Hi i started femara 2.5 mg on june 18 (days 3-7) and my cycles normally come every 24 days. I am now 3 days passed due. I have taken a pregnancy test which was negative. Any suggestions ?

The only thing I can think of is possibly increasing your dose? How many mg are you taking and on which days? I know some doctors start you on 2.5 mg per day, but it can be increased to 5 or even 7.5 mg (I think). I was on 5 mg on days 3-7 and had an ultrasound during one month that showed one 20mm follie, so that dose worked for me. Of course, everyone is different. I would definitely talk to your RE.

So this is my first medicated cycle, femara 2.5mg once a day... (cd3-7) i'm on cd8 and I've been having some right sided twinges like i get around O time, is that normal?? I'm also having a lot of CM almost EWCM, but not quite... is there a chance I could be Oing early? i havnet tried taking an OPK (i had heard that femara can give you false positives, anyone know if thats true?) I'm due for a follie check on tuesday with a trigger and then IUI..

I also took Femara 5 mg/day on days 3-7. I have read that doctors usually start you on 2.5 or 5 mg and then increase it by increments of 2.5 if the lower dosage doesn't work. I have taken both Clomid and Femara and have to say that I liked the Femara much better. Not as many side effects (except headaches) and I just overall felt better. It definitely helped me produce a nice follie and definitely O every time.

Eventually a few months later I get to an actual fertility specialist. He put me on femara 2.5mg twice a day. I had no side effects from femara, whereas with clomid the side effects were terrible (moody, hot flashes, sore boobs, etc) femara was wonderful compared to clomid! my first cycle on femara I did not ovulate, but on my second round of femara i used hcg injection and got pregnant that way. good luck!!

I am taking Femara and I am on 5 mg cd3-7 I would love to hear any sucess stories and how long before you got that BFP. If you were taking anything else with it. I am also taking metforin 500mg a day. I also have PCOS. Share your good news here.

I got pregnant my 2nd month taking Femara, unfortunatley that pregnancy was a blighted ovim. I started the Femara up again and just finished my 3rd month. I take 2.5 mg on days 3-7. Good luck! It really does work!

Took my 1st Femara today. Got my results back and my FSH is 7.2, Estradiol is 51 and LH is 2.7. Anyone had any experience with Femara?

Last cycle I did 50mg of Clomid and had abnormal bleeding so had to move to Femara and I am happy to say I responded to Femara with no side effects! I plan on testing on 10 dpo (Feb 1st)! So anyone else waiting to test please comment below! Its going to be a long two weeks but we can do it!!!!

Hi, I tried Femara 2.5 mg.. CD 3-7 had my surge on CD14 BD on CD 15-16.. but no success for us .. I did just call RE and ask to be put on higher dose CD 5-10 .. Maybe that will work for me... I did have severe headache for 3 days.. then they went away.. I hope you get your BFP..... Im 42 soo maybe thats why its not working for me.....? Mary..:) God Bless...

i think there are several of us on here that have gotten preg with femara.. i took two cycles of femara without any luck (but we were told due to our issues including male factor we would need IVF.. so this wasn't a shock) but then the 3rd IUI did femara + injectables and it did work.. i have endometriosis and they really like femara for endo patients as well.. it doesn't thin the lining like clomid.. did your doctor do an ultrasound to check how many follies you had?

Clomid 4th and final round I will be starting fourth round at 250 mg I almost ovulated last time on 200 mg so I hope the extra 50 mg will do the trick.

had an abortion8 months back and since then i have been trying to conceive..took clomid 50 mg.. there was a mature egg took hcg.i dint get pregnant. my husband semen analysis showed no problem. then started clomid 50 mg again and 100mg.. egg did not grow beyond 10 mm.now my doc has put me on letrozole....as this is an anticancer drug it worries me and as side effects i has birth defects in babies.i dont know if i should take it or not???and wht if its does not work.

in the past i used clomid/menopur with a trigger shot. this month, he switched to femara/menopur with a trigger. what is different about femara? I got 3 follies first cycle, and 4 last cycle. what would the difference be with femara? any side effects?

Hello! Sounds like just switching from clomid to femara can help! clomid is known to thin the lining.. it depends when in your cycle you had those measurements.. also sometimes your utuerus can contract from the ultrasound and cause your lining to appear thinner than it is.....I know that sometimes people go on estrogen patches ( i think its to help the lining, but not 100%) but your dr has to measure your estrogen to check that first.. also progesterone in the 2ww helps as well!

I also took 2.5 mg of Femara for four days followed by HCG trigger. Did you do IUI or IVF? I had IUI and spotted slightly same day of procedure. Then spotted slightly again one week after IUI. I will not know outcome until another 4 days at least w/ HPT and w/ bloodwork at DR's for at least 6 days. I will keep you posted.

I have started with letrozole (also known as femara) 5 mg days 5-9 (am on day6 today) ..i really hope it works because i was on clomid for two cycles and it made me overstimulated and at the same time thinned my uterine lining:( Does femara make you ovulate earlier? My RE said to come for the ultrasound on day12...would that be too late?
