Fibromyalgia and diet soda

Common Questions and Answers about Fibromyalgia and diet soda

fibromyalgia

Avatar f tn Perhaps instead, their blood sugar levels are not kept where they were prior to switching to diet soda and so they are unconsciously consuming more food that probably has more calories in it than the soda would have had in it. So after drinking diet soda, they still have their hankering for sugar and so they accompany their calorie free soda with 300 calories of chips or a 280 calorie snicker bar.
Avatar f tn This is not a question, but sum info that may help u all!!!! *hugs* Kent Holtorf, MD for Holtorf Medical Group Center for Endocrine, Neurological and Infection Related Illness in Torrance CA said "we're at the point now where we know diet plays a role in this disease---it's just not the same diet for everybody. And not everybody is helped in the same way".
3202069 tn?1345408082 I go to an Integrative doctor Steve Windley. I would say that Diet and exercise help the most. Stretching is very important. My doctor told me that alot of Carbs cause the body to be inflamed. I also know that soda causes me to hurt all over. I get tightness in my legs and calves. I used to have alot of shoulder pain. I have tried many types of medicine to help with the pain. I take a muscle relaxer in the evening at times to help me sleep.
Avatar f tn In a nutshell, she was being poisoned by the Aspartame in the diet soda...and literally dying a slow and miserable death. When she got to Florida March 22, all she had to take was one pill, and that was a pill for the Aspartame poisoning! She is well on her way to a complete recovery. And she is walking! No wheelchair! This article saved her life. If it says 'SUGAR FREE' on the label; DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
Avatar n tn I followed the protocol in KT's book and began my diet on the third day but Dr. Simmeon's protocol says to gorge for 3 days and then begin the diet. I don't know why there is a day difference in the protocols. Also I noticed that DR. Simmeon says to eat white fish but in KT's book he is specific about the white fish being halibut, Chilean sea bass, flounder or sole. Is anyone following just Dr. Simmeon's protocol and if so are you eating other white fish like orange roughy or tilapia?
1852058 tn?1320162300 myself wiht that one because I do like to drink Diet soda, so I completely eliminated it from my diet for about 4 months and noticed absolutely no difference, and also didn't notice any difference when I added it back in. I do sometimes have trouble with caffeine if I've had too much - one or two cups of coffee in the morning is usually ok, but if then I also have tea or soda later in the day that has caffeine, I usually will end up having more problems.
Avatar m tn Pre-diabetic - last year Low potassium - told to take magnesium - this year High B6 - don't take supplements (I didn't back then) - last year Low calcium - this year My diet is an organic and wholefood diet. I eat lots of meat, dark leafy greens, rice, fruit, etc. I drink plenty of water and I barely drink soda. My coffee intake is limited to a few cups in the morning and none past 11:00am. This year I've been taking a multivitamin because different doctors will tell you different things.
Avatar n tn No joke, it has taken me 3 months, to lose 3 stinkin' pounds. I started at a 1200 calorie diet and dropped down to a 900 and work out (kickboxing class) 3 times a week (for an hour) and sweat my BUTT and yet I still managed to gain weight!!! I really don't eat meat so I wonder if this is my problem. I will eat chicken when I do this diet but not real happy about it. I just don't like meat.
251922 tn?1193786078 As for exercise I want to do more but I battle CFIDS and Fibromyalgia because of that my muscles are all really tight and there isn't much energy in them, so they don't stretch like most peoples. A lot of times when I walk a mile or two I can pay the price for it big time. I have very little adrenal function so I can't tolerate much. I also never know from day to day.
Avatar n tn I just would like to know if Diet Coke (or any other diet soda) has raised anyone else's blood sugar levels. Diet Coke is always listed as a "free food," so the possibility of Diet Coke raising my blood sugar saddens me greatly. ***Is it true that the aspartame contained in Diet Coke might actually raise blood sugar levels (I think I read this a long time ago in an informational brochure but did not think twice about it since my blood sugar levels were great at the time)?
1550149 tn?1340004330 As you can see, the important hormones needed for digestion are stimulated by the presence of protein and fatty acids (fats) in the diet. On the other hand sugars and high carbohydrates that are present in foods going into the small intestines, and which contribute to elevated blood glucose, actually inhibits gastric secretions, which interferes with the digestion of proteins and fats.
Avatar f tn The key for me was drinking lots of water, no soda, ibuprofen as needed for inflammation, and combining Cymbalta with Lyrica. Without that combo, I literally could not get out of bed!
449658 tn?1211307922 The other thing i'm going to try is givng up aspartame of all sorts. I used to drink one diet soda a day and chew 3-4 pieces of sugar free gum a day. I found lots of discussion online about aspartame poisoning - i'm hoping that this helps me feel better. Thanks agian for your help!
Avatar n tn which was written by a person who cured himself of Crohns disease through his diet. The Paleo Diet which is basicly eating fruits and vegetables has shown good results in treating all these neurological diseases but many would rather go to the doctor and get a pill so they can continue doing what they have been doing. I am reminded of the saying if you keep doing what you always did you will keep getting what you always got.
