In other words, the milk before having something to drink is normal milk. You would not pump and dump that milk, it's fine. You pump and dump if the milk has alcohol in it, which only happens after drinking the alcohol.
Not saying you should be drinking, I had the same experience as specialmom when breastfeeding -- realizing I could not be off my mark at all when taking care of an infant. But that would be the way to do it if you did have something to drink.
I was told not to pump and dump, its better to wait it out because the alcohol content in breast milk will be the same as in your blood, as youre blood alcohol levels decrease so will the amount in the breast milk and pumping and dumping will just be a waste. My dr told me that its better to just wait it out and to pump a little every now and then and use these test strips from walmart.

dear, recently i went to a massage parlor and the lady massager gave me a massage using her breast. Test strips are a waste of money and pump and dump is a waste of milk. You can safely have one drink and nurse your baby. When baby's sleep schedule is pretty solid, you can have a couple of drinks after baby goes to bed, knowing that he/she won't wake up to be fed for several hours. If you are too tipsy to drive you have too much in your system to nurse and you'll have to wait it out. Keep drinking water. Moderation is your friend.
If he does accept it, then after a week or so, try doing a bottle mix of ½ breast milk, and ½ formulas. If you wish, you can gradually go to a bottle mix of ¼ breast milk and ¾ formulas, then totally to all formula depending on how he accepts it. This way you will use up the breast milk and he will get used to the formula taste. Once you are on formula and he is accepting it, do not reintroduce breast milk bottles. Try mixing the infant rice cereal with breast milk.
re only giving her breast milk even if I have to pump it. At first we did both formula and breast milk (she had tongue tied so it was excruciating to feed her) and she accepted both , but with the formula she would be a little more fussier than she is now with my milk. But now I really enjoy breastfeeding I feel closer to her. However like I said it depends on how your baby reacts to either or. I hope this helped.
I could be wrong....but if I remember correctly I read somewhere that the thc could be transferred through the breast milk and that you shouldn't smoke weed while breast feeding!!!! I was curious about it cause I wanted to smoke with my bf after baby got here...I'm going to breast feed as we'll but since I read that I will just wait til I'm done breast feeding.
