Avatar m tn These medications all help to relieve short term symptoms of allergic reactions. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot. Ranitidine is taken in gastritis or gastro esophageal reflux disease. It is histamine H2-receptor antagonist that inhibits stomach acid production. It won’t have any effect in decreasing an allergic reaction.
Avatar n tn What is better for allergies allegra or claritin? Whats stronger Loratadine or Fexofenadine?
Avatar f tn I'm thinking more on the lines of a parasite or worm. Siting in GP's office now in hopes of some answers and different tests. I need someone to look outside the box and stop telling me I look healthy. Because this is not normal. I work in health care and my husband works at a state insatution for mentally challenged. Who knows the things and people you come incontact with. Loose stool and some joint pain to add to the list of symptoms.
Avatar m tn Hi Martin, Can you please tell me who advised you to use otrivin nasal drops for such a long time. You have developed a condition called "Rhinitis Medicamentosa". It can be treated with oral and topical steroids only, along with oral antihistaminics (such as Cetrizine/ Fexofenadine). Any more doubts you are welcome.
Avatar n tn i have been taking fexofenadine and use triamcinolonne acetonide cream but nothing seems to help. I cant sleep or sit still. I scratch until i bleed and then the hives turn into little scabs all over my body.

Avatar m tn Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.
Avatar n tn 120mg) to have for one month. My course ends round about 25 september 2011. My nose blockage is getting better (one nasal passage is open most of the time) but I have also developed slight phelgm in my throat (i.e throat mucus). Should I be concerned and what should I do ???
Avatar f tn I had physical symptoms that sound similar to yours!!! I ended up with a hole in my septum but no other long term effects. I would try not to worry too much until you see the ENT! Its great that you have stopped for a month now! Have your physical symptoms gotten any better now that you arent using? Stay off of it now that you have a month!!! Its a dangerous drug that psychologically just wants to keep pilling you back in!! Keep posting and let us know how you are getting on!!!
7163794 tn?1457366813 myself to get up? Is this in my head, or is it possible there are long term effects to pain meds and suboxone use? Could it just be me? Has anyone else felt this?
214255 tn?1205635636 My doc suggests that according to studies, long term use at a stable level, followed by long term taper has the lowest relapse rates. So with me he has me on the same dose as the beginning and we will start to taper 1mg per month for 16 months. The positive thing about doing it this way is that I have been able to work a strong NA/AA program and that likely will give me enough tools over time to handle the taper and emotional stuff by then.
Avatar n tn pill to start and then 1/4 of a pill every other day and see how he acts on it. He is saying to keep him on it long term with the 1/4 of a 5 mg every other day if it looks like it agrees with him and makes him feal better. Is this a good idea or will it cause any long term health problems?? My vet says it wont at such a small dose. What do you think . Would realy like a second opinion. Should I just give him small bit of aspirin at times ?
