1279189 tn?1275244868 No, with fentanyl on board you will have no withdrawal symptoms from the vicodin. However, it takes two or three days for the fentanyl to reach a steady dosage in your bloodstream, so you may need to overlap with the vicodin a bit as your body gets used to the change. You will not get a "buzz" or as you put it, increased spike in energy from fentanyl that you experience with vicodin.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, I'm a 42 year old paramedic living in England who is currently in chronic pain management (off work on sick leave at present). I have been in and out of pain management for many years now and unfortunately due to changes in the law in the UK, I can't resume my job until I'm able to stop all my meds. Drug driving laws have changed drastically over here recently involving driving Group 2 vehicles (i.e. ambulances) while on prescription medication.
Avatar m tn Is there any explanation for this. Its been driving me crazy and its the first time i have beem clean in 2 years and of course no one at the clinic believes which I dont know if I would believe someone either so I understand the skepticism but I am very scared why this would happen. If anyone has any ideas please dont hesitate to respond.
Avatar m tn This is being written by some one who was on the Fentanyl patch and the fentanyl lollipops/ sublingual tabs for advanced cancer. If you want to life in a Fent Fog. There are also new restrictions on driving whilst on this drug in the UK. I don't know about other countries. If your not sure it's working then its not working. You either have pain or you don't. Find out all you can about this drug and then decide if you want it in your life .
177002 tn?1264998540 Perhaps you can help others with fentanyl problems.I know one has to taper very slowly and that fentanyl has a very long half life and stays in the body much longer than regulat opiates.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Fentanyl for pain and all I can write about is how drugged up I was. Mine was 50mcg and my mind had a hard time with the pain issues. Sometimes it would stop the pain and other times, I didn't know what day of the week it was. The worse part for me was the weight loss. I thought I was eating enough but this medication dulled my senses enough to lose so much weight, I looked like I was dying. I went down to 108lbs from 150 lbs.
Avatar f tn I wondered if prescribed medications for chronic pain like methadone, fentanyl etc show up on the test and what happens if it does?
Avatar f tn Everyone is having trouble beliveing me about the patch giving me 2 much medicine at once because I dident realize it was happening till the next day and I was driving and wrecked my truck. I hit a pole so everyone is Ok but now no one trusts me to drive?? Is this just one more thing that will be taken away because of the pain?? Help!
682757 tn?1226867854 Everyone around me has noticed the change. So I went to my pain mgmt dr and told him that I want off of the Fentanyl. He then proceeded to insist that I was doing something wrong because he had never had anyone in his 10yrs of using the med have these effects. Then when I told him that I was doing nothing different he said that I must be going through MENOPAUSE!!!! I am 33 years old and I hardly think that is a factor.
Avatar m tn s are VERY mild this time around! I was really expecting to go to hell and back with this fentanyl withdrawal but so far it has been 10x easier than my oxy withdrawals I went through last year. Anyone have any theories why my w/d this time around has not been nearly as bad as last time? I have been dependent for about 4 months this time around, using mainly oxy/dilaudid/fentanyl but I havent had oxy in awhile mainly just fentanyl and dilaudid.
Avatar f tn Would SOMEONE PLEASE help me explane to my friends and family how fentanyl works?? It is hard to understand, I get that! So here is the story.....Why I am outside working in the flower garden for 3 hours between the hours of 8-12. It was 89* and 100percent (humid). Helping a older friend) the next day I was out in the sun for 1 or 2 hours at 10am, jumped in my truck and went to the store to get a sunday paper.
Avatar n tn I have been off fentanyl and orals opiates for a month. I am having a hard time with anxiety, depression. how long will this last?
Avatar f tn The patches come in three strentghs -- 25, 50, and 75 mcg. I think - but maybe they have more now. I would definitely talk to your doctor and ask lots of questions like how long he expects that you will use the patch. Many people on this site have been on it so I'm sure one of them will come along and give their experience with it. All the best.
Avatar f tn Then a couple friends showed up and gave me a few fentanyl pills. The subs blocked most of that but I feel ok. I have to work again in 8 hrs. I have about 6 more pills of fentanyl. I know if I use them I'll get through work but I don't want to start a fentanyl addiction.i was wondering if I take subs instead if I'll just get sick again or if they'll help now. I need to work or I'll lose my car. That's the only reason I'm considering taking the fentanyl tomorrow.
1390687 tn?1281157239 How much of each were you on and for how long? The fentanyl withdrawal will probably be the worst... I had the roughest time with the fentanyl... and no withdrawals from the percocet/oxycodone... it all depends on the person and amount and how long the person has been using,.. good luck.
Avatar f tn I guess I'm on a roll here today :( I just noticed something and am wondering about it. Since I started the Fentanyl patch last week, whenever I take my BT meds (oxycodone), I end up with a headache and sort of long-lasting hot flash. I never felt like this before. Initially I chalked the hot flash up to the humidity here (though I've always been a cold person and never minded the heat. Now I find myself putting the air conditioning on, which I NEVER do.
Avatar m tn My wife has been perscribed fentanyl patches and has been told not to eat grapefruit, does this apply to all citrus fruit ie.
1588890 tn?1297073916 s a month ago, Percocet 10 for breakthru and Lyrica for my Fibro. I am trying to quit smoking and HATE that gum! Was thinking about the patch but was wondering if it was safe to have both on? Any suggestion?
7157762 tn?1390862911 ve stopped taking my percs and taken off my last dose of Fentanyl patches. Wanted to thank all the folks here especially Ms. H who has supported me throughout this bumpy ride. My cold turkey wasn't completely planned. A friend of mine and I planned to jump together but things always seem to come up for us both. Less than a month ago, I went to my pain management doc for yet another refill. I opened up to my doc and issued my wish to be off the patches.
Avatar n tn I have been on Fentanyl patches for about 6 months and it was prescribed to wean me off of Norco 10/325 2 pills 4 x day after a surgery. I got as high as 75 mcg patch of Fentanyl every 3 days and then I developed some kind of allergy. The Pain Dr. says the allergy is to the adhesive, not the fentanyl. I am now down to 37 mcg every 2 days because the patches itch like crazy. I wake up in the morning and my patches are scratched off(even withTagederm) and there is blood on my sheets. My Dr.
1360851 tn?1277581906 I was on the Fentanyl patch and became very sick, I went to the ER and found out the patch was leaking due to a manufacturing error, I was being overdosed. Since then I've been afraid to use the patch, I use only percocet to control my pain. I understand there is a class action lawsuit against fentynyl.
Avatar f tn You need to taper on fentanyl. So basically you are on 100 mcgs. Your doctor will cut it down each month when you get your prescription. So maybe 75 next month, then 50, 25, 12.5. Are however your dr wants to to do. Fentanyl withdrawal is not fun. So I would say go slow. How much Percocet do you take? You may want to keep that to help you as you lessen the fentanyl. Then when fentanyl is finally done, you can do what is needed wor the Percocet. Do you know when you next surgery will be?
