5mg two times a day of femara/letrozole and 1500mg a day metformin. I am curious about side effects, advice, success stories, etc. I am anxious and have been TTC for 3 years total, 2 with a doctors assistance. THANK YOU in advance.

I took Femara and got pregnant when also doing injections. I had unexplained infertility. It appeared my eggs were not maturing on their own and I kept getting cysts. I am now 19 weeks pregnant. My treatment was femara, injection for 3 days, HCG shot and IUI. Your doctor will find a treatment that will work for you. Keep your hopes up. I remember choosing to not be stressed out about whether I was going to get a positive or not and it worked for me. Good Luck!!!

Hey ladies! I just finished my Femara on Sunday. Was wondering about any success stories or how it has worked for them. This is my first month with it from Clomid and a miscarraige. Any info or input?

my gn says i have unexplained infertility, ive been ttc for 2yrs on femara and ovidrol, been waiting to do an IUI for the past 3cycles , but there was X mas then i had a laproscopy to see if they could find anything, and nothing, then my gn went away for 3 weeks so finally hes back, feb 25th , im doing thed IUI next cycle for sure, i had a child when i was 16 and my parents raised him, now im 35 and married and dying to be a mother, i lost my right tube 14 yrs ago in an etopic preg but havent go

Unexplained infertility for 1.5 years. I am not sure what could be the reason for my infertility , it might be endo but they didn't do a laparo for me yet. If anyone can tell me what other options do I have if Clomid failed?? So what worked for you ?

Has anyone had any succes!?!?!? whould love to har your stories... He saiys if this doesn't work we need to try injections...

I HATE those stories. If the cure to infertility was to stop trying, infertility clinics would be out of business. I guess if you try naturally for long enough you may actually win the lotto. It probably also depends on how severe your infertility issues are. best of luck to you.

Have asked before but want to hear of any positive stories using letrozole(femara) to help with ovulation, this drug is primarily a drug used to help with breast cancer and is still in research stage for fertility problems, my dr is talking with other gp's because is not happy to prescribe it to me.

nothing worked 6 miscarriages later,we started fertilitea tea.Oh and made hubby take fertilaid for men,zinc very good for sperm (he had low morhology) vit e also good for sperm and vit c.yep he was rattling like a chemist,the tea tastes disqusting.but it worked,and im now 19 weeks pregnant.i recommend the tea for all.sorry long,but want to give you all hope.

I just finished taking Clomid for three months and no pregancy. I had a lap and am going to start taking Femara to try and concieve. Hopefully this works. I am just wondering if anyone else has taken Femara and what it was like ie side effects/pregnancy?! Thanks.

I just finished my 5th cycle of clomid (waiting for af to show..got negative beta on Wed.). My lining was so thin last cycle (4.2 on day of trigger) that my RE took me off the clomid. I asked about doing femara for this next cycle but she doesn't use it in her practice anymore because she had low success rates with it.

Ive taken Femara. Many many success stories. I have now currently preg after only cycle. :) people try for a very long time , even with clomid they don't have any luck. But femara is a miracle drug . lol Even tho this does not answer your question. Sorry .

We are trying ttc again but the birth of my 2nd son in Oct 2008 was a great success story! We ttc'd for 14 months, 8 months on our own and then went to OB, took Femara for 3 months no luck, went to RE. The RE Doubled my Femara dosage, HSG and Ovidrel shot and we were pregnant within 3 months.We have unexplained fertility so we have no idea what the problem is for us.

it is really rough on your stomach to start off with, but you get used to it & it gets better over time. I was up to 1500mg daily when I conceived last time and stayed on it (along w/ progesterone) for the 1st trimester - now, after 4 mc, I have a beautiful baby girl who is 4 weeks old!! stick with it - there is a reason you were put on it!

I have unexplained infertility, all tests point to healthy eggs, ovaries, and I ovulate. Are you seeing an RE? I went to a gyno for 11 months and he had me on Femara. I went to an RE and was pregnant within 3 months, he increased my doesage and ordered a trigger with timed BD. Have you had an HSG?

I've taken Femara for about five months. I took Femara on CD3-CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 for three months in a row. Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and IUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.

however, we have been actively trying, charting BBT, etc. for the past 15 months without success. I am hoping that the RE appointment will bring with it good news and eventually good results! Thanks again for sharing your experiences with this journey!

This is my 3rd cycle. Any one with success stories on femara 7.5 from day 2 to 6and menopur 75 from day 3to7. Had scan today and menopur was increased to 150.

Not to sound discouraging but clomid never worked for me. I took the highest dosage allowed by the FDA and still did not ovulate. Now, for a positive note, I am taking Femara. A lot of people don't like this idea; however, it has been proven that the femara is out of your system long before you conceive and there is no risk of birth defects. Keep Femara in mind if Clomid doesn't work for you.

I'm starting Follistim Pen my next cycle, and am really excited about it!! I'm just looking for some success stories! I'm confident this will be our ticket to getting our BFP! We did clomid for 5 cycles, all bfn. I took this cycle off, and am anxious to get to my next so I can start these injections! So any success stories or advice with Follistim is greatly appreciated! I just had an ovarian cyst rupture on Sunday, not knowing what had happened I went to my OBGYN yesterday and he did an US and found that this is what it was.

I was on Clomid for a while with Metformin with less than adequate results. The first round of Femara I had 3 good follicles(can't remember sizes) and the HCG trigger on Saturday morning and then IUI on Sunday evening. My husband has excellet counts and motility, there was a brief issue with the morphology but that is even great now.
