t think it does much,) and ibuprofen as well as a couple of prescription ointments and gels, and high doses of ibuprofen. I also use ice and heat. I get cortisone injections in my knees. None of this comes close to helping alleviate my pain. The PM doctor will prescribe me oxycodone for a few days when the pain is seriously making me lose my mind. I think we've all been there with that idea that crosses your mind that this just isn't worth it.

It's definitely not the ibuprofen. I can take that every day with no rash, only when I take the prescription pain killers will I get the rash.

So, 2 years ago and after being put on the fentanyl patch and other opiates, lyrica for nerve pain, I had 2 more surgeries. A spinal cord stimulator that didn't work, they removed it and put one in with paddle leads...supposed to work better. It didn't either. So today, I think I'm 26 days fentanyl free...my dr was fired and they left all her patients to fend for themselves. I came off fentanyl, cold-turkey.

Yes, it will work faster but it is not worth it in the long run. It is all being released at the same time instead of over a period of time like it says on the bottle to take in maybe 6 to 8 hours. Its pretty great while it last but when it is time to come off it will be really bad news. Good luck, I hope you find some good advise on here, it has helped me.

I'm detoxing from fentanyl and oxycodone currently and it's a slow process. Each decrease puts me through a massive withdrawal. I have 2 more decreases before I'm off the fentanyl. 1. I sleep on the hard floor. I'm not sure why this helps, but it feels more comfortable, especially immediately after a decrease. 2. I take vitamins and I drink a TON of water. I feel dehydrated, so the more water I drink the better. My body feels like it is on fire from the inside out.

i have blood work done every 3 mths and it has always been normal. i am worried that the tramadol and ibuprofen could damage my liver. i only take 7.5-750mg vicodin. wouldnt it be better to just take the vicodin again?

The Dr upped her patch to 100 mcg and gave her #1 Norco 1 3Xday, and ibuprofen. She is also on hypertension and cholesterol meds. Since she's been home for the last couple weeks her mental status has deterorated significally to the point we have taken over all money matters and had to lock up her meds cause she was taking them wrong. I would say she had some mild dementia before this last episode, but I would rate it as severe at this point.

I went from 75 mcg Fentanyl to 50 without much trouble. Then dropped to 37.5 mcg. and had a really bad week. We were going to stay at the 37.5 for a few weeks to sort of stabilize but I was having trouble getting the script filled for the 37.5. (I have to go to a certain pharmacy because of my worker's comp.) Because of that the NP took me off the Fentanyl completely and switched me to MS Contin 30 mg. twice a day. I am definitely having withdrawal symptoms with this.

About a month ago I was talking about trying to go from 75 µg to 50 µg of fentanyl. gave up stayed at 75. when I saw my primary on March 9 and asked if there was not something else he could do. he said have you ever tried Neurontin? I replied no. he wrote me a script for 300 mg. one tablet at bedtime. if no ill effects after two weeks increase to two. Will the first night was wonderful.

The reason they told you not to take ibuprofen (and may have also mentioned aspirin?) - is because ibuprofen can have a blood thinning effect and therefore they want to reduce any risk of bleeding with your injection. I don't believe Tramadol has that same potential for thinning the blood, however, I'm no doctor or pharmacist, so I would suggest putting a call in to wherever you will be getting your injection and asking them, just to be on the safe side.

t like the addiction, the strongest meds I took before the patch was ibuprofen. I had surgery on my neck in 2008 and it seems to have created new equally as painful issues. A nerve slipped and wrapped around one of the discs and now the nerve has been fuzed into the bone and hurts all of the time. I am losing the ability to use my right hand. I can't miss any work and I don't know how to get off of the patch without getting sick.

I was taking fentanyl and percs for severe back pain and decided that I was using to much, it was no longer working and I did not like how it made me a recluse so I quit 8 days ago. I have been trying to get by on advil and heating pads but it is killing me. Could this extreme pain be rebound pain and it will stablize after I go through the whole wd process? I've been on fentanyl patch 25 mcg and 12 mcg combine for 2 years for health reasons . Due to adverse side effects I have come off of them call Turkey . I am on day 5 and it is been hellish to say the least.

I doubt anyone remembers me - I was on this site and going thru WDs/detox in 11/07. I know I wouldn't have made it w/o the help and support from everyone here. There are a few names I remember and a whole lot of new ones! I was clean until March of '09' when I had rotator cuff repair surgery and at that point in time I truely believe that the percocets I was given for pain were legit. I actually only took them as perscibed and didn't use all that I had.

I have been on neurontin, lyrica, vicodin, percocet, fentanyl patches, ibuprofen, and oxycontin as well as morphine/lidocaine suppositories. I am currently taking 300mg of neurontin 4x a day, oxycontin 40mg 3x a day, percocet 7.5/325mg as needed, and ibuprofen for my pain. The saline was the worst, and the others had too many side effects. Unfortunately, fentanyl is absorbed into fatty tissue, which means that if you stop taking it you have to wait a few weeks for the fentanyl to clear from your body.

s are VERY mild this time around! I was really expecting to go to hell and back with this fentanyl withdrawal but so far it has been 10x easier than my oxy withdrawals I went through last year. Anyone have any theories why my w/d this time around has not been nearly as bad as last time? I have been dependent for about 4 months this time around, using mainly oxy/dilaudid/fentanyl but I havent had oxy in awhile mainly just fentanyl and dilaudid.

I use lidoderm patches, Voltaren gel, a compounding cream, exercise, ibuprofen and ice and heat for the pain. I've done a lot of procedures, some which helped for a bit and others not at all. There's also a pain management forum here that you may find helpful. It used to be very active with a lot of regulars, like here. Over the past couple of years it has sort of become hit or miss, which is a shame. Still, you may get some help as far as your pain goes on that forum.

I guess I'm on a roll here today :( I just noticed something and am wondering about it. Since I started the Fentanyl patch last week, whenever I take my BT meds (oxycodone), I end up with a headache and sort of long-lasting hot flash. I never felt like this before. Initially I chalked the hot flash up to the humidity here (though I've always been a cold person and never minded the heat. Now I find myself putting the air conditioning on, which I NEVER do.

) I felt weird and shaky after the anesthesia and fentanyl wore off that they gave me before and after surgery (anesthesia before, fentanyl after). But I think I felt that way last time too. I feel a lot better but my insides kind of feel bloated and like I pulled a muscle, but pain is subsiding. I will see how I feel after sitting in my chair for 8 hours, if I can handle that. Hi I have a massive period ache , therefore I took 1100 mg of ibuprofen . At first I had taken 500 mg tablet but it's been an hour and a half and it did not help , so I took an other tablet of ibuprofen of 600 mg . The pain is gone but I feel very tired , can I be harmed or die out of it ? Should I ask for help ? Or has anybody been familiar with it ? Please help me , I am a hypochondriac person and I also have OCD and use Prozac .

I took tylenol this morning. I took Ibuprofen an hour ago . I coudnnt take it anymore. It was a one time thing and i feel so much better. Will my baby be okay?

whenever i take even one 550mg (naproxen) ibuprofen and then drink, my stomach gets tender and bloated and i feel bad. i usually take a maalox or something like that, yet i never throw up from it so i don't know if that's applicable for you. i think it is due to the ibuprofen, but if you're not used to eating spicy foods then it could have disagreed with you, not necessarily meaning food poisoning. you should never drink and take NSAIDs at the same time.

Ibuprofen is bad for our livers. Try getting a massage if you can. Bromelian, a natural supplement made from pineapples helps reduce swelling but it takes time to work. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and getting some exercise. Try some yoga too. Pot brownies worked the best for my back pain.
