t know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara? Are your periods irregular without a medicine that helps you to ovulate? Does your MD think it may help keep the endometriosis at bay?

Hi,thank you very much for your replies.Any way I got my period and purchased femara with doctor's prescription.Actually my periods are irregular.Doctor asked me to use femara after i got period.So before period I was normally searched online femara tablets and costs.Now I am using femara which were given by doctor's prescription.In the same hospital pharmacy only I took the femara tablets.Once again thank you.

Femara like other medicine it also cause some good effect along with some other side effects.

In my last 4 cycles on 5md Femara CD3-7, I have always had a super sized mature follicle ranging 28mm to 32 mm on CD14 averagely. Maybe increasing ur dose might help, coz u reached 16 once - right?

I hear ya about the being drained!! sometimes i just want to feel like a "normal" person and live my life and not have to worry constantly about ttc, where i am in my cycle am i preg etc etc etc!!! it defintely gets old, BUT is hopefully all worth it in the end! MANY people get preg on femara, everyones bodies respond differently.. you can come join us on the femara group, there are a bunch of us on there..

I haven't asked but I was going to start it after the Femara....the Femara only stays in your system for a day so i wanted to wait until a couple of days after my last pill but i don't want to make a mess of things lol.

I did not do u/s with Femara. I did with Clomid because it is common to get cysts on it. Femara did not cause me any problems that I needed to monitor with u/s. I did not trigger either.

Hi. I've heard GREAT things about Femara. I'm a believer in supplementing traditional medicine with natural therapies as well. This cycle I started doing a self fertility massage, and it is said to help with many things including unexplained fertility. I got a DVD on Amazon for 30 bucks, but you can also have a massage therapist teach you the techniques. (the DVD is cheaper, plus in your own home) as far as results I've noticed.

I am have another 2 weeks before my RE can put me on clomid..I will ask him about the medicine femara.. and a stronger trigger 10,000units of hcg..when it is time...go away cysts I want to get pregnant soon.....

I took Femara cd 2-6 and did u/s today, cd10. I think doc said she saw 3 follicles total, 16mm, 13 and 8(?); 4th one not open. She said that's fine but doesn't think I will ovulate until Friday or Saturday (cd 14 or 15). And no need to use OPKs until Wednesday. My DH and I started BD this am, but now think we can wait again until Wednesday. She said once I see any color on the OPK test line that we should BD every other day.

I wanted to know, is it always effective to take this medicine . I also suffer from PCOS. I am on second cycle now and had my MC on CD27 with pre-menstrual discharge on CD26. It lasted for 4days only , so how do i get to know if I actually ovulated or not ? I used OPKs on CD 10 and CD11 both in the evenings but got very faint line so cant even depend on that to know what happening in my body? Is there anyone else who has similar issues ?

I have been on tamoxifen and currently on femara. I was having major depression and weight gain with the femara so I took a one month break from the meds (with dr approval). Within a few days, I felt mentally and physically more like my old self (pre-cancer). Unfortunately, I cannot stay off the medicine due to having lymph node involvement. However, during week 3 of no meds, I noticed a bloody discharge one night and then had a light period for the next several days.

After my HSG was normal, I had a review with my Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Femara from the 3rd day of my cycle for 5 days and has asked me to take an Ovidrel shot. They are monitoring me on Blood work and Ultrasound to make sure I ovulate and then have the Inter on time. Please help I am very anxious and I have started thinking more about this. I want to be relaxed adn just not worry about this but the moment I am free, I think of it.

I am already prone to migraines so this medicine definately makes me have more of them. Femara is better for you than Clomid becayse it does not thin your lining as much. On my first cycle, I made one mature follicle and they gave me an Ovidrel (HCG) shot to release the egg. We did not conceive so the next cycle produced 2 follicles-one on each ovary (14mm and 17mm). Follicles need to be at least 18mm so I went back the next day for my shot to give them a little more time to mature.

I am all but in remission myself from taking an aromotase inhibitor similar to Femara. I tried Femara, but it didn't agree with me, so I switched to Aromasin, which works the same way. If your mother is achieving remission from Femara, then I would ask the 3 doctors recommending chemotherapy why they recommend it. Do you know if her cancer cells are low grade or high grade? If they are high grade, then chemo is more than likely a good choice, side effects and all.

It looks like we're pretty much on the same schedule! I also took the same drug on days 3-7 and have my follicle scan on Friday. I previously took Clomid for a few months and had the injection once then, but not since I've been on the Letrazole (Femara). I've seen a lot of success stories on here with this combination, so that's why I requested the ultrasound/injection this month. I don't know how much needles bother you, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.

s, I am 41 yrs and do no ovulate, before ivf was on clomid and after 3 rounds it gave me a cyst so my dr is reluctant to put me back on this medicine. Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

Imagine the hamster preggos running aways seeing a fertility medicine makers is approching her to make ovidrel. On the other had another medicine maker is hiding in the toilet to collect unie of any preggo woman coming in..... No offence to any profession please...just kidding!! But in a way novodrel should be better since it is from a uman body...right? even though they do the same thin...

I'm wondering if there is anything new regarding the relationship between Femara and trigger fingers and arthritis of the hands? I've read some older posts but don't see anything current. I have been taking Femara since Dec 2009 and started having pain in my hands and trigger fingers two months ago (Feb, 2011) I had injections for the trigger fingers which seem to help and then not. The changes are making me crazy.

I am sorry for your struggles. Do you mean conceiving with small follicles (not ovaries)? If so, the follicles need to be a certain size to be considered mature. If they're too small, chances are very slim that you can get pregnant. If gonal-f did not work work for you, I would ask you doctor for a different type of medicine...maybe even clomid, which is much less invasive (it's a pill) and also much cheaper. Good luck to you!

We tried until March 09 then we gave up. Doctor put me all kind of fertility medicine such as Clomid 100mg, Femara, Estradiol, Prometrium, Repronex, Follistim.. We tried and tried and nothing happen. We even tried 2 IUI and not success.. In April the doctor told me take a break and he will perform laparoscopic surgery on 04/17/09. We will try again in June 09. The surgery went fine. Everything inside of me look good inside and nothing stopping me not to conceive...

You must be thinking I am nuts, but to be honest I have switched from Traditional Medicine [Oncology] to Alternative Medicine. One of my oncologists who is a friend does my lab work to make sure I am doing the right things and that my tumor markers, ER; PR and HER2Neu are alright. You have 6 weeks ahead till you visit your oncologist, do some research and investigate what your chances are if you do as I have and switch to Alternative Medicine.

A question for you Femara ladies - did you notice any changes in when you ovulated while on Femara? I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. Does Femara make you O earlier, later, about the same? Thanks for any insight!

s are doing for me. I have been placed on Femara 2.5 1x a day as well as Aygestin 1x a day. I am staying on this for 3 months. From what I understand there are alot of studies out there suggesting Femara reduces the swelling, etc. After the 3 months once I get my AF back, I will continue on Femara/iui for 3-4 months before moving on to IVF. The combination of drugs puts your body into a "menopausal" state.

I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.
