I was Gonal F for the first time last cycle - it was combined with Femara, trigger shot (Ovidrel) and IUI. I'm still in the TWW, but should find out if it worked on Friday!!! Will let you know!

I've noticed that since I've begun fertility meds such as Clomid, Femara, Gonal F, etc.... my hair has been falling out. Not large chunks of hair, but strands - enough that I've noticed and so has my hair dresser. It's not breakage, it comes from the root. I don't have bald spots and according to my hair dresser it's not alarming to her, but it is to me. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, are you doing anything to correct it?

Your next step is injectibles with IUI or timed BD. But because you have Pcos you have the risk of growing many follicles while on injectibles and you cannot release all of them cause you can have hyperstimulation. I did six rounds of clomit and ovulated only once. Then i went to an Re and he put me on a combo of clomit+injectibles.I did this thing three times and got pregnant all three. The first two unfortunately ended in m/c and i'm currently preggo again.

Jan 2012 ... repeated meds.. Femara 5mg. CD 2-6, Gonal F 75IU on CDs 7-9.. U/s Day 11.. leading follicle size 11mm..... FRUSTRATED!!!! Is there any hope that an upped dosage of Gonal F would make them grow further?? Has anyone else been in this situation??

I used menopur together with Gonal-F; that is a very common protocol. I rersponded well. How well did you respond to Gonal-F? Gonal-F is just FSH hormone while Menopur is 50% FSH and 50% LH. If you responded well to Gonal-F Menopur is just a variation on the same theme. I hope higher dosage works better for you. p.s. You may want to post your Q on Fertility forum.

I took Femara CD 3 - 7 and Gonal-F starting on CD 7 until today, CD13. I went in for an ultrasound today and was told that my lining is 10, and I have 3 follicles. 1 at 15.5 and 2 at 14.5. This is my first med cycle. I got pregnant in August spontaneously and had a m/c at 6 weeks. "normally" without meds I ovulate on day 14. At this point they would like me to continue to take the Gonal-F for 3 more days to get the follicles to 17 before the IUI procedure.

He put my on gonal-f after clomid thinned my lining. My lining has been much better on gonal-f. I am just starting my 3rd cycle now. Good luck!

I am going to take GONAL - F tonight.. and trigger shot (Ovidrel) tomorrow. Does it really help to grow another follicle with one dose of GONAL-F??

I am currently on Femara and Gonal F and patiently waiting for follicles to get a bit bigger before getting trigger Ovidrel shot and IUI. I currently have 2 follicles growing and they are at 1.7 today. I ovulate on my own usually. How many follicles have you had on similar treatment?? I thought it would be more than 2 but does the fact that I have one more than usual increase my chance with IUI by a lot?

i havebeen trying to have a baby for the past two years but was not successfull. tried stimulant drug gonal-f to stimulat my follicules but would not grow so my doctor suggest donor eggs. have anyone been successfull with conceiving with small ovaries. please reach out.

It has made me ovulate but I have not gotten pregnant. I am currently taking femara and it has not made me ovulate. Gonal F worked for me a year ago but I lost the baby at 5 months. Clomid is usually the first method of help as far as I know. I know it is not used only for ivf. good luck to you.

Well thsi is cd1 for me and startind Gonal F and Menopur and Ovidril this cycle day 3 this will be IUI number three anyone with me so I can have a cycle buddy?

Hi everyone Saw the Dr today and were told that we do in fact have unexplained fertility. He recommended Femara x 5 days starting tonight. Then overlap with Gonal F injections starting day 6, then when follicles are mature, Ovidrel injection and IUI x 2. Then if pregnancy I'll take Progesterone for the first while (can't remember how long) Has anyone done something similar? Just curious. I'm 39 so he said this is the best way and We should try for 3 cycles. Hope this works!!

I have to say, that would make me worried, too. I can't help but think that some of the IUIs I had in my 30s didn't work just because of bad timing. I'm pretty sure that Gonal-F and Femara are follicle stimulators, but that's just me trying to figure it out from the list the clinic gave me, and maybe they do more than one job. And they've been monitoring you, and you'll be watching things with the OPK, so everything should be fine. I'll cross all my fingers for you.

Hi there, I too just had my first IUI with Gonal-F. I'm currently in the 2ww, so I don't have a BFP to give you, but I'm sure hoping. I took Femara on CD 3 - 7 and Gonal-F on day 7. I had a nice thick lining and 3 follies ready. The timing seemed perfect, so I'm sure thinking good thoughts. I did not have any side effects from the Gonal-F at all, and they definately helped make great follies.

I had already decided that I was only going to do 2 more cycles of gonal-f + iui before moving to ivf. My RE had suggested 6-8 cycles of gonal-f before moving to ivf. I would have gone to ivf sooner but have no insurance coverage for it, so wanted to give iui a good try first. Good luck. Don't lose hope!

Im on my second month of gonal-f injections(1st month 75iu & 2nd 150iu) and my only real side effect was headaches! Also, I'm sure you are starting on a lower dose...I'm thinking those bad side effects are for the lager doses!

I had u/s monitoring on femara, but I also used gonal-f injections. I had between 2 and 3 follicles each month that were considered "matured". My RE told me that once they hit the size of 11 they would continue to mature. Occasionally I would have 1 or 2 that were under and basically were useless in the cycle. I had u/s's on cd 3 and cd 10 ALWAYS. CD 3 was to let them know if there were any residual cysts and if I was cleared to start on the cycle.

Tried Gonal F injections this month as we would have done AI but got cancelled due to low estrogen levels.

t double and I had a m/c. I then went to a fertility clinic and have been using femara and gonal-f since September and doing IUI's. I got cysts in November and had to go on birth control pills, it was a mess and I was depressed. I started acupuncture and herbs again beginning of december. She told me that she could get rid of the cysts....well she did, AND i just got a call from the RE and I'm PG again.

I am doing gonal f for the first time with the pen. I dialed it to the right dosage and gave the shot. Am I still suppose to see clear liquid at the bottom of the shot???

Hi There, Gonal F definitely helped. 18 good follicles were retrieved all between sizes 18 and 21. I took this together with Lucrin, up to the ER. Took Gonal for about 5 days and they follies just grew and grew. Good luck.

I had more follicles with the Femara then I have ever had with any other drug I have tried. I tried Gonal-F about 5 years ago and I did not have that many follicles so I am thinking that the Femara is the best route for me. Or so I hope. Good luck with it.

Hi, I was on Gonal F and Menopur and took Chinese herbs prescribed by my acupuncturost during one of my IVF cycles and produced the poorest quality of embryos (had 4 IVFs in total). There hasnt been a lot of studies on the combination of chinese herbs and western medicine and there have been suggestions that they may not work well together. I just thought I'd share my experience with you, as I truly regret that particular cycle. I would also highly recommend acupuncture. SSBD to all..
