femara and headaches

I haven't experienced headaches while taking shots, but I agree about the hot flashes! Have you experienced weight gain with the shots? I gain about 3-5 lbs with each round of shots. Luckily it has already started to drop from being off of it for two months. Do you get cycts on your ovaries when you go back after you start your cycle?

I just took my first round of femara and I kept getting headaches on and off all day all week... So I think those are from femara. Not sure about the tummyaches though, you may want to call your RE's office...

m just finishing my period now and will start up with the Femara again next month. I had a few headaches but also got lots of EWCM. How long have you been on it?

I did one cycle on Femara and had migraines and a fever beginning on the second day of taking it and ending the day after I stopped-- yet my Dr. is reluctant to think there is a correlation! It was seriously horrible. The positive side is that I got my best follicle and best lining while using it... but no BFP. You could call the Dr. and ask about stopping the meds early if it doesn't clear-up today. I can't imagine 4 days vs 5 would make that much of a difference.

As far as I know, Tylenol is safe while TTC. I have even heard of doctors saying it's OK while pregnant. I feel your pain in that I get pretty bad headaches with the Femara too. I've read that this is one symptom that is definitely stronger with Femara than Clomid. We'll see if anyone else has some input on this. Hope you feel better!

I am due to start my first round of femara tomorrow due to PCOS and I am scared of the side effects. I work full time in a very busy setting and am scared I am going to feel sick. I also am a migraine sufferer as well. My migraines are brought on by hormones so I have a real possibility of getting one with the femara. I brought this up to the specialist who only told me to call iof I experience one. Is there anyone else who is prone to migraines?

But you have to be cautious as it is too early for you to be experiencing symptoms related to pregnancy. Your symptoms of breast tenderness, tiredness, nausea and headaches could all be due to premenstrual hormonal changes. I would advise you to wait till your periods to confirm your pregnancy. Hello all.. I'm new to all of this! Glad I know there's a community of supporters. I was diagnosed with PCOS and my ob/gyn sent me to a fertility specialist when I mentioned pregnancy. She didn't feel it was worth the stress since I don't ovulate on mine own. I took progesterone for 10 days (moodiest I've ever been!), and then started femara on day 2 of AF. I just finished femara (day 6) and I've been experiencing headaches that won't go away.

t thin your uterine lining like clomid does giving an embryo a good chance to be able to implant. Typically Femara has less side effects and is tolerated better. As far as dosage..you'll need to talk to your doc about that. Chances are they will start you on the lowest dose just like clomid and go from there. Most docs want you to take clomis CD 3 - 7, but some say 5 - 9.

I have taken both Clomid and Femara and have to say that I liked the Femara much better. Not as many side effects (except headaches) and I just overall felt better. It definitely helped me produce a nice follie and definitely O every time. If you are not responding to the Clomid, then Femara could very well be the solution for you!

I ovulated between CD13 and 15 on femara, and I was also taking it on days 3-7. I'm sure it varies a bit from person to person, though... Best of luck!!!

t thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!

i am now on femara. i was wondering if you are going on it. im on femara for about 2 1/2 months and not that happy on it. i was wondering if your dr. prescribed it for you and if not why.

Clomid can cause moodiness, hot flashes, thin lining and dry up your CM. Femara works on a different hormone then Clomid and is not suppose to have any of those side effects. I did 4 cycles of Clomid on the lowest dosage and 1 of Femara on the lowest dosage. The Clomid did dry up what little CM I did have and made me a little moody. I didn't notice any of that with the Femara.

Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

I just started chlomid yesterday, and it is awful. How can I have headaches, nausea and diarrhea after 2 doses??? Now I know why it causes irritability. Who can deal with a 2 year old when you feel pregnant but YOU KNOW YOU'RE NOT?

This is my second month on femara. I am on cd15 and my follies are growing so slow - only 13.5mm! (Last month they were 17mm on cd12!). Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? Also, what is too slow? Is there a day by which your RE would just stop the cycle and induce AF? I am just worried to get prego so late in my cycle. The 2 miscarriages I had were when I ovulated late (but were natural cycles, no meds).

Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone used Femara or Clomid and a "boost" of injectables and gotten a BFP? I will be doing 5mg of Femara CD 4 - 8 and then 150IU's of Menopur CD 9 - 11. We'll go in on CD 12 to check the follies and then hopefully proceed with IUI. I am hoping for more than 1 follicle. With Clomid and Femara I usually only have one follicle. It is usually nice and big though. Any thoughts would be helpful - any! Thanks..

I have recently taken my first cycle of Femara to make me ovulate. I have PCOS and do not ovulate often. I am now on cycle day 19 and according to my BBT I have not ovulated. Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???
