femara for unexplained infertility

Has anyone had any luck with taking femara for unexplained infertility? I'm 29 and have been off the pill since March 2009, actively TTC since November 2009. DH's counts are normal, my tubes are open, I ovulate on my own and my uterine lining is good. RE is having me start femara this cycle (days 3-7). Has anyone had luck with taking femara (without IUI) for unexplained infertility?

I took Femara and got pregnant when also doing injections. I had unexplained infertility. It appeared my eggs were not maturing on their own and I kept getting cysts. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. My treatment was femara, injection for 3 days, HCG shot and IUI. Your doctor will find a treatment that will work for you. Keep your hopes up. I remember choosing to not be stressed out about whether I was going to get a positive or not and it worked for me. Good Luck!!!

IIf you do have unexplained infertility it doesn't mean that you can't have a baby. I have unexplained infertility, all tests point to healthy eggs, ovaries, and I ovulate. Are you seeing an RE? I went to a gyno for 11 months and he had me on Femara. I went to an RE and was pregnant within 3 months, he increased my doesage and ordered a trigger with timed BD. Have you had an HSG?

We have been trying for 5 years, I had a laproscopy investigation a year ago which showed no visible probs so we have unexplained infertility. I am taking the fertility drug clomid as bloodtests showed I ovulate some mths but not others. My friend was diagnosed with severe endometriosis when she was 27, she is now 41 and has three lovely children, they managed to conceive 3 seperate times. Any you having any treatment? We've considering iui's or ivf.

Hi! I am 31y.o. and have unexplained infertility. Have had a laproscopy and cromotubation and tons of blood work and I am perfectly healthy and beyond perfect for conception. Except for the fact that I can't conceive. My husband is perfect also. We've tried clomid for 4mos. and letrozole plus iui last month and tested this morning and got a neg hpt. I'm starting to lose hope. Has anyone else been here??

my gn says i have unexplained infertility, ive been ttc for 2yrs on femara and ovidrol, been waiting to do an IUI for the past 3cycles , but there was X mas then i had a laproscopy to see if they could find anything, and nothing, then my gn went away for 3 weeks so finally hes back, feb 25th , im doing thed IUI next cycle for sure, i had a child when i was 16 and my parents raised him, now im 35 and married and dying to be a mother, i lost my right tube 14 yrs ago in an etopic preg but havent go

I have unexplained infertility also... I've had all the tests and they can't find any cause for it.... We decided to go with IUI. My son is now 6 months old and we are trying IUI again to have another. best of luck to you!!

Anyone get pregnant using femara/letrozole after being given unexplained infertility diagnosis? How many months did you take it before you got your positive? Me: 28 Hubby: 30 Sperms analysis perfect, laparoscopy perfect, all tests for ovulation and ultrasounds looked perfect. Trying since 2012 no pregnancy yet This is my 2nd cycle on femara, next ovulation expected on 1/14. If 3rd cycle not successful, will do iui with femara anyone else done this and got pregnant? ?

Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?

Hi there, Femara is a drug which is very effective fertility treatment for women with ovulation problems, or for those with unexplained infertility. It causes increase in the output of FSH and has also been used as an alternative to clomiphene. The chances of conceiving are improved if no other fertility issues are present, the female partner is under 35 years old and a woman who was not ovulating starts ovulating. Do consult your attending doctor for more queries and suggestions.

I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! Thanks.

t help being angry at my husband for not wanting to try sooner...maybe we still would have encountered unexplained infertility, but at least we would have known sooner. I also can't help but think that there's a good chance we wouldn't have had any problems TTC since our infertility IS unexplained and we were younger...am I alone in this boat? Anyone else a little resentful of their husband for a similar reason?

I used it for 6 days but at around 225/300 units per day. You had mentioned that you might be doing 400 which is high. These pens are super expensive. They are about $1000- each.

Hi!! WE are also unexplained and been ttc for 2yrs 2 mos. We've had all the blood work, semen ana., tubes flushed and a Lap, been on clomid for 3 cycles and just finished last round of Femara(letrozole)3 cycles and done our 2nd iui on may 2. I o on my own have plenty of eggs and dh's sperm is great and above normal and thats after about 36hrs of abstanice. My uterus lining is great at o time (8.9).

I had/have unexplained infertility. We've had all the tests done and they could not find a cause for my infertility. We did two cycles with trigger and bding and did not get pg. We've done three cycles with trigger and IUI. I got pg twice but the first time didn't work out. I'm now 34wks pg. For us bding wasn't working for whatever reason and we wanted to take a more aggresive approach. best of luck to you..

I have been also put onto femara not injectable but better than clomid for some people. It only matures egg's that are good so generally only one at a time and dosen't think the uterus lining out like clomid. I am currenky doing this femara with iui. Had my first one no luck but sure this second one is going to work. Femara also seems to be helping my cycle as well. Ps. Was given ovidel injection for release of egg.

Unexplained infertility is frustrating... Infertility in general is frustrating. It can be so easy for some to get pregnant, and can seem like mission impossible for others!!! How thin was your lining? If it truly is too thin, then perhaps you should avoid the clomid and just stick with injections. Hang in there and stay positive! Hopefully we will soon see BFPs!!!

I was also on clomid to increase the # of eggs and quality. I am now on femara for the same thing since it doesn't have the side effects that clomid does. All our tests are great and i o on my own and never have a late period we are just unexplained infertility. So the meds are just to try to increase our chances. Hope that helps.

I've taken Femara for about five months. I took Femara on CD3-CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 for three months in a row. Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and IUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.
