femara and ovidrel

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. It would just be nice to know if this has worked for someone and if it has, how well.

Tried naturally until this month (clomid made my crazy) when we did the femara 2.5 mg 5-9 and thhe ovidrel trigger. Next month if this doesn't work (crossing my fingers) we are gonna try the femara with IUI. Any advice or tips?

m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.

This is my first cycle using femara and the ovidrel shot. I am currently in my 2ww. I took a hpt just to see if I would get a false positive to see if the ovidrel was still in my system. It has only be 7 days since the shot and I got a bfn. Did the shot not work? Do I still have a chance to get a bfp? Should I be worried? Can anyone share their experiences positive or negative?

This is also my first month taking femara and we will also be doing my first ovidrel inj and progesterone afterwards... So I agree, hopefully we can all be a success story and this combo will work great! as candie429 said, i've heard a lot of people get BFP's from these meds! I go in on tuesday for my follie check, then IUI (also a first!!!). GOOD LUCK TO you both! Keep me updated! I havne' t noticed any side effects from the femara yet, have yall?

t find the name brand Novarel around here, but they said the generic is just as good, its 10,000 units of HCG and it was $57, I think they said Novarel brand name was $68 so both are cheaper than the ovidrel was for me. Also the Ovidrel is SubQ, and the Novarel is IM (intramuscular) and you also have to mix it up, so i had to pay for syringes as well, but hopefuly the RE will be doing all of that! Hopefully the Novarel will work for us this week, I hsould know by friday!

I don't know what Ovidrel is, is that the trigger shot? I took Menopur, femara and Novarel together (I think Novarel is the same as Ovidrel).

I am currently on Femara and Gonal F and patiently waiting for follicles to get a bit bigger before getting trigger Ovidrel shot and IUI. I currently have 2 follicles growing and they are at 1.7 today. I ovulate on my own usually. How many follicles have you had on similar treatment?? I thought it would be more than 2 but does the fact that I have one more than usual increase my chance with IUI by a lot?

Clomid works but not for everyone clomid often thickens the cervical mucus which makes it hard for the sperm to swim to contect to the egg. I was taking tussin as well my last cycle of clomid but it didn't work. I had 6 cycles of clomid three solo & three with iui's. I wish you the best of luck.

My husband and I were on Clomid and Ovidrel for the past 4 months with no luck. I recently went in for a diagnostic test to see if my tubes are blocked. Everything looks great so I am relieved...sort of. I feel like if I had a reason why I am not getting pregnant, this would be easier. My husband and I had 2 miscarriages in the last 2 years so we are worried that when it does happen again, we will find ourselves in teh same situation.

I got pregnant my 2nd month taking Femara, unfortunatley that pregnancy was a blighted ovim. I started the Femara up again and just finished my 3rd month. I take 2.5 mg on days 3-7. Good luck! It really does work!

Hi Ladies! I have a question about Letrozole. I used Clomid for the past 3 months and ovulated, but had no luck getting pregnant. I had an HSG last month (November) and this month my new Dr. put me on Letrozole. I had an appointment and u/s yesterday (CD 14) and they said my follicles were not big enough and to get the Ovidrel shot and that I should "sit out" this month and call my Dr. on Monday to see what she thinks as far as where to go from here.

I went in for an ultrasound today and was told that my lining is 10, and I have 3 follicles. 1 at 15.5 and 2 at 14.5. This is my first med cycle. I got pregnant in August spontaneously and had a m/c at 6 weeks. "normally" without meds I ovulate on day 14. At this point they would like me to continue to take the Gonal-F for 3 more days to get the follicles to 17 before the IUI procedure. My next ultrasound will be Saturday (CD16). I'm worried I will be past ovulation.

Last cycle I did 50mg of Clomid and had abnormal bleeding so had to move to Femara and I am happy to say I responded to Femara with no side effects! I plan on testing on 10 dpo (Feb 1st)! So anyone else waiting to test please comment below! Its going to be a long two weeks but we can do it!!!!

I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.

I was Gonal F for the first time last cycle - it was combined with Femara, trigger shot (Ovidrel) and IUI. I'm still in the TWW, but should find out if it worked on Friday!!! Will let you know!

So I am on my first cycle taking clomid, and giving myself follistim imjections and an ovidrel injection. i was wondering if any of you ladies out there have been through similar cycles and how many did it take for you to become preggers? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

i just conceived on a round of femara and ovidrel, and am now four weeks pregnant and my cm has not changed one bit but i'm definitely pregnant! hang in there, tons of baby dust!

Hello.. are you on any progesterone supplements?? well i would just give it some time and retest in a few days if AF is still not there.. sometimes people can have delayed ovulation even with a trigger shot and you may have ovulated later than you think.. femara didn't delay my periods in the past, however i was always on progesterone so as soon as i stopped that then AF would come! I recently switched doctors and am getting ready to start my first cycle of femara. I am taking 2.5mg two times a day of femara/letrozole and 1500mg a day metformin. I am curious about side effects, advice, success stories, etc. I am anxious and have been TTC for 3 years total, 2 with a doctors assistance. THANK YOU in advance.

I would say something to your doctor; my doc was going to put me on Provera when I didn't start my cycle. I tried the pill and that didn't work so she said Provera and I told her that my body doesn't respond and she had me skip and and go on Repronex and it worked for me. Well we are in the two week wait right now; hope this helps a little. Good Luck to you!

I injected myself with Ovidrel last cycle (and got a BFP!!!), and found it to be much easier to do and had less side effects than Novarel, the HCG shot I had taken before. It's easy-peasy! But, you will have to wait about 10 days before POAS in order to get an accurate result. Even though the dosage looks lower than 10,000 units, it metabolises slower than other HCG shots, so it still takes 10 days at least.

I used clomid for 3 months and it did not work. The 4th month, I used follistim and ovidrel. I got pregnant and am 7 weeks 2 days. :) Follistim made my follies grow bigger! I am close to 40, still have periods, have a cycle every 27 days like clockwork and have a daughter that is close to 6. Sounds like that is about the same as you. Our issue was my FSH level. :) Good luck. Follistim is great and you really will not have many s/e. It is just expensive.
