I don't have a fear of flying but I get motion sickness. 1 over the counter dramamine will knock me out. I only have to take half of one. I switched to Bonine because I felt better on it. A normal dose of with either of these medications should help you. 1 Dramamine or 2 Bonine. They will calm you down and make you tired. With my motion sickness, my body temperature goes up, I get nausea, it feels like a bad flu. So, this would be an alternative to your xanax.

Ok, so on monday im going to fly on a plane to go on my holidays! and i am so scared! i have panic attacks and very bad globus hystericus, it will be so hard i cant even start to explain! i am on Lexapro and my doctor have given me xanax .25 mg i dont no if i should take them i have never taken them before and dont really want my first experience of a new drug to be up in the sky!

After I come to I have a vomiting spell that lasts for hours. When I finally get to sleep on a bed, I sleep for hours and then wake up feeling perfectly ok.

This is all a result of your fear of flying. Many have this fear and taking a Xanax before boarding the plane will help you. Take things to keep your mind busy like a good book. Your anxiety is peaking due to your fear, so the calmer you are the better you'll feel. Your tests have proven that you are very healthy...trust in that. I will be flying to Philippines in 2 days I normally have a MASSIVE fear of flights. This time round, I anticipate my fear of flights will go crazy because I will be going on an OLD aircraft (A340 model, possibly around 20 years old plane!) So how am I to stop this fear? Can i take Xanax? I checked with my insurance provider, and they say I can claim for Xanax, so looks like I can get a psychiatrist to dispense some for me.

I have developed a fear of flying, I have flown numerous times before with no fear at all!!! Apart from mild nerbousness during turbulence, actually love flying. But last time I flew, due to depression I have 3 oanic attacks on a 30 minute flight. My heart was racing like crazy and everytime I looked out of the window I felt dizzy. I was sooo relieved when the plane landed!! So due to this bad experience I am terrified of flying and am already nervous about it.

As you know planes are safer than traveling in a car. Bring things to keep you busy while waiting to board and on the plane. Focus on your child and know she/he will pick up your vibe if your nervous. Even if you get an anti anxiety med, you don't want to be loopy while flying right? Fear of flying is all about control, the more lucid you are the better. Question....Did your fear flying before detox?

i have an issue with anxiety and my usual fears r change in routine and vomiting, but recently as in the past 2 or 3 days ive developed a new fear (lol like i don't have my hands full with the others) and that fear is a fear of being depressed. The problem is ive never been depressed so i don't know wat it feels like. im afraid of becoming depressed/suicidal (btw i have some belief in my head that suicidal thoughts ALWAYS follow depression is this true?

Oh, and another thing--- one of the problems of taking a newborn on a plane is the air and germs. The air on an airplane is recycled as you're flying. So you're breathing in the same air over and over. If someone has an airborne illness you and baby could get it.

For the clast couple of days I have had a strange pain at the top of my head, coupled with a feeling of dizziness and occasional nausea. When I touch the top of my head it feels tender, as it might if I had got it sunburnt (but I haven't). Although I do sometimes get headaches I haven't had one like this before, and it doesn't respond to pain killers either.

i'm supposed to be getting on my first airplane in 4 days. i suffer from anxiety, panic attacks and i'm ocd. i guess you could also say i'm quite the hypochondriac. i'm always terrified something bad is going to happen to me, especially when i'm far away from home. i've been reading up on ways to calm anxiety, especially while on airplanes, but most of what i read involved medication, like xanax, or drinking to take the edge off. i don't do either.

but think about it, if you really detest being on a plane then just look on the bright side of being on the greyhound., you feel safer, and you can bring a few good books and bring some music, like an ipod. some people have personal dvd players or on ipods they download movies, you can do all this on a plane too! but your choice, alot of people enjoy planes! they look relaxed and are relaxed as you should be,the same is said for greyhounds.

My fear of flying stems not from a fear of being unsafe but because of claustrophobia. I absolutely cannot stand the thought of being "trapped" in a flying tube for hours at a time. I just can't get over it. Help!

I am boarding a plane in 2 hours and i am 21 weeks pregnant with my miracle baby (i was told i couldnt conceive). Anyhow its a short 1hr and 30 min flight round trip but i am terrified it will hurt the baby or cause me to miscarry. I was fine until a coworker told me the pressure would hurt the baby.

Ok folks, this is a spin off from another thread I posted. To give you a quick recap: last month I experienced horrible stomach pain, that spread to my back, ribs and chest. I scheduled an appointment with my GI. He completed a colonoscopy/endoscopy and found antral gastritis, a hiatal hernia, and H Pylori. He prescribed a PPI, Amoxicillin, and clarithromycin for the Pylori. I also went to my local health food store and purchased Mastic Gum, DGL, and Manuka Honey.
