I fear the UDT (Urinary Drug Test) every time I must take one - not because I don't take my meds as ordered - I certainly do - but because of posts like yours. I do know that for whatever reason some UDT are not always accurate. We live in an opiate-phobic climate.

It depends on the test that is being used and that the assay cutoff is for that particular test. The test for Fentanyl is specific to look for that drug and a normalized value can be detected usually 3-4 days after. You were given such a small dose IV, it may have been a much shorter time span.

Here is some surprising info. The urine test the Veterans Admin uses to "test" people for the Fentanyl Patch use... it does not test for the drug. It is a dummy test. They expect you to pop negative results for Opioids. Since Fentanyl is a synthetic derivative it will not test sensitive to the test. They would have to run a more expensive Immuno Assay test (Spelling?). They do the test to make sure you are not taking another prescription drug not prescribed by their doctors.....

I was on a 100 micro gram per hour pain patch (it takes 1000 micro grams to equil i milligram) I assume the test used was a Immunoassay test. that is a broud spectrum test for opites.That test has a minimum threshold, that means there has to be a certain level of the drug in your system B 4 it will flag an opite responce.AND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 %!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of the fentanyl is excreated in the urine.

I had surgery and was given fentanyl and nearly 2 mos later still shows up on drug test. I only have 1 kidney, but I'm still totally shocked and it has caused me bad problems as the dr doesn't believe me when I tell him I did not take this from the street! If it's the Fentanyl then your physician may just need some education is reading Fentanyl UDS results. It's not your other medications that are influencing the results of your UDS.

I blindly went along with my doctor prescribing the Fentanyl patch along with other meds for BT pain. I realized the Fentanyl had a lot of negative things for me (like increase in sugar intake, nodding off when I stopped doing anything, no short term memory.) Do a search on Fentanyl here and see what people have gone through with it. Personally I think it should only be used for end of life pain. If you have reason to think you won't ever come off it, then it would be okay.

I have another app on the 25th, but I am thinking of calling in and asking for more blood work to be done before that. I was on the fentanyl since last summer till feb 1st. its a mean nasty drug to come off of too.

The rpn said since I never failed a test she was going to have me do a saliva test. She also said that if fentanyl she’s up again she would not be able to give me my oxy. Ihave a appt with the dr next week. I am scared.

Hi & Welcome, I have never heard of a treatment center specifically for Fentanyl. All of the centers I am familiar with or have heard of deal with drug & alcohol abuse in general. A drug is a drug is a drug is pretty much the issue. In other words, the centers deal with the disease of addiction no matter what the DOC. Do you have insurance and are you able to take the time to go into treatment?

Educate yourself on what to expect because this Fentanyl is a VERY powerful drug to get off of. It has many side effects you may not realize. This medication shut down my digestive tract and created problems with my pancreas and the weight loss was scary and that is what made me quit. This drug works on the brain centers perception of pain and really screws with the mind. You may not be aware of how powerful these drugs are but they do take control.

I want to know what this drug use now is doing to his liver, even though the liver function test are O.K. They do raise occasionally, but never enough for dr's to be concerned. He also takes 1800 mg daily of neurontin for the neuropathy. Neurologist says the only cure for the neuropathy is treatment for the HCV. His hepatologist wants to wait for new drugs. This situation is growing worse daily, My husband says if I tell his transplant dr about the drug use he will leave.

My doctor prescribed Fentanyl patches for me to help relieve neck and spine pain, the patches are 50Mc.

More like a contract not to accept opiates from anyone else. Fentanyl is a powerful drug and if your using the patch form it takes longer to get in and out of your system should you have complications with it.

Well first of all I want to congratulate you on your attempt to get off the fentanyl. This drug is a very powerful drug and does more damage than you can imagine. FOR ME,.... I developed pancreatic problems and it doped up my mind so much, I had lost weight and had no idea. I was 150lbs before and my family doctor who I have known for 30 years want to do anything he can to help me with my pain, so he prescribed fentanyl 50mcg.

Using another drug to get off another drug is really a bad idea. All you are going to do is prolong the wd process. If you have fentanyl in your possession i would highly recommend that you get rid of them. Way to tempting.......

Tje last time I used was january 6th and I have been 100 percent clean since then. I had a random drug screen that is a urine test that gets sent to a lab so its pretty thorough and I tested positive for fentanyl 3 months after i used last. Is there any explanation for this.

Insurance will no longer cover the 100 mcg Fentanyl patch I change every 2 days. Also take Norco with this medication. Fentanyl works for me but I can no longer afford. Does not cover Oxycontin either which is what i took previous to Fentanyl an insurance stopped covering. Please help an thank you in advance.

Will you pass your drug test? Well it takes at least 72 hours for the Vicodin to leave your system. It could linger longer but that is the general rule. Others will post will more information and knowledge than I have on the subject. I do encourage you to remedy the situation with your roommate before it leads to repeats or bigger problems.
