femara ovidrel

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. It would just be nice to know if this has worked for someone and if it has, how well.

Tried naturally until this month (clomid made my crazy) when we did the femara 2.5 mg 5-9 and thhe ovidrel trigger. Next month if this doesn't work (crossing my fingers) we are gonna try the femara with IUI. Any advice or tips?

Not with Clomid, but I did Femara which is very similar to Clomid. In my second cycle of Femara we combinded it with Ovidrel, and I am now 5 weeks pregnant. Good luck!

Thanks alikat. Is it any better than ovidrel?? I mean ovidrel is just to release the follicle right...which was happening in my case...does this medicine do anything different?

I don't know what Ovidrel is, is that the trigger shot? I took Menopur, femara and Novarel together (I think Novarel is the same as Ovidrel).

t until July, he has recommended we try Femara (2.5mg 2x/day). After researching online, Femara is typically used to treat breast cancer. However, research has suggested there is a higher success rate with Femara vs. Clomid. Along with Femara, we are going to continue the Ovidrel shot. Ask you doctor about this. Maybe this could be an option for you and your husband. Good luck!!

I will be relaxed if I get some encouragement from you. Is there anyone who has success of Femara and Ovidrel in the first cycle or how many cycles does it usually require? Please help. Baby dust to all again!!!

It all depends I took femara one cycle with injectable (ovidrel) & an iui & worked on the first try. I'm 5 weeks & 3 days today. Clomid works but not for everyone clomid often thickens the cervical mucus which makes it hard for the sperm to swim to contect to the egg. I was taking tussin as well my last cycle of clomid but it didn't work. I had 6 cycles of clomid three solo & three with iui's. I wish you the best of luck.

I got pregnant my 2nd month taking Femara, unfortunatley that pregnancy was a blighted ovim. I started the Femara up again and just finished my 3rd month. I take 2.5 mg on days 3-7. Good luck! It really does work!

This is my first cycle using femara and the ovidrel shot. I am currently in my 2ww. I took a hpt just to see if I would get a false positive to see if the ovidrel was still in my system. It has only be 7 days since the shot and I got a bfn. Did the shot not work? Do I still have a chance to get a bfp? Should I be worried? Can anyone share their experiences positive or negative?

I am scheduled for Saturday to have a follicle scan and to find out when to take the ovidrel. I was just wondering if anyone else has achieved pregnancy this way. Also i am nervous about the injection.

Hi Ladies! I have a question about Letrozole. I used Clomid for the past 3 months and ovulated, but had no luck getting pregnant. I had an HSG last month (November) and this month my new Dr. put me on Letrozole. I had an appointment and u/s yesterday (CD 14) and they said my follicles were not big enough and to get the Ovidrel shot and that I should "sit out" this month and call my Dr. on Monday to see what she thinks as far as where to go from here.

I am currently on Femara and Gonal F and patiently waiting for follicles to get a bit bigger before getting trigger Ovidrel shot and IUI. I currently have 2 follicles growing and they are at 1.7 today. I ovulate on my own usually. How many follicles have you had on similar treatment?? I thought it would be more than 2 but does the fact that I have one more than usual increase my chance with IUI by a lot?

Last cycle I did 50mg of Clomid and had abnormal bleeding so had to move to Femara and I am happy to say I responded to Femara with no side effects! I plan on testing on 10 dpo (Feb 1st)! So anyone else waiting to test please comment below! Its going to be a long two weeks but we can do it!!!!

I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.

I was Gonal F for the first time last cycle - it was combined with Femara, trigger shot (Ovidrel) and IUI. I'm still in the TWW, but should find out if it worked on Friday!!! Will let you know!

i just conceived on a round of femara and ovidrel, and am now four weeks pregnant and my cm has not changed one bit but i'm definitely pregnant! hang in there, tons of baby dust!

So I took one month off and decided to give Femara a try before injectables (if needed). So, who here got p/g taking Femara? Trigger ? IUI? etc.... and how many cycles did you do? I'm excited to try something new that could really work, so I'm wanting a bit of good hope!!!

I recently switched doctors and am getting ready to start my first cycle of femara. I am taking 2.5mg two times a day of femara/letrozole and 1500mg a day metformin. Is that normal. I have been asked to begin my femara protocl today...only diff this time is that I go in for my next US on CD10 instead of 12 as my follicle grow to 28mm by then. So this time they want to capture and trigger it earlier, and that too with Novarel and not Ovidrel. Is having 2 that big follicles on cd3 normal? Do u think these changes in the protocol will help me get pregnant?

t think personally that I am responding to the Ovidrel. Even with the Ovidrel my progesterone test indicated that I did not ovulate. I was wondering if there was anything else out there like Ovidrel that might work better?

I injected myself with Ovidrel last cycle (and got a BFP!!!), and found it to be much easier to do and had less side effects than Novarel, the HCG shot I had taken before. It's easy-peasy! But, you will have to wait about 10 days before POAS in order to get an accurate result. Even though the dosage looks lower than 10,000 units, it metabolises slower than other HCG shots, so it still takes 10 days at least.

follistim + femara, trigger (novarel) and IUI worked for us! after i think 19 months or so of TTC... we have pretty bad male factor, severe endo, pcos and one ovary, so we have just a few things going against us! the follistim is really really easy to use ( i did the shot in my stomach) the needle is soooo small that you really can't feel it.. i did get some headaches, but thats the only side effects i had.. the fact that you've been pregnant and carried to term is a great sign!

I took Femara CD 3 - 7 and Gonal-F starting on CD 7 until today, CD13. I went in for an ultrasound today and was told that my lining is 10, and I have 3 follicles. 1 at 15.5 and 2 at 14.5. This is my first med cycle. I got pregnant in August spontaneously and had a m/c at 6 weeks. "normally" without meds I ovulate on day 14. At this point they would like me to continue to take the Gonal-F for 3 more days to get the follicles to 17 before the IUI procedure.

I am going to take GONAL - F tonight.. and trigger shot (Ovidrel) tomorrow. Does it really help to grow another follicle with one dose of GONAL-F??

t remember everything. Did you do double iui? did you take a ovidrel shot? did you have your iui 24 hours after the shot? did you bd after iui? did you rip and run after this iui? Thanks in advance.
