyalgia is not a disease but rather a chronic pain condition brought on by a constellation of dysfunctional biologic responses to stress. Such individuals are thought to be more susceptible to stress because of traumatic personal histories, genetic factors, or both.

Avatar n tn Does fibromyalgia & scardosis have any connections? I had scardosis 20 years ago & have just been dx with fibromyalgia. I hate meds & I exercise but it is hard & more painful every day. I have always been very active & my husband & I travel alot but now I can hardly sit in the car for more than 1 hour w/o my hips, arms & legs in alot of pain. Other health issues: astma, hypertension & allergies. All started in early & late thirties.
Avatar f tn Alternative treatment for fibromyalgia include exercise (non-aerobic), nutrition, stress, massage, acupuncture, soft tissue manipulation, Pilate's and Yoga and those types of non traditional medicine are considered beneficial for some Fibro ppl. For others they feel traditional medicine offers a more beneficial approach such as medications, PT and Pain Management Therapist. And for still others a combination of the two seem to provide the most relief.
