A very good friend of mine ( and mother of 3 ) had PCOS and is quite thin and fit--she has a lovely complexion too. If you were my patient, the first thing I would do is to (after checking the pregnancy test which I ALWAYS do ) treat you with 5 days of Prometrium. This medication should start your period and "clean out" your uterus. Then, I would start you on Metformin and Femara.

Doctor put me all kind of fertility medicine such as Clomid 100mg, Femara, Estradiol, Prometrium, Repronex, Follistim.. We tried and tried and nothing happen. We even tried 2 IUI and not success.. In April the doctor told me take a break and he will perform laparoscopic surgery on 04/17/09. We will try again in June 09. The surgery went fine. Everything inside of me look good inside and nothing stopping me not to conceive... The major factor is my age..

Your problems are nearly identical to mine, and I do have a 2 year old son. I got pregnant by luck, according to my dr. We didn't realize I had signs of PCOS and annovulation, until I've been trying to get pregnant the second time. I too had ovarian cysts at 17 and was on the pill until I was 24, and got pregnant pretty quickly after we started trying. This time I've been off the pill since Feb, and it's been frustrating.

I took follistim, ganirelix, and ovidrel injections. I am now on estrace and prometrium tablets. I spent close to $1100 on medications alone. My insurance does not cover any meds. I did not notice any s/e, not even bruising. I developed 6 follicles. By day of ovulation, I lost 1 follicle due to being too small, the other 5 were as follows: 24, 22, 20, 17, and 14. I will find out next Friday if it worked. I did have to go to the doctor a lot more than with clomid.

hello everyone im new here and i came to this site to see if i could get some help ive been ttc for 3 years now i just recently went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and he put me on prometrium 400mg everyday for 10 days and then letrozole or femara 5mg cycle days 3 through 7 anyway im checkin for ovulation now and my test have not shown any surge of LH yet but its my first day to test what im wondering is is it normal to cramp what feels like in both my ovaries right before ovulation?

It was a missed AB. I was put on prometrium in July, had a withdrawl bleed July 2, no ovulation, 2 days of light bleeding on July 25 still no ovulation. Will birthcontrol for a few months help me get my cycle back.

Went on progesterone suppositories, prometrium and estrace after the IUI. BFN. My bloodwork showed my progesterone levels were very low, even with the supplements. So my RE wants to do a biopsy to see if there is an issue with the embryo implanting. He does the biopsy and sends it to the Adeza lab in California for pathology to read. Anyone had this done and can give me any advice on their experience, what they found? I am nervous. Thanks girls!

I am so sorry about clomid making your lining so thin. I hope that a different protocol with femara and follistim will work better for you.

I anyway miscarried. I was referred to a reproductive endocrinologist. He checked for genetic disorders in both me and my husband. He did the clomid challenge test , checked for abnormalities in the uterine wall , checked thyroid level , blood sugar. Everything came back normal.

) 2)wait for your period and then start tracking with cycle day 11 3) call your doctor and get some progesterone (I like Prometrium) to start your period so that you can start tracking sooner. ALSO If your periods are very irregular, it means that your ovulation is irregular too. While you are on the phone with your MD, you might see if you can get a prescription and instructions for Femara or Clomid. These medications will help you ovulate more regularly and conceive quicker. Good luck!

My RE prescribed prometrium vaginally as well, and when I picked it up at the pharmacy and noticed it's the same as the oral capsules, I asked the pharmacists about it. She said it's totally normal to use it as a suppository. I also had no problems with it coming back out, as I took it right before bed, so it had all night to absorb (then some would come out as I got up in the morning (used a pantyliner)...sorry TMI).

Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

I had 2 miscarriages in the past and with this one i went on prometrium and baby aspirin although nothing was ever diagnosed either. i did not experience any bleeding as a side effect of the prometrium though. have you had a scan yet?

I had an IUI a few weeks ago and then started taking prometrium for ten days. I finished up last Wednesday so it has been 5 days. How long until I should expect my period after my last prometrium?

t take them. I had an option to take prometrium to start my periods and then take femara(letrozole) to help me ovulate. I got pregnant but i miscarried so we are trying again.So don't worry or stress out cause it will all come in due time.God gives us patience for a reason :) hugs and lotsa baby dust...

I took 400mg of prometrium a day and shots every other day for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy.

Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone used Femara or Clomid and a "boost" of injectables and gotten a BFP? I will be doing 5mg of Femara CD 4 - 8 and then 150IU's of Menopur CD 9 - 11. We'll go in on CD 12 to check the follies and then hopefully proceed with IUI. I am hoping for more than 1 follicle. With Clomid and Femara I usually only have one follicle. It is usually nice and big though. Any thoughts would be helpful - any! Thanks..

I have recently taken my first cycle of Femara to make me ovulate. I have PCOS and do not ovulate often. I am now on cycle day 19 and according to my BBT I have not ovulated. Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?
