femara and estradiol

Took my 1st Femara today. Got my results back and my FSH is 7.2, Estradiol is 51 and LH is 2.7. Anyone had any experience with Femara?

Gosh, mine was only 275 and i had 5 follies, i wander what that indicates? they said with femara it can be low, i wander if that makes my follies not rupture?? Thanks so much for your kind words!

Yesterday i went to the doctor , he did a ultrasound and discovered i have PCOS . He has put me on femara and estradiol. Has anyone ever taken this? Does anyone have any success stories of getting pregnany and having PCOS ? God Bless you all .

I had 6 IUIs using clomid before and got pregnant but unfortunately I miscarry at 6 wks at most. So my doc suggested Femara on my CD 2 for five days just as Clomid. I was supposed to have an IUI on Tuesday. I had an E2 test yesterday counted 61.94 though I developed 5 eggs ,he said it's low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara!

now its been 4 months and nothing. i was just tested last week for FSH, prolactin, TSH, and estradiol and everything came back fine. what should be my next step?

Ok here is my situation. I have PCOS and have done 2 cycles of clomid, and 2 of femara, and the bloodwork showed I did not ovulate any of these times. However, I was not being monitored by ultrasound, so there was no way to know if I was growing follicles and just not releasing eggs from them.

I have to guess at what your doctor is thinking, but to me it sounds like he wants to do a day 3 FSH and estradiol level, and yes, I suspect he is trying to rule out premature ovarian failure. It is possible that your ovaries were damaged by the endometriosis surgery. Has anyone considered Metformin for you? Just an aside.

Im only 23 , me and my husband have been trying for about a year and a half. I just finished 3 rounds of clomid / estradiol but now that he knows that i have PCOS he put me on femara / estradiol. Has your doctor put you on anything ? I wish you Lots of luck and God Bless !

hi dr i need ur expertise once again i took the meds as my dr prescribe and i dnt think the clomid as work for me this month if u remember i took provera to make my period come and i took clomid 3-7 and estradiol 8-12 today is cd 29 and i was suppose to do and preg test on cd27-28 and both test come back negative...and i had an hsg test done 2008 and i didnt have any blockage everything was fine...

Doctor put me all kind of fertility medicine such as Clomid 100mg, Femara, Estradiol, Prometrium, Repronex, Follistim.. We tried and tried and nothing happen. We even tried 2 IUI and not success.. In April the doctor told me take a break and he will perform laparoscopic surgery on 04/17/09. We will try again in June 09. The surgery went fine. Everything inside of me look good inside and nothing stopping me not to conceive... The major factor is my age..

I've been taking clomid and estradiol this cycle and my lining had gotten thick. 10 mm to be exact. I had one follicle disappear, and they think another one did too. Now I have one that is 17mm. and my lining is thin. I haven't had any bleeding so I'm confused as to how my lining went from thick to thin in a few days with no bleeding. This is all so confusing and fustrating I'm on CD 30 and I'm losing hope. I just want this cycle to be over so I can move to Femara next cycle.

Gosh its just crazy that I might be getting yet another bad diagnosis! ugh! I had my FSH and estradiol levels done today and they called me and said they were great! One number was in the mid forties and the other i want to say 6 or someting (but can't remember) but they were normal and good, does that mean that I don't have PCOS?? i'm so confused!! I'm not going to do metformin yet, i'm doing femara, novarel and progesterone with IUI, i'm on cd 4 right now...

Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

I am getting ready to turn 37 years of age and I have been trying to conceive for the past few years - went through testing (no issues on my end nor husbands, diagnosed with unexplained infertility). I've tried clomid, femara, gonal-f and menopur over the past year. My most recent IUI cycle was cancelled due to a poor response and estradiol levels dropped on menopur (150 iu); however, the next protocol is recommended to be menopur again - but at a higher dose of 300 iu (150 2x per day).

The estradiol supresses this mechanism, allowing multiple follicles to mature, and making your chlomid or other drugs a better shot at producing multiple eggs.

Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone used Femara or Clomid and a "boost" of injectables and gotten a BFP? I will be doing 5mg of Femara CD 4 - 8 and then 150IU's of Menopur CD 9 - 11. We'll go in on CD 12 to check the follies and then hopefully proceed with IUI. I am hoping for more than 1 follicle. With Clomid and Femara I usually only have one follicle. It is usually nice and big though. Any thoughts would be helpful - any! Thanks..

I have recently taken my first cycle of Femara to make me ovulate. I have PCOS and do not ovulate often. I am now on cycle day 19 and according to my BBT I have not ovulated. Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

I am 51 now, and I guess enough post menopausal that my oncologist urged me to switch from Tamoxifen to one of the Aromatose Inhibitors. I have tried Arimidex, Femara and recently Aromasin and I am absolutely unable to take them, the severe Depression being the worst of it. My oncologist says he does not want to take me off Prozac and that is why he doesn't want me on Tamoxifen and which I took for a year and got used to.

t work I still bled for another month so I call him and he doubled my dosage well for three days I got so sick and started bleeding heavier. Called him again today and he takes me off prevera and puts me on prempro. I dont understand why he is putting me on all this hormone medication. I ovulate on my own and get period every month.Never missed a period in my life.MY DAY3 , FSH, Estradiol tests are normal.My Husband's sperm analysis reports are great. What is wrong with me? Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???
