Avatar m tn The difference between focusing at 6 meters and 100 meters is about 0.2 diopters. My vision is corrected to 6 meters with -4.75 diopters. Road signs, especially at night, don't come into sharp focus for me until I'm maybe 30 feet from the sign. I would like lenses with -5.00 diopters but all the professionals say they only test and prescribe for correction to 20 feet. Why is that?
Avatar f tn If PATM is caused by bad bacteria doing the right thing will kill the bacteria in big quantities and release all toxins they contain at once. Just speculation.
Avatar f tn And if one were to choose that target what expected range of good sharp vision might be expected. 6 feet, 3 feet, 10 feet? By sharp vision I mean clear, not blurry -- as if one were corrected to 20/20 with eyeglasses.
Avatar m tn Near work would generally be about 1/3 meter = 13 inches or closer. Spending 30-60 minutes outdoors is also beneficial especially in very young to prevent or slow myopia.
Avatar n tn I dont know where you are so I dont know what meters you have to choose from. In the USA all meters have to be 80% accurate. I take my meter to the MD and when they do a blood test I do too I try to use the same blood drop.
Avatar f tn As you can see the curve for -1.0 D intersects this acuity at about 3 meters or 10 feet. At 20 feet it would drop to about 20/40, the same as for longer distances. This is the limit in most jurisdictions for driving without eyeglass correction. So the short answer is that -1.0 would be marginally ok for TV viewing at 10 feet, and not quite as good at 20 feet. It depends on your requirement for sharpness of your TV image. https://www.semanticscholar.
Avatar f tn I was walking through a dangerous place when I came across a path of fresh blood, which I have surely walked on. I walked 800 meters (2624 feet) to my house and walked in with my shoes. I walked through the house, and people who live with me also walked there. is there any risk of contaminating the floor with hepatitis c?
Avatar f tn I made the assumption that 20/20 (described To me as far vision) meant FAR Vision, I.e. 20 feet and beyond (or infinite focus). I’m beginning to believe 20/20 means just that, visual acuity measured at 20 feet, not a half mile. This doesn’t solve my problem since as a pilot I need the buildings and other planes at a distant to be crisply clear. My question is this... am I right?...can I have 20/20 and still need glasses to fine tune the FAR distant vision.
Avatar n tn I heard that the meters we use at home to test our blood read anywhere from 10-20% high. Does anyone know if this is correct?
Avatar m tn Over the past 3 years I have gotten progressively slower and with less mileage to where my runs are only jog-walks where my jog is anywhere from about 100 meters to 100 feet before I have to walk - then I continue on as a jog-walk. I had a recent incident where I tried to go a few extra meters (pushed it) and passed out on the sidewalk (not the first time and definitely not fun). But I can bicycle with the same amount of water and nutrition for 20-30 miles without issue.
920032 tn?1550680156 when i blow into my peak flow and intake a breath from the depths of my feet and feel as if i have given the biggest blow ever it is usually qiute lower than just taking a quick sharp blow.
Avatar m tn and did i actually say 7-8 feet... i meant meters haha maybe a bit more...
Avatar n tn Oyakawa, In your experience with the Alcon toric lens, is achieving a desired target of “plano” for good long distance vision difficult to attain? If a target of 2 meters is chosen is that close enough to “plano” to give good long distance vision and avoid the risk of “overcorrecting”? Is it possible to have good distance vision with the Alcon toric lens when one has modified or mini-monovision -- i.e.
Avatar m tn Before leaving her doctors office your mother should have gotten a wealth of printed information on how to control and manage her diabetes. A list of recommended home glucose test meters should have been part of that package.
Avatar m tn theirs are different companies that giv the meters and some supplies 4 free here are some names one touch/bayer meters jus look up the toll free # hope it helps
Avatar n tn It means that you have to get to 6 meters to see something a normal person can see from 36 meters. It depends on if it can be corrected with glasses or surgery. Dr. O.
Avatar n tn This condition started 6 days ago when I was climbing up a mountain in Western China. The onset occurred about 2 hours after I acscended 2600 meters. One moment I felt fine, the next I had problems even standing up. I thought it was altitude sickness, but those symptoms should only take a couple of days to subside. I didn't even realize I wasn't sweating until I got back someplace where I could get some Tylenol. I took some and then noticed I started to sweat.
Avatar f tn Read this again, if you still don't understand you need to read about focusing for near vision (accommodation), convergence for near vision. When we look at distance objects (>20 feet or 6 meters they eyes are parallel, when we look at something close like reading at 12 inches they converge or "cross" AGAIN: Because when you wear reading glasses your weak eye muscles don't have to do the work of focusing and less work to converge.
Avatar n tn The 3 year old should be separate from you for at least 1-2 days (by 6 feet (2 meters) or more distance). The most important part is to not share same bed for about 2-3 weeks. You should check with the physician who gave the the radiation to confirm these restrictions.
Avatar n tn im posting here because they cant find anything wrong with my knee i came in with a arch in my feet now im almost have flat feet.
Avatar f tn I have two different meters-One Touch Ultra Mini and Accu-Chek Aviva. Is there any place to get free supplies or very low cost supplies for these meters? Your suggestions ar greatly appreciated! Thank you !
Avatar m tn No I don't agree. You would need one power for reading, a second for computer or shopping so right there you are carrying 2 pairs of glasses or wearing no line progressive lens. Clear distance vision is 20 ft or 6 meter or farther, not nearer, depending the size of you pupil, if you were watching tv at 10-15 feet you would likely have trouble reading ball game scores on the news ribbon along the bottom of the screen.
