My insurance company recently switched fentanyl from Tier 1 to Tier 3. Their claim is that there are cheaper (to them) drugs available. I use a 100 and 25 patch plus "break out" drugs. Any suggestions?

The Medicare Advantage plan has paid for my claims in the past, but now they are only paying for 1 unit of Fentanyl instead of the 6 units. Dilaudid is not controlling my pain at all and I don't have a life right now. I feel like I have been put on a shelf to watch life go by. I need to know how to get my insurance co to pay for 2 claims from last year and allow me to get back on Fentanyl. The code is J3010 for billing purposes.

I have been on the Mylan Brand patch now for 7 years, just recently changed to the Johnson&johnson brand due to having no insurance, because the Mylan were $270 per month and the J&J are at no cost to me. I'm having a hard time finding this brand in any drug store in my area. I live in Southern Maine, South Berwick, Maine to be exact. Do you know what pharmacies in my area have this brand of Fentalyn Tr. P 75 mcg? Thank you, M.

I have been reading articles online about it and what it does is convert top brand drugs to generics. Then you type in your zip code and it will locate a pharmacy where you can purchase your prescriptions at low cost. Has anyone tried this site? What do you think?

I know I'm not loosing it. To send a message to someone on a discussion, you have to copy a code. If you can't get the code correct, you don't get through. Again, I don't understand how to read or put the code down correctly. O really hope I'm making sense.

s to the point now where he can quit the pills completely (taking one a day ... will tell him to do 1/2 for three days then off). He also is down to a 50 Fentanyl patch. Next week he is going to go down to the 25 patch. He's been on the patch for over 10 years. Now the doctor will pretty much do whatever hubby wants him to do as far as getting off of the patch...what I need to know is if anyone knows of a way to get off of them without C/T because that is too dangerous for hubby.

The last several times I have tried to send a PM I continue to get a incorrect code when I know Im typing it in right.. I have tried restarting my computer and then logging out of the site and them logging back on.. I keep getting the same letters and the same problem each time.. What's going on?? I was on these before the Fentanyl but like everyone does, they aim to be pain free, hence the reason I moved up to Fentanyl (also Butrans affected my joints). Fentanyl totally twisted my mind.....took me about 3 months to realise I wasn't actually mental - it was the Fentanyl ...... there starts my tapering story. Anyway - within about 2 hours of changing from my last 12mg patch to a 20mg Butrans, the old w/ds kicked in........

Thank you for your input. Until about 2 months ago the Fentanyl patches controlled my pain very welll at 100mcg until I went to the pharmacy and the patch I was accustomed to had changed. The company changed the way they make the patch. I was using the brand name Duragesic welled patch with the gel inside until it became to costly, then I found the Sandoz which was the generic made by basically the same company (J&J owns Sandoz) and it was much cheaper and worked great.

From when about 8 yrs ago, when my doctor suggested Fentanyl patches to augment the Vicodin, to years later when I was taking 1-100 and 1-75 Fentanyl patches every 3 days, 2-750 Vicodin every 6 hours, and I mg of xanex every 4 hrs . I reached a point when it was not the pain, but the dependency that led me to start taking the Fentanyl every 2 days, then every day. If I did not wear the patches, Spasms, seizures, and severe anxiety would set in.

m no longer using the Fentanyl patch -- just been off it for about 2 weeks. But, I was using the generic Fentanyl patch from the Watson brand. They would not stay on, so I called the Watson company, they took all my information (I thought they were about to send me some "patch covers"), then they just simply said to use waterproof medical tape on all the edges (not just the corners).

I got ahold of a cop the first one I saw and told him I lost my son and told him what all he was wearing and they did a code adam on him. They had all the cops out looking for him. The whole team and the coachs and me and my husband and daughter was out walking the whole town looking for my son. I was so scared and freaking out. I couldn't find him anywhere and all this nasty stuff started going thru my head. One of the coachs got in his car and drove around looking for him.
