I have never achieved any relief from PO Dilaudid,however, when in the hospital, the IV form is the only med that gives me pain relief.

My GP started me on 50 mcg of levothyroxine. I also take tramadol and fentanyl patch for chronic pain, and oramorph occasionally for breakthrough pain. Since I started levothyroxine, I went immediately from being cold all the time, to perspiring profusely. My blood pressure has shot up, and is around the 190/100 mark or thereabouts. I have horrible;le tinnitus, and my chest aches, and generally I feel weird. Is it possible my dose is too high for starters.
But I think the Fentanyl may be covering the hydrocodone withdrawal. Fentanyl is very strong and the withdrawals can be long and difficult. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones but it's possible that 'it just hasn't hit you yet. I found the first few drops of the Fentanyl were easy but the lower I got the harder it became. I hope you can escape them and find a way to manage your pain.
m sorry that you are having problems with your pain. I KNOW that there is NOTHING stronger than the Fentanyl Patch. A 25 mcg Fentanyl Patch is a VERY low amount. If you are to try a higher dose it MIGHT give you the relief that you need. :) We REALLY aren't qualified for give you dosing advice. You RALLY need to discuss this with your Doctor.

Im on suboxone and I take 3 quarters a day of the tablets, im getting all four of my wisdom teeth removed and will be sedated,they are doing a IV and local anesthesia. I do not want to tell the surgeon because they will look at me differently. What should i do taper myself to a quarter a day and then not do any the day before and of the surgery? What should i do and will i be ok if i do that?
Within 24 hous you should begin to feel tje fentanyl working, and after a day or two after you apply the 2nd patch, the level of fentanyl in your system will stablize.
You can do a couple of things to make sure the patch is working. First, make sure that patch is properly applied and second, acquire the covers for the patch. Information about proper application of tjeeethe patch and the covers is is on the patient information you should have received with the medication.
But you can give a cat fentanyl patches or other opioids why the difference between those and oxycontin

Theoretically, the Duragesic patch should be covering your bodies need for opioids.
Perhaps there is a problem with absorption from the patch?
Your doctor may have access to a urine test that can show if you're putting out fentanyl metabolites. This will check whether or not you're absorbing the medicine.
I used to break out from the patch, and after the two or three days, would apply triamcinalone cream or some other topical steroid to the site.
t believe any real harm has been done. She simply wanted to get an idea of the dosing required of fentanyl to equal the oxycontin she is taking now. It is not like the original poster can just run to the local drug store and buy 3 fentanyl patches and slap them on. Now if the original poster decides to buy them off the street, well that is their perogative and whatever happens, happens at that point.
They are givin me fentanyl. Which is a narcotic. But am i back at square one? Im still expieriencin the withdraws.

Opana ER is the strongest opioid medication in pill form and the next tier up is the Fentanyl patch based on pharmacology. It is 2x stronger than Oxycontin, again based on pharmacology (i.e., you may find that Oxycontin is more effective regardless of the fact that the strength of Oxycontin is lower than the strength of Opana Er. I have never tried Oxycontin; however, my physician said that we would try it if the Opana ER isn't effective.
I can tell you they usually use medications named Versed (which is an amnesic and makes you sleepy and not remember the procedure) and Fentanyl (an IV pain medication). These two drugs together produce the sedation for the procedure and you will be comfortable. Most people don't remember the procedure at all.
IV Versed (Midazolam, a benzodiazepine) presurgery. In the OR suite, more IV Versed, INhaled oxygen, IV Fentanyl (A potent opiate), followed by IV Propofol (This actually is what knocks you out), and the IV Pancuronium Bromide (For muscle relaxation, so the machines can breathe for you)
It is common at times to administer reversal drugs depending on how much was given and your response when you come out of anesthesia.
