Common Questions and Answers about Fentanyl and cymbalta

Avatar m tn How often daily does he need the diazepam and the fentanyl now? The opana does the same thing as the fentanyl - - keep those as far apart as you can. Dont mix the lunesta and the diazepam in too close a dose. They will also mirror each others affects. Sounds like Doc Jeff could help a little more if he knew how many of what and at what times he takes them. You have a couple that are used for pain and a couple along the nerve pill line.
Avatar m tn I would be reluctant to say you need to change your medication. I take zoloft and the biggest difference with zoloft and Cymbalta is Cymbalta is also prescribed to treat chronic pain. So I don't know exactly how long you have been taking it but it seems like it would be beneficial. If it is being prescribed as a long term therapy medicine than it likely you won't have to be worried about the withdrawal symptoms anyway.
Avatar m tn the oxy contin and now call it oxy neo here in canada i have been on for about 3 years now the pain management clinic advised my doctor to put me on the fentanyl and cymbalta with the ox i think it may be a little much after all the reading up i have done on it with the fentanyl being so stong
Avatar f tn You must have serious pain to be on the dosage level that you are on and I hope that you are able to get your pain under control by using the fentanyl patches and/or some other medication. Lastly, I should tell you that if most of your pain is nerve pain, opioids do a very poor job at controlling nerve pain....you'll never get the relief you are looking for from opioids if you are trying to manage a lot of nerve pain.
Avatar m tn First off, congratulations on beayting throat cancer. My uncle and aunt both did and it's not easy. Fentanyl was probably a good med for you while going through that. Around here you don't hear anything about the Actiq. You also don't hear much about Fentanyl being used recreationally, though it happens rarely. I was given the Fentanyl patch after about 6/7 surgeries on my hand and winding up with rsd, nerve pain and more.
1675455 tn?1328478107 I got sick of taking all this crap and went to my primary and that is how we tried the fentanyl to try and get me off the other crap and we ran into me going through withdrawls for the last 4 weeks now. Being pumped with all these opioates over the years and getting my brain and body used to them and needing more and more and more as time goes on. Its time to get clean. Reclam my brain and body, and take dang control of it! Maybe its not fybro pain after all.
Avatar f tn i did it i got off the fentanyl and hydrocodone. i am not taking oxycodone and cymbalta it was very hard especially since i had a supply of 8 patchs left when i started to come off them. i admit i put them on and off several times and felt more like a failure as time went on till i finally stopped all the way. i not can see its weird i missed the entire last 7 years to fentanyl its an aweful drug i thought i was still in pain on them **** i didnt know what planet i was even on..
8976007 tn?1413330650 i have been wanting off this fentanyl patch for months now and finally had the courage to talk to the doctor about switching to an equivalent ER opiate. i am currently on the 50 mcg patch every 48 hrs. she wrote a script for 10 mg oxycontin 2 times a day. i asked her if she had a table for conversion she could look at and she said 'yes' because i was NOT wanting less pain relief. actually, have been needing more the past few months.
Avatar n tn ] The cymbalta (a SNRI) at 60mg/day is the usual dose. Both celexa and cymbalta are for majore depressive disorder. In addition, cymbalta is also used for anxiety, and for pain of osteoarthritis, diabetic peripheral neuropathy, and fibromyalgia. It is possible that cymbalta was being prescribed for major depression *and* additional specific chronic pain conditions, while the celexa was for major depression.
Avatar m tn My question for all those out there is does the bloating and dizzy head ever stop? I take Lyrica and Cymbalta. The lyrica was added a week ago and It has helped the pain so much I don't want to stop it . My doctors said they can be taken together.
Avatar m tn I now have great pain in both areas. I do not know what to do. I am on fentanyl at 50 mcg every three days and about 4 percocets per day for break out pain. Really this does not stop my pain so I am at the point of thinking after a couple of years of being on oxy and now this to just get off it all. I am very scared that I am addicted. Since I am going to have a lot of pain either way I am wondering if I should just try and come off it all ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
324895 tn?1231947344 I have the Fentanyl patches on, I take some new type med called AMIX and I take Cymbalta. I know that I take my meds. faithfully because I have experienced the insane withdrawels. Anyhow, I just hate the anxious type feeling I've been having and want to find out if anyone knows what I'm talking about or have experienced such symptoms. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I also told him I do not want to see my PCP anymore. He then gave me scripts for Cymbalta and 10mg straight oxycodone and told me to back it up with the acetomenaphin I need. He is also helping me get to a Dr. that could help with my spine. I filled my Lyrica and percaset this month and was wondering if I am going to be able at all to fill the cymbalta and oxycodone? With all these new regulations I am so confused.
Avatar f tn - MS Contin (Extended Release Morphine), - Nucynta ER (ER Nucynta) - Ultram ER (ER Tramadol, brand) - Opana ER (Extended Release Oxymorphone) - OxyContin (Extended Release Oxycodone) - Exalgo (ER Dilaudid) - BuTrans Patch (ER Buprenephrine) - Fentanyl Patch (ER Fentanyl) MS Contin, Opana ER, and OxyContin are typically prescribed 2-3 times per day or every 8 to 12 hours. Exalgo is prescribed every 24 hours. The BuTrans patch last 7 days and the Fentanyl patch lasts 48-72 hours.
Avatar f tn For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...
1337431 tn?1280955899 I was on methadone for pain for several years prior to the fentanyl...it was effective and did not sap my energy and will to live the way fentanyl does. I was also capable of being compliant on it. Just something else to think about, if you have to have something for pain.
Avatar f tn I have diabetic nueropathy i take the highest dose of lyrica (gabbapentin didnt work) i also take oxycodone (60mg a day) and fentanyl (75mg patch every 3 days) and get very little relief. Im bed ridden and can barely stand 4 a few seconds. The burning, electricity crackles and bee stinging is so bad at times i wish i could chop my feet off. It began in the tips of my toes 3 yrs ago and has now spread up my shins and calves.
596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.
Avatar n tn I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...
Avatar m tn For some opiate addicts, the patch is a step up the ladder to increased addiction, as fentanyl is extremely potent and can induce quite a bit of euphoria. The slower delivery of a patch is generally safer than a short-acting pill, but some people start to 'play' with the patches-- they wear several at once, or cut them, smoke them, chew them... or they apply heat to them so that they release the drug faster and your skin picks it up more quickly.
1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar f tn personal_page_id=817569 The link above takes you to the person on here who wrote about Cymbalta and Abilify helping her daughters. It is written in five parts. Thought you might be interested.
Avatar n tn I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.
Avatar m tn The following drugs are all i take, No more and no less. Fentanyl 50mcg. Tylenol3, Tylenol, Norflex, Ambien,Seroquel, Cymbalta, Ibuprofen and Naproxen. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Avatar n tn The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Best wishes.
Avatar f tn My sister started taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia and her appetite dropped a lot, and just a few months later she was pre-diabetic. I have read some other people's comments saying that going on or even going off of cymbalta has really messed up their blood sugar. some people even say that it made them diabetic. so if you are on cymbalta, just watch out for some of the pre-diabetes symptoms and tell your doctor about any weird eating habit changes that happen.
Avatar f tn Namaste, mcmcorp45 offers excellent information and advice and it is true that studies have shown that Cymbalta does note alter the reproduction process. If this is going to be your first child and you are having difficulties, I would consult with a doctor, who may need to refer you to a specialist as mcmcorp45 mentioned. Don't forget to have both parties evaluated for a possible problem.
