femara and hcg trigger shot

Can I take Repronex and/or femara without using a trigger shot (by tracking ovulation with OPK instead)?

t normally post a lot but i wanted to let u know I got pregnant on my first cycle of femara and ovidrel. I think I took femara days 3-7 and then had a trigger when my follicles were ready. I had done 3 cycles of chlomid with no luck but got pregnant my first f/o cycle. I'm 26 weeks right now! So good luck ladies! I'm sure it will all work out!

Where do I begin? I am a 29yr old female and I have never been pregnant. 3mths ago I found out that I have PCOS. I had all the blood work done and it confirmed it. I had an HSG to make sure my tubes are open and they are. I had my first round of femara 2.5mg and metformin 500mg last month. Went back to the doc and he said no luck PCOS still in the way. Did a progesterone test and my level was 8.7 some docs say I ovulated some say I didn't I have no clue.

Now my doctor wants me to take Femara and try the IUI with HCG trigger shot. When will the shot be given if I ovulate D14 or D15 usually? Will they wait until then or do the shot earlier? Can they miss it if they schedule it too late?

I took one cycle of Femara with hcg trigger last month I have spotted and have not had no cycle and pt are negative, can anyone help?

I would say something to your doctor; my doc was going to put me on Provera when I didn't start my cycle. I tried the pill and that didn't work so she said Provera and I told her that my body doesn't respond and she had me skip and and go on Repronex and it worked for me. Well we are in the two week wait right now; hope this helps a little. Good Luck to you!

Does anyone have any advice on taking Femara from CD3 - CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and then IUI on CD14? Any success the first time?

I took Femara on CD3-CD7 with a HCG trigger shot on CD12 for three months in a row. Last month I did Femara CD3-CD7, a HCG trigger shot on CD12 and IUI on CD14. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful. I go in for my 2nd IUI this weekend. Femara has helped thicken my lining, but I noticed that I am a little more emotional than usual. It probably doesn't help that I'm all stressed out about what's going on.

On the first try of iui with donor, they did it without femara and the trigger shot. But they informed me that they missed my ovulation and decided to put me on femara and on the trigger to avoid missing it again/ and having a better control of it. On the second try of iui +donor+femara+trigger shot: they informed that I might ovulated before the trigger shot because they notice that the follicules were too big .

This is my second cycle of superovulation with follistim and HCG shot to trigger ovulation. Last month, I had 2 good eggs (24,22) and one ok egg (18). Last month ended up with a chemical pregnancy. This month I went in for my CD 11 u/s after 8 nights of follistim. She said that I had one good egg at (20) and 2 ok eggs at 18. I also had like 8 eggs that were measuring 15.

I went for a utlrasound to c how big my fol were I had 3 of them 20,23,24 dr said they were great size... That was done on my 12th day of my cycle.. He did give me my trigger shot and told me that I would ovulate 36 hours from the time i had the shot... So he told me to have sex friday nite 12/1am and then again saturday morning...My question is how does he know i will not ovulate earlier.. And the other question is will all 3 eggs be released...

Sorry for the confusion. . . My RE is having me do the OPK test everyday, to check for the surge. (I ovulate on my own, so I'm guessing this is so I don't ovulate and they'll miss it) Then when I get a positive on the OPK, I'll do an HCG trigger shot to help the quality and timing, and then the next day I'll do the IUI. Question though. . . I had another ultrasound this morning. I have a ton of follicles, but only one large one, and that measured at 18 mm today.

Menopur is the shots to ready the egg and the ovidrel is just another name for the HCG shot. I took both and added clomid and got preggo the first time.

I've tried researching and can't find anything about timing and success rates. I'm attempting to relieve my nerves for this two week wait and I'd SUPER appreciate anyone's input. I had a natural period that came out of nowhere, femara days 4-8, ultra sound comfirmed 3 mature follicles on day 15, hcg trigger shot on day 16 and IUI 26 hours later on day 17 (today). My husband's sperm count was 35 million and 78% motility. Anyone with any thoughts on our success chances?

I took 5mg Femara day 3-7 and then I had trigger shot of Ovidrel on cd11. Cd18 I will have my progestrone checked to see if I ovulated and then a week after that I will have a HCG test done to see if I am pregnant.

I ended up doing combo cycles of Femara cd3-7 and menopur injections cd8-10ish with a trigger shot when my follicles were mature. This gave me more eggs in each go. This particular cocktail gave me healthy singleton pregnancies twice. Both on the first cycle. I think it all comes down to finding out what works best with your body. I tried it since I had vision problems with clomid. Only side effect I had was breast tenderness. I still didn't ovulate but I did grow follicles - my next treatment cycle, my RE will have me take femara plus injections, then a trigger shot to induce ovulation. I think I'm in the minority when it comes to not ovulating on clomid or femara alone though, because almost everyone else I've heard that took either at least ovulated with it. I hope it works for you!

Have had two surgeries, countless blood tests, HCG, clomid, femara who knows what else for 6 cycles now...and one IUI. The IUI did not take and since I am certifiable, I had the nerve to ask the doctor if there was really sperm when I had it done or if this is just a huge money making ploy. He was floored, and after I realized what I had said I'm like "just kidding". Not Good. Today I had my first injection of Puregon, what should I expect?

I am sorry to hear about your m/c. When do you start the new cycle of femara? It has taken some time for me to actually get the nerve up to write a post. I am almost embarrased that I am having trouble getting pregnant. I know its nothing to be ashamed of, but when you are ttc, everyone just assumes that can. When you can't, you feel abnormal.

I will have to talk to Dh he does not trust those tests he said when we are at the DR on Friday he is going to demand they test me again only because of the fact that with the trigger shot I never miss my period if I am not preggo. He is worried and confused and angry all at the same time. But we will get a blood test again to see.

It depends. I have taken a trigger shot 3 times. One month I had a BFP 9 days after trigger that came a BFN by day 11. Next I had a BFN on day 11 but a BFP on day 12 and then a BFN again on day 13. How much you get out of your system varies. I would take the kind of test where you can see if the line gets darker or lighter (vs digital). Good luck.

I had Follistim with the HCG trigger and produced 11 retrivable eggs on my first cycle 2 of which we had put back and 1 in the freeze. I am currently pregnant with twins. So I think that the follistim and HCG trigger is awesome. I did have issues with the pen itself but I hear alot of other women had no issues with injecting the pen. I ended up having my sister an RN come give me my daily shot and that worked wayyyy better then self injecting.

I agree about talking to them. I can see why you would be worried. You would be on day 13 by Sat. and that seems kind of late seeing as you o'd on day 11 last time. Plus with the the follies being that big already, it doesn't seem likely you'll make it to Sat. I think I would try the opk's.

I am on the third cycle of Femara, trigger shot and back to back IUI - which I had done within 24 hours and then 36 hours. My doc likes to do two rounds of iui back to back for more success. I hope this helps. I find out tomorrow if I am preggers...

Yes once he sees follicles at 20mm he will give me the go ahead for my trigger shot. After the trigger shot he wants hubby and I told BD that night and 2 to 3 days following that time.