182493 tn?1348056515 For the last 4 years I’ve been using nutrition—Intravenous and oral—to rebuild and repair the biochemistry pathways in the body and mind. Over four years experience —this includes heroin, and all other street drugs, alcohol, and prescription medications--has taught me that natural detox works 100 times better than detox formulated and predicated by the use of other mind altering chemicals.
Avatar f tn I would like to have a good nutrition intake so that I can be as healthy as possible so that I can manage my Fibromyalgia. I have tested anemic and hypoglycemic in the past but I have been at good levels lately. I take Shaklee daily vitamins whenever I can afford it. I drink 2 cups a coffee a day which helps the fatigue but seems to increase my pain symptoms, muscles seem tighter. I seem to have a slight dye allergy, specifically to red and yellow drinks.
Avatar n tn Aspartame could be soemthing. i only drink diet sodas such as Sierra mist free and diet sprite. i drink fresca also but i havent checked on the ingredients for it yet. No more of them for me. I usually only drink them because some more of my symptoms are dry mouth and eyes and almost everything else. Water doesnt help alone so i guess whatever is in the soda's helps my mouth stay wet a little bit more.
Avatar n tn Hi i am 35 yo transgender male and im on Hormone Therapy for the lat year and 10 months.I am diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Bipolar,PTSD, Borederline Schizophrenic, neurothopy on my left side of my body including my fsce frok Bells Palsy, Hemopleguc Migraines,Short Term Memory Loss and had stomache and pelvic pain for the last 6 months 3 months ago I had a Colonoscopy upoer and lowerand a stool sample done.
Avatar f tn I found out that I am low on calcium and omega and everything else including selenium (accept vitamin C and H) is on the border +/-. How is this possible when I eat healthy and I take vitamin/minerals supplements? I even thought I should stop using supplements for a while because i don't want to get overdose. Is it possible that tea can affect vitamin/mineral absorption? I don't consume coffee or sugar for months for anxiety reasons.
Avatar n tn Yes, I too lost alot of weight. I've lost about 50 lbs in 6 months. One reason for me is because I would go through the withdrawals about once a month, when I would run out of my script. That of course meant I wouldn't eat during that time and I would spend alot of time in the bathroom. :) Folks were always asking me what "diet" I was on. If they only knew! I can guarantee none would want to go on that kind of diet!
1178705 tn?1263939738 I also keep myself on a whole foods diet and restrict my meat intake. I can not stress how much your daily diet will affect your over all well being if you have fibro!!! But that is rant for another day. Have you tried bengay on your tender points? Are you taking motrin or tylenol? Warm showers? Yoga? (it's awesome!) If you have any questions please ask!!!
Avatar n tn before you start, what he thinks about your diet and execise abilities. Start slow on exercise and add to your program a little each week. It truly is very hard to lose weight when the thyroid is Hypo and not stable so don't beat yourself up over slow loss of weight. The change still is doing you good though you may not see the results you want. Don't weigh in every day because there could be too many fluxuations. Pick one morning a week to weigh yourself.
Avatar n tn I was already on Wellbutrin 150 mg twice a day and a diet, by the way,and struggling with depression over my weight. Two years later, I am at 200 mg per day of Topomax, headache free with no change in the flavor that I can apprciate. I am also wearing a size 6 working to a size 4. One caution. If you have anorexic tendencies, as I do, be very careful. I forget to eat, don't want to eat, strive for that smaller size, although everyone tells me that that is enough weight loss.
Avatar n tn If you are like me i always had cravings for doughnuts and icecream and energy drinks and soda i also have a portion control problem. the book i refered you to is perfect because you get to see alot of food you can still have soda just like fresca or sprite or gingerale. also if you are a snacker try eating sweeter fruit like cantaloupe it works wonders for the sweet tooth.
Avatar n tn read the book with loss cure they dont want u to know about by kevin trudeau even though the hcg is the best option with a specific diet to go along with it, u can replace the hcg with another diet and it works just as fine and keeps u healthy and works just as fast.
Avatar n tn I've been suffering from severe Fibromyalgia for the last 5 years which has taken me from a marathon runner and athlete to a couch potato. Perhpas just having so much sitting around time (not to mention pain) has put more attention on the things. But they really are so unsettling, and clearly have gotten worse as I've hit my 50's.
Avatar n tn All I needed to do was to change my diet. I drank lots of water and only water. I ate green vegetables and nuts. Basically everything that is allowed on the candida diet (google it). I also took a few supplements like acidophilus, white oak bark, slippery elm, dandylion seed, gluten defense, moducare, and aloe vera juice. Five months later and I am feeling fantastic. A full recovery. I am feeling better than I have ever felt, ever.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed a few years back with collagenous colitis and have to watch my diet and make sure I have enough fiber every day, but that is nothing new. Any information you all have is greatly appreciated!
483733 tn?1326802046 I don't normally have a problem with aspartame, but I do have definite problems with MSG and avoid it whenever absolutely possible. When I first read about the "link" between aspartame and fibro, I did eliminate it from my diet for about 6 months.
285045 tn?1253644928 If you experienced mold, a physical inner cleansing, strengthening program and healthy diet may help get back to normal. However, a jerk can also occur with returning back to the body after astral travelling. I am surprised that in this discussion not more consider a more spiritual cause, which also includes tingling, ringing of the ears, and jerking of the body, etc.
