I am trying to conceive but I have pcos because I am insulin resistance with high testosterone, which cause me to light bleed everyday the bleeding is brownish in color and I kno this is not a true period.

I have not had this side affect with injections( but it did happen after perming my hair- bad, bad idea), but just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your upcoming cycle.........

but my body is telling me another story...I have had tests done....my LH is too high...so is my Testosterone...My periods are coming about 1 2/2 to 2 mos apart...sometimes 2 1/2 mos. My last specialist told me i will not coneive w/o fertlity meds...but i conceived my first son with nothing...not even a thought....I miscarried him at 19 wks 5dys....in 04. I have tried to relax and maybe it will just happen but I am stressed on the inside...! What is there to do!?

This month the dr started me on a new cocktail. 2 tab of Glumetza 1000mg, Femara 3 tab from 6-14. and another new drug that started with dex. It is to take out the extra testosterone in my blood. There were very happy to see the follicles as they haven't seen them before. I got back for bld work and U/s on sat.

I just started Clomid, but have heard there are other options. There is Femara which is like Clomid. There are also injectables like Follistem. Are you working with a fertility specialist? I would recommend you check into it if your insurance covers it. Hope this helps.

A question for you Femara ladies - did you notice any changes in when you ovulated while on Femara? I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. Does Femara make you O earlier, later, about the same? Thanks for any insight!

First, there are case reports of endometriosis being treated successfully by aromatase inhibitors, which is the class of drug femara is from. Second, femara results in a thicker, better looking endometrium, than clomid. On the other hand, femara is more likely to result in one egg being released, rather than multiple. I don't know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara?

I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.

So I went and had an HSG done on Friday and the doctor told me and showed me that my tubes and uterus are all clear. I was also unofficially diagnosed with PCOS last week too. I am trying hard to lose weight and eat better to help that. My question is (i know what a sono/hysto is) but is it painful??? As anyone gone through a whole month of fertility treatment and have gotten frustrated? We have been trying for 17 months and even when I was having regular cycle still no baby.

I didnt get any response from any healthcare providers on my Tamoxifen/Femara question regarding weight gain and loss. Can anyone answer that question for me.

I have been taking Femara the last 3 month, I also take metformin and esterdiol since my lining does not get thick enough on it's own. I have not gotten pregnant yet, but femara has worked great for getting my follicels ready. I have 3-4 follicles each month. I have PCOS and DH's morphology is on the low side, so there could be many reasons why I'm not pregnant yet. Good luck!

d like to discuss trying femara for this 6th cycle instead of clomid since it thinned my lining so much for this cycle. But..I want to know..can I expect the same type of results from femara as I have with clomid? On 100 mgs of clomid, I have had a mature follicle ready for trigger on Days 10 and 11. Thoughts? and got pregnant on that (+ follistim) and IUI , it was our third round of femara.. like everyone said, the nice thing about femara is the side effects are few and tolerable, it doens't thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!

So I am getting ready to start Femara on my next cycle...Clomid not working. Anyway I was wondering who is on or has been on it and when and how much did you have to take? I have done alot of research on it but I am just wondering why women are on such different doses and cd to take them? Is it just up to the individual DR.? Has anyone had success with Femara?? Hi,thank you very much for your replies.Any way I got my period and purchased femara with doctor's prescription.Actually my periods are irregular.Doctor asked me to use femara after i got period.So before period I was normally searched online femara tablets and costs.Now I am using femara which were given by doctor's prescription.In the same hospital pharmacy only I took the femara tablets.Once again thank you.

So, I took Femara for the first time this cycle - 10 pills on CD7 (he'd rather do them on CD3, but since my cycles have been running long, he took a chance). Anyway, I've been waking up with rather severe tummyaches and intestinal cramps and also getting massive headaches (borderline migraines) in the afternoon.... Could this be due to the Femara?

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

We will be moving on to 5mg of Femara Cd 4 - 8 and then menopur CD 9 - 11. Then trigger and IUI. Has anyone had success with this? Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???

Hi babydust, I got pregnant on my first cycle of Femara a little over a month ago, which was my first cycle after a m/c in November. I've heard that women can be more fertile after a m/c, so whether it was due to the m/c or the Femara I really don't know. But I've read a lot of promising stuff about Femara, so good luck to you!

It is very hard to ascertain if Femara can directly cause fibromyalgia, since this condition or side effect is not routinely reported or classified in the clinical trials that used Femara. What Femara does, however, is that it can have a side effect in bone metabolism causing decreased bone mineralization that can cause bone pains and sometimes may lead to increased incidence of fractures.
