fibromyalgia

Avatar n tn A generalized muscle tenderness and aches would go more in favor of fibromyalgia. However, in your case the pain in only in arms and legs. Fibromyalgia cannot be ruled out. You must however look for causes of peripheral neuropathy like those associated with diabetes, hypothyroidism, chronic involvement of liver or kidney, chronic alcohol use. Vascular pathologies like atherosclerosis, deep vein thrombosis too should be ruled out.
Avatar m tn All have quickly said it is alcohol related, but no one has an explanation of the joint and muscle pain. Now I have been sent to a pain specialist. I say I am willing to accept it if it is all alcohol related, but maybe I am not because I also think something is missing. I have read a lot about a lot on line because I don't do much else due to the discomfort. Fibromyalgia would seem to be a likely possibility but no m.d has mentioned it, yet have prescribed Lyrica.
Avatar f tn I also take Lyrica for nerve pain, Trazadone and Flexeril at night to help with sleep and muscle spasms, and I am on Zoloft and bloodpressure meds. I went a long time with no pain meds then to Tramadol then to Lortab, etc.... I have very high pain levels on a daily basis plus I have a high tolerance to meds so the weaker ones never worked well for me. The meds I am on now help more than anything else ever has and I am so thankful! I still have pain but it is a lot easier to deal with now.
Avatar f tn It happened yesterday morning and today I am so tired and worried. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and believe these symptoms are related. What do you think?

Avatar f tn I’ve worked out that if I eat sugar, cream, fats, alcohol and some medication I’m ill. It lasts up to 2 days each time and symptoms are not the usual hives, sickness or diarrhoea but a hangover/morning sickness, nausea, brain fog, poisoned feeling through my veins and my eyes go yellow. I’ve ruled out : fibromyalgia, bad gut health, menopause, mental health and anxiety as I’ve tried treatments for most but no luck.

This year if I do too much during one day, my upper back spasms into a neck/shoulder pain spasm and causes migraine, and I am bedridden. The only thing that provides relief is a hot bath and codeine and 2 muscle relaxants and one gravol. It has only been that bad for one year.

Avatar f tn Cirrhosis is the last stage of scarring of the liver caused by many forms of liver diseases and conditions, such as hepatitis B or C, chronic alcohol abuse and many other conditions. Your medical issues appear to have nothing to do with liver disease. The blood tests you posted related to the liver (AST, ALT) are within the normal ranges. For more information about your liver it is best to talk to your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have endometriosis, fibromyalgia, IBS, and severl upper GI problems in which are not significant. I have been told that the fibromyalgia is not causing the muscle spasms/jerking or the abdominal pain. Effect on me: I have to rely on a walker many days. Sometimes I am unable to walk to the bathroom by myself. The spasms get so severe I end up on the tips of my toes. I have had to withdraw from school, take leave from work, and my husband has been caring for my children.

Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with herniated disks, bone spurs in right shoulder and cervical spine. I also have a blown disk in lower spine. I am 71 years old and outside of the pain issue, I am pretty healthy. The only med I am required to take is Synthroid. I have recently been experiencing pain that seems to be related. It starts along the outside of my right wrist, extends to the heel of the hand and terminates in the middle finger. The finger seems swollen a bit, and is very painful.
573297 tn?1304709140 Does anyone have both dx and yet their pdoc doesn't believe them? I got diagnosed like 8 years ago I think (kind of don't remember...the exact time) but now this year I get dx of bipolar and my pdoc doesn't believe I have fibromyalgia...I know I have the pain....and it feels like it is coming back, and if so this is the fourth flare up (one lasting two years, one lasting 6 months to a year, one was three months because of the depo-provera shot) what do I do to get taken seriously?
Avatar n tn I had the same problem with alcohol and was able to quit 24 years ago...but had back surgery and thats when norco was introduced in my life. I really enjoyed the high and pain relief. I also had fibromyalgia and finally got pain relief from that too....well now I've created a monster. I've been taking them since 2008 and am taking a average of 4-5 per day. I want out...what do you two recommend? Are you clean now? Did the tapering work? I'm also concerned about anxiety...

470168 tn?1237471245 t the brightest in the world, but they care about their patients and actually spend time with you instead of trying to kick you out the door in 15 minutes or less. Oh, and I am on both a lupus med and a fibromyalgia med... I am taking Lyrica for the pain, which has been recently approved for fibromyalgia. It knocks a lot of pain out, but I warn you if you aren't on it... it makes you gain weight if you don't watch what you eat.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last March. Since then and after trying few different prescription(Neurontin, Cymbalta) I decided I didn't like the way they made me feel and started researching what nutritional supplements could help. I resorted to taking supplements and saw my energy level and some symptoms improve. About 4-6 weeks, I have tingling (pin & needles) in my feet going up my legs and hands. My rheumatologists suggested I see a neurologist, to rule out MS.
Avatar m tn I have recurring migraines and found a new commonality that might help in solving them. Prior to, during, and after the migraine I have severe cracking (crackling, popping) in my neck. I have been trained to do neck exercises by pain management and I did then last week, it resulted in a 3-day migraine where pain went from left side and neck to right side and when worse it's usually behind my eye or temple area. Its not as severe when in back of my head.
