So my ob said I need to be drinking a gallon a day of water. I've been drinking water like none stop. Can't I get water intoxication doing that? Drinking to much water???
Last night I got a headache and was feeling malaise, fearing it might be the beginning stages of water intoxication, which is something I just recently learned about I ate some chips(2 bags) for the sodium and my headache went away.

Is the diagnosis similar between a concussion and intoxication? If so, in what ways? i.e., with the pupils, when doctor shines light in eyes, motor skills, etc. In what ways are they different? What if you have/are both at the same time? Can they be possibly confused or synonymous?
This building is new and was built roughly 2 years ago. I am asking this because I may have experienced signs of lead intoxication and generally I have been not well ever since I moved to this house.

As tolerance to phenobarbital develops, the amount needed to maintain the same level of intoxication increases; tolerance to a fatal dosage, however, does not increase more than two-fold. Thanks. Yes I drink a lot of water which causes me to urinated frequently. But my doctor warns me about water intoxication from too much water. I've been given 'pilocarpine hcl 5mg tabs' to produce saliva. Concerned about taking this. Haven't been given any meds for hyperthyroidism as of yet.
You should never exceed 100 ounces of water a day. 2 gallons=256 ounces.
Drinking to much water or "water intoxication" causes the other nutrients in the body to become diluted to the point that they can no longer do their jobs. This causes an electrolyte (salt ion) imbalance.
Symptoms of water intoxication actually look a lot like the symptoms of alcohol intoxication, including nausea, altered mental state, and vomiting. Also headaches, muscles weakness and convulsions.
Thanks for your replies. I checked her diagnosis paper and it said alcohol "intoxication". I guess this makes more sense than alcoholism but still, she isn't a heavy drinker.
My question is would the trauma of a hard fall, without hitting the head, combined with double intoxication be a likely explanation for the loss of consciousness? Would a bump on the head that did not cause lasting pain be enough to cause syncope or seizure or subdural hematoma or concussion? Might the double intoxication itself have caused syncope or seizure, even? Would a scan be necessary in this situation? Any opinion or elucidation would be greatly appreciated.
I did a little research and apparently it could be a psora spot, caused by intoxication in the body. Funny enough I was smoking a few days earlier, so I feel confident that it caused the spot to appear. I just wanted some information about these spots that appear on the iris, and if they can eventually go away.
I am going to get off the Fentanyl patches and put on Methadone using Suboxone as a bridge
.I have never heard of this med called Suboxone.I am on 200mcg of Fentanyl how long will it take to get off the fentanyl?
Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.

If the pain is still there, obviously the Fentanyl is not working and you need to address what is actually happening. Fentanyl CAN relieve pain, depending...
It also dopes up your mind and body. You have no way of knowing this until you can think clearly and the Fentanyl prevents that clear thinking.
Find out what is really going on and GET OFF THE FENTANYL, THIS STUFF IS DANGEROUS!
interactions between prozac and fentanyl. My husbands meds were recently doubled. Prozac now 40mg and fentanyl 50mcg. and he is now talking in his sleep every night and constantly scratching at himself in his sleep.
I blindly went along with my doctor prescribing the Fentanyl patch along with other meds for BT pain. I realized the Fentanyl had a lot of negative things for me (like increase in sugar intake, nodding off when I stopped doing anything, no short term memory.) Do a search on Fentanyl here and see what people have gone through with it.
Personally I think it should only be used for end of life pain. If you have reason to think you won't ever come off it, then it would be okay.
So I would just discuss with your doctor the fact that the fentanyl is no longer working. I have heard that fentanyl tends to work a lot longer than longer acting opioids in pill form before effectiveness begins to wane.
The options that your doctor will most likely present to you are, an increase in fentanyl (which will require wearing a couple of patches versus just one), an increase or change in breakthrough pain medication and/or an addition of a long acting medication in pill form.
