Fentanyl citrate

Common Questions and Answers about Fentanyl citrate

actiq

Avatar m tn I would think a good Pharmacy or a Pain Clinic would order them for you. The generic is Oral Transmucosal Fentanyl Citrate (OTFC) and the trademark name is Actiq®, manufactured by Cephalon. I would also check to see if your insurance covers them. I wish you the best...
3178266 tn?1344536316 You should try unsweetneed prune juice. Just drink an 8 oz glass of prune juice before bedtime and some water afterwards and you'll go in the morning just fine. I also have severe constipation issues and I tried Miralax, Sennakot S, Fleet Enemas, and Magnesium Citrate. Miralax used to work but doesn't anymore and just makes me severely bloated to the point I can't breathe and caused severe abdominal pain.

Please I need help.
Avatar f tn I am 36 weeks tomorrow. I have had problems going to the bathroom my entire life. I'm used to being constipated and having to push to go #2. But due to being pregnant and a certain medication I'm on, the constipation is much worse. It gets stuck and I rip and bleed almost every time I go. And I can only go every 5-7 days or so. With 2-3 of those days trying to go. Btw, I do take Colace everyday. So my fiancé suggested I drink a bottle of citrate.
Avatar f tn I have been taking 1 magnesium citrate 200mg at bedtime for approximately 1.5 weeks. I do have a history of headaches, but since I started taking it, I am waking up with severe headaches which seem to last 3 to 4 hours. The only other thing I take is a B6 vitamin. I take no prescription medication, so I know it is not an interaction. Everything I read says magnesium is good for headaches. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Hi, i recently started taking magnesium citrate. the thing is i have read the regular dosis is 600 mg of magnesium... the product i bought has 530 mg of citrate magnesium with Vitamin B6 125 mg. in the prospect it says you can take up to three capsules a day... What confuses me is that 530 mg of magnesium citrates is equivalent of 47,6 mg of "elemental magnesium". i have read that regular dosis of elemntal magnesuim is approximately 200 mg.. sooo...
Avatar f tn The pain management doc I was seeing had me on a 75mic patch of Fentanyl to be changed ever 2 days. If you not familiar with Fentanyl...it is 50 times stronger than morphine and as close to heroin as you can get. One day I was at my lowest point and decided to take matters into my own hands. I began researching food allergies and the effect they can have on the body and mind. I was blown away.....
Avatar n tn I've been told I should increase my electrolyte intake. I've done so but am still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because of the type of electrolytes I've been using, mainly potassium citrate and magnesium citrate. I'm mainly interested in the best electrolytes for neural and brain health and was wondering if someone could suggest me some. I'm kind of interested in magnesium chloride.
Avatar f tn I've been irregular, pretty much completely constipaded, for several weeks and my doctor told me to do a "clean out" with magnesium citrate. Well I was aprehensive but did it. That was at 8 last night. Eleven hours later I have nothing to show for it except a gurgling belly a few pebbly stools. I'm freaking out and I don't know what to do. Help please!
Avatar n tn I agree with Furballsmom, except that I have trouble finding mag citrate. All the supplement places sell other forms instead of citrate, but doctors always say use mag citrate.
Avatar f tn Hi . Question I have been taking magnesium citrate in powder. Today I diluted the thing in water as usual and proceeded to drink it, apparently there was some residual left and I think as I was nearing the end of the drink some went in my nose. Is it harmful?
Avatar m tn Magnesium citrate is a laxative. I took it 3weeks ago. I wonder where the pain is from because the medicine is suppose to make u have several bbowel movement.
Avatar n tn The biggest thing I notice is that "it works" - the others didn't. I'm not a chemist, so I can't really tell you the chemical difference between the citrate and the oxide forms, but I've read several articles stating that the citrate form is much more readily absorbed by the body.
Avatar f tn I am going to get off the Fentanyl patches and put on Methadone using Suboxone as a bridge .I have never heard of this med called Suboxone.I am on 200mcg of Fentanyl how long will it take to get off the fentanyl?
653169 tn?1303446369 Try some magnesium citrate. Magnesium is responsible for relaxing the muscles; you might be lacking enough.
Avatar m tn If the pain is still there, obviously the Fentanyl is not working and you need to address what is actually happening. Fentanyl CAN relieve pain, depending... It also dopes up your mind and body. You have no way of knowing this until you can think clearly and the Fentanyl prevents that clear thinking. Find out what is really going on and GET OFF THE FENTANYL, THIS STUFF IS DANGEROUS!
Avatar n tn interactions between prozac and fentanyl. My husbands meds were recently doubled. Prozac now 40mg and fentanyl 50mcg. and he is now talking in his sleep every night and constantly scratching at himself in his sleep.
Avatar f tn I blindly went along with my doctor prescribing the Fentanyl patch along with other meds for BT pain. I realized the Fentanyl had a lot of negative things for me (like increase in sugar intake, nodding off when I stopped doing anything, no short term memory.) Do a search on Fentanyl here and see what people have gone through with it. Personally I think it should only be used for end of life pain. If you have reason to think you won't ever come off it, then it would be okay.
Avatar f tn So I would just discuss with your doctor the fact that the fentanyl is no longer working. I have heard that fentanyl tends to work a lot longer than longer acting opioids in pill form before effectiveness begins to wane. The options that your doctor will most likely present to you are, an increase in fentanyl (which will require wearing a couple of patches versus just one), an increase or change in breakthrough pain medication and/or an addition of a long acting medication in pill form.
Avatar n tn The fentanyl should manage your pain much more effectively than the methadone... well I believe it will based on my personal experiences. And I have never taken opana, so I am not sure how much it would help. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn now im having problems moving my bowels. today I took 3 stool softners and a bottle of citrate. this has been going on for about 2 weeks. when I have a movement it is just tiny pieces of stool coming out. have been having major cramps for about 1 and a half weeks. double me over. I am a nurses aide and have been working in health care for 35 years. don't know whats going on. took citrate an hour and a half ago and NOTHING haven't even expelled the liquid yet.
Avatar m tn Just wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with switching methadone 95mg once daily, to fentanyl patch 100mcg Hour patch? or know the methadone mg fentanyl dose equivalents?
Avatar m tn Hey buddy! Congrats on your decision to taper down. I know fentanyl can be a handful. There's several members who has tapered quite successfully At 50mcg, my doctor wanted me to switch over to Oxycotin but insurance didn't allow it, which led to going cold turkey. I'll be passing your post to current and past fentanyl users! There's tons of support here!
Avatar f tn Stella, I notice you often recommend magnesium citrate but I cannot find it anywhere. The only stuff I find just says "Magnesium" on the bottle and the ingredients say "magnesium oxide or magnesium stearate" is that the same thing? If not, where do you get the citrate because I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks!
