Due to medical problems I have been on pain medication for at least 30 years, I am 60 at this time, 5 weeks ago had 2nd knee replacement, I have tried many times to get off Methadone, I usually run out before prescription is due and suffer severe w/d. Like everyone else I do not want to be tied to this drug, it is the worse, I have been on it about 5 years.
But you can give a cat fentanyl patches or other opioids why the difference between those and oxycontin
But I noticed that these are only the days when I am close to being out of my medicine, Actiq or fentanyl lolli-pops! They were a God send at first but over 5 years later, more than 50 surgeries to replace my urinary tract and my "man plumbing". I have had a supra pubic cath, a couple of urinary stints in the ureter and I could go on and on. I am now taking up to 10 - 1600mcg of the fentanyl lolli-pops, the max dose that lately doesn't work as well.
If you get worried about not feeling movement, try ice pops! I keep a box in the freezer during the summer and every time I eat one she gets kicking haha. They are cheap and good when you're hot, so just a friendly suggestion!
Ok so I have seen a lot of women that swear by preggie pops. I was looking online as to where sells them. but upon looking at each stores site they all say not sold in stores and to order them online. Are there any stores that actually sell them in store??
The wrist pops ALOT.. doing all sorts of different things. The elbow also pops alot (with alot of cracking sounds). The wrist is also inflammed all the way around. This has been going on for about 2 years. The pain does decrease quite a bit when I dont do anything with it (no sports,etc). I am a computer progammer so this is difficult. Any suggestions would be very helpful!!
ve gin gins from whole foods but they were so awful I spat it out. I bought some preggie pops and they work for a short amount of time. I was wondering if there something out there that any of you have tried that seems to help control the nausea for more than half an hour. I havent make my pregnancy public at work and I'm struggling to keep this nausea under the radar.
So I just heard of these preggie pops..? Can I get them like at Walgreens or do I have to order. Them off line...?
I was never much for sweets, but vanilla ice cream, ice pops, and snow cones are weekly for me ha! My girl is also so active. I'm 20w. Now I want a tigers blood snow cone... thanks.
You can do this Mike. Day 21 was awsome. That was when my sleep got better and energy came back, at least some. Just try to prepare yourself for the bumpy days to come....it's not that long of a time when you put it in perspective. Have patients and faith that it gets better like everyone says. Yesterday I would have caved. Today I was alone with Fentanyl pops 12 inches away from me and I didn't come close. It really felt like a breakthrough.
I am going to get off the Fentanyl patches and put on Methadone using Suboxone as a bridge

If the pain is still there, obviously the Fentanyl is not working and you need to address what is actually happening. Fentanyl CAN relieve pain, depending...
It also dopes up your mind and body. You have no way of knowing this until you can think clearly and the Fentanyl prevents that clear thinking.
Find out what is really going on and GET OFF THE FENTANYL, THIS STUFF IS DANGEROUS!

I blindly went along with my doctor prescribing the Fentanyl patch along with other meds for BT pain. I realized the Fentanyl had a lot of negative things for me (like increase in sugar intake, nodding off when I stopped doing anything, no short term memory.) Do a search on Fentanyl here and see what people have gone through with it.
Personally I think it should only be used for end of life pain. If you have reason to think you won't ever come off it, then it would be okay.
So I would just discuss with your doctor the fact that the fentanyl is no longer working. I have heard that fentanyl tends to work a lot longer than longer acting opioids in pill form before effectiveness begins to wane.
The options that your doctor will most likely present to you are, an increase in fentanyl (which will require wearing a couple of patches versus just one), an increase or change in breakthrough pain medication and/or an addition of a long acting medication in pill form.
The fentanyl should manage your pain much more effectively than the methadone... well I believe it will based on my personal experiences. And I have never taken opana, so I am not sure how much it would help. Good Luck.
