975514 tn?1325001538 My PA now has advised me that women with fibrocystic breast disease don't always develop breast cancer, but are at a higher risk than most women. He wants me to get annual breast mammograms, but the communication just isn't there because I can't afford to tell him how bothersome these symptoms really are. I was told not to mess with my nipples, but the pressure builds up and it hurts. If I don't squeeze my nipple to release the milk or whatever it is, it causes pain.

Avatar n tn I went to the breast clinic, and they did a breast examination, and determined that I do not have breast cancer. For some reason, I don't believe the doctor. I have had this pain for many months now, and would really like to know what it is. My left breast has one spot, on the side under my armpit where it hurts. I haven't found a lump, but when I touch the side of my breast, i feel a hardened area, and it hurts when I push on it. Anybody has any idea what this could be?

Avatar n tn Hello. I have rarely done BSE's, have very small breasts and always considered myself to be in the "lowest risk" group for breast cancer. No family history of BC. Small breasts. Breastfed both of my babies for 1 year, etc. I am 44 y/o. The month before last, during my period, I noticed quite a large "lump" or mass (maybe an inch in diam.) in the upper outer quadrant of my right breast.
Avatar f tn Was on homone replacement from that time on until I decided I wanted to go off due to having fibrocystic breast and later on pain from armpit to nipple. Fortunately the news came out about the bad side of hormones and i was able to convince my Dr. to let me quit but with nothing to replace the hormone,. Will look into what was suggested.
1144849 tn?1395458766 A strong case can be made that your iodine RDA should be closer to what the Japanese consume daily, if breast cancer rates are any indication. Low iodine can lead to fibrocystic breast disease in women (density, lumps and bumps), hyperplasia, and atypical mammary tissue. Such fibrocystic changes in breast tissue have been shown to reverse in the presence of iodine supplementation after 3-4 months.

Avatar n tn I have had severe testicular pain for the past two months. The pain is occuring on my right testical. My urologist has tried two types of antibiotics on me - doxycycl and cipro - but it hasn't resolved the pain. He also drained fluid with a needle to relieve some of the pressure. The ultrasound shows a small cyst. The pain is really noticable when I walk, which makes me believe it is on a location that is connected to tendons or something that connects the scrotum to the leg.

Avatar f tn The surgeon went over my imaging.. and did a breast exam and was convinced it was fibrocystic changes and duct ectasia causing the slight retraction.. I pushed for another biopsy anyways and it came back "possible papillary" so now I have surgery and now the surgeon is "fairly certain" it's a papilloma (not very reassuring since he seemed fairly certain it was fibrocystic and duct ectasia) so, I'm scared as hell I have cancer..
Avatar n tn You are right that links exist between iodine and other health issues such as fibrocystic breast disease and others. But as far as I know the jury is not in yet. Numerous scientifically based studies on large numbers of people must tell the story. I won't be a guinea pig for any kind of iodine trial (nor would I let anyone I cared about). The risks are too great when you have thyroid disease, (and especially when you have a family history of it as I have) as I have previously explained.
Avatar f tn //www.************ Also, there is strong evidence that iodine/iodide deficiency leads to fibrocystic breast disease, which then leads to breast cancer. Likewise, iodine/iodide deficiency leads to ovarian cysts, which in turn can lead to ovarian cancer. I HAD both fibrocystic breasts as well as ovarian cysts. Since I becan taking the iodine pills, they are both GONE and have been gone since about May 2011!
