Avatar m tn Stay connected to us. Fentanyl has a way of hanging on. Sounds like you've been doing good tapering. Welcome to the forum.
Avatar m tn If the pain is still there, obviously the Fentanyl is not working and you need to address what is actually happening. Fentanyl CAN relieve pain, depending... It also dopes up your mind and body. You have no way of knowing this until you can think clearly and the Fentanyl prevents that clear thinking. Find out what is really going on and GET OFF THE FENTANYL, THIS STUFF IS DANGEROUS!
Avatar n tn The fentanyl should manage your pain much more effectively than the methadone... well I believe it will based on my personal experiences. And I have never taken opana, so I am not sure how much it would help. Good Luck.
897990 tn?1248268956 If I'm not mistaken, this forum is placed here to people to get help and not to find out how to use certain drugs. I could be wrong, but I figured I would pass that along to you.
Avatar f tn My insurance company recently switched fentanyl from Tier 1 to Tier 3. Their claim is that there are cheaper (to them) drugs available. I use a 100 and 25 patch plus "break out" drugs. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the forum...as GoingTo said....she can help you and the forum is a great place for support and friends.
Avatar m tn m sorry that you are having problems with your pain. I KNOW that there is NOTHING stronger than the Fentanyl Patch. A 25 mcg Fentanyl Patch is a VERY low amount. If you are to try a higher dose it MIGHT give you the relief that you need. :) We REALLY aren't qualified for give you dosing advice. You RALLY need to discuss this with your Doctor.
1326023 tn?1274867436 You may get help on this over in the Pain Management forum. I don't know anything about the Fentanyl patch (or very little.) But I had a fusion in my hand in March and now have more pain than before. I've found some great help in the pain forum. I, too, am physically dependent on my medications, which I hate. But there's a difference in being dependent and addiction. Good luck finding the information you need.
526311 tn?1229286330 has anyone ever tried to detox off fentanyl patches (not perscribed) im in the fourth day of the worst withdraws Ive ever had. Does anyone know how long this is supposed to last?
Avatar n tn interactions between prozac and fentanyl. My husbands meds were recently doubled. Prozac now 40mg and fentanyl 50mcg. and he is now talking in his sleep every night and constantly scratching at himself in his sleep.
Avatar m tn i currently wear fentanyl 100mcg patch, exchange in 48 hrs, and taking 4 30mg roxicodone daily. would oxycontin work better than the medications i currently take?
1588890 tn?1297073916 Hi ellie, First I want to welcome you to the Pain Management Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. I want to let you know that there are NO Doctors on this Forum only CP - Chronic Pain - Patients that help each other with our OWN expertise and experiences that we have developed through our OWN CP Issues. The ONLY person you should ask this of is your Doctor. I have NO idea if the Nicotine patch will interfere with your Fentanyl or not.
Avatar m tn I now have great pain in both areas. I do not know what to do. I am on fentanyl at 50 mcg every three days and about 4 percocets per day for break out pain. Really this does not stop my pain so I am at the point of thinking after a couple of years of being on oxy and now this to just get off it all. I am very scared that I am addicted. Since I am going to have a lot of pain either way I am wondering if I should just try and come off it all ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn Fentanyl was a rough one for me. But then I also have MS and it sent that into a tailspin and I was on the patch for 2 years verses the short period of time you were. I got off the fentanyl I was on (100 mci patch changed every 48 hrs) relatively quickly - in 2 months. I was given suboxone and clonidine to help with w/d symptoms. My suboxone taper was somewhat aggressive. I was on an 8 day taper.
443878 tn?1205103196 I have recently began using Fentanyl 50mcg/hr Transdermal Patches. Previously I had been taking 80mg of Oxycontin bid as well as 10mg of Percocet tid to control breakthrough pain. My physician at that time discontinued the Oxycontin and Percocet cold turkey. Te next month of my life was pure hell and I believe I almost died. The resulting health issues were a kidney infection; bladder infection; UTI as well as severe dehydration with associative muscle cramping. My total weight loss was 60lbs.
Avatar m tn Although you are not an addict your body has become dependant, as you have discovered. Our forum is directed at Pain Management. MedHelp has another great forum directed at the issues you are experiencing. It's called the Addiction and Substance Abuse Forum. Here's the link: http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Addiction-Substance-Abuse/show/77 Again I don't think you are an addict.... but the above forum will have good answers for you from ppl that have been there.
Avatar m tn I use Fentanyl, Lorazepam, Oxycodone, Neurontin, and others every day. Can anyone give advice on if I can do this. I want this!
Avatar f tn you might should check out the Pain Management Forum. Unless I misunderstood your post. Most ppl here are trying to get off all pain meds all together forever. Not that theyre meds arent working and theyre looking for something to work better.
Avatar m tn Fentanyl can be very difficult to come off. The withdrawals seem to be harsher and last longer than other opioids. But you are lucky to only be at 12 mg over 4 weeks. Did your doctor have you on something else before he put you on the Fentanyl? I ask that because Fentanyl isn't normally used as a first-line drug for pain. If you were on something else, that would factor into your withdrawal. You can read lots of withdrawal hints over on the Substance Abuse forum.
Avatar m tn I read about this and remember when I quit Fentanyl. Fentanyl did me so much damage, it almost killed me. I went cold turkey which is difficult but worth the result. Keeping you mind strong that you need to get control of you mind and body and not the drugs is the most important focus. You will feel much better once the drug is out of you system and you will be able to think clearer. Keep the advise mentioned here and stay on top of vitamins.
Avatar m tn Everyone says I look better (apparently my skin had gray overtones with Fentanyl). If I can do it anyone can. This forum is instrumental in helping when things seem hopeless. Good luck and let us know how things are going.
Avatar m tn Fentanyl is a tough one. Don't cut your oxycodone dose until you get off the Fentanyl. Ask your doctor for a slow taper for the Fentanyl. (They may raise the oxycodone dose temporarily.) Once you're off the Fentanyl, then you can taper off the rest. Stay well hydrated. Don't try to CT Fentanyl, it is very unpleasant.
1311839 tn?1282480602 e been an addict all my life but have been clean years as im on suboxone. After reading this forum im coming to the conclusion its time to come off them but there is a problem.Iv'e come off suboxone before and the WDs are pretty tough but not as bad as methadone.I cant go through this taper bull again as it hammers me.An ex girlfriend says she will give me 3 fentanyl 50microgram an hour patches which will do me 9 days and stop the WDs.Im not asking you if you think im doing the right thing.
