Avatar n tn Tachy means rapid or fast and cardia depicts heart. Hence, a rapid heart rate is known as tachycardia. This can occur as a normal response to exercise or feelings of anxiety & fear. However, it can also occur due to a disturbed rhythm of the heart. Usually, further tests like holter monitoring & echocardiography are done to find out the underlying cause. From the description of your symptoms, other possibilities like neurological causes are also possible.

Avatar m tn My OCD is under some amount of control. I am sick of my OCD though. I have been taking medication and have seen both a psychiatist and psycologist. My OCD started with fear of acquiring HIV from blood left on inanimated objects like door knobs, door handles, elevator buttons etc and then accidently picking my nose or rubbing my eyes. I went for multiple HIV tests and all were negative. Now the fear is mostly about Hep C and not HIV.
439168 tn?1307931740 He told me that I would have to see an opthamologist every 6 months to check for plaque buildups and ulcers that can form in the back of the eyes leading to vision problems or blindness. I need it because my Sjogren's Syndrome and Fibromyalgia have been out of control. I have a new diagnosis of osteoarthritis and moderate welling to my lower extrimities. What does the Plaquinel do to the symptoms and progression of Sjogrens?
Avatar m tn While I read through the comments, that most have problems with pointy objects, I have the same symptoms, but cannot look at things like chain link fences, cages, etc. When I do, the back of my eyes and even sometimes nose ache. What bothers me, is that it doesn't always immediately go away when I avoid the triggers, sometimes it is days on end with my eyes feeling painful. I can remember having these pains/feelings since I was young, I would love to know why.
Avatar f tn I am 25 years old. I've lived with my grandparents for the past 10 years. I moved in with them due to issues with my mother being an alcoholic and things generally being unstable in that environment. My grandma has always been controlling. I hated jobs I've had but stayed there for fear of her being mad at me for quitting. Any time I didn't show up at work or school, she would be highly upset with me; often ignoring me for days and threatening to kick me out of the house.
Avatar n tn My 3.5 year old granddaughter is afraid of entering rooms with a lot of people (not strangers), she will hide her eyes and not socialize at all. She also hides when she thinks someone will call attention to her (i.e. a party had a pinata, she hid because she didn't want anyone to clap when she tried to break it). She also has just recently stopped kissing (acknowledging) her grandfathers and uncles. She can totally ignore them and not look at them.
Avatar f tn I first have to ask why someone with an "extreme HIV phobia" would work in a lab such as you do. I have an extreme fear of snakes and they couldn't pay me enough to work around the things. I also can't understand how someone in your position in not one of the most highly qualifed people to know how difficult it is to actually contrract HIV. You say that you always wear the correct protective gear while working with these specimens.
Avatar m tn So i really never need to get tested as long as I properly use condoms and swallow as much semen as I want?
Avatar m tn First of all, there are no tests for anxiety. That diagnosis is usually arrived at after every other test has come back negative and the only thing left on the table IS anxiety. You say that you've been suffering with anxiety symptoms for months, but then go on to say that the anxiety isn't always obvious to you and you often get the symptoms without it............. I'm sorry if I'm being dense here, but you could you clarify that for us.
Avatar m tn It happens everytime i think about it so it is psychological. But I still fear that my eyes might get misalligned if this continues. Is it possible to get misalligned eyes at this age considering I have astigmatism and amblyopia?
Avatar n tn Potty008, You are not nuts, a lot of medical professionals suffer from this type of anxiety. You can either use medications like SSRI's but at the end of the day, you will need talk therapy, I suggest a good MSW or PhD who deal with this type of anxiety so they can give you coping strategies.
Avatar f tn hii!! This sounds weird. I have this extreme fear of catching HIV. Sometimes my mind build up stories as to how I would have contracted it. I am not engaged at all in any risky activities. The fear arises from unusual situations. Latest is I fear that I would have drank or washed my eyes with toilet bowl water. The toilet is used only by me and my husband only very few times some friends may have used it. My concern is whether the toilet bowl water has HIV in it?
Avatar m tn Hello Dear ,,, i think you mean oral sex ! it's safe if you totch codom and after that totch your Penis it's not RISK !
Avatar m tn Dear Doctors I am a 24 years old male from China with -6.50D high myopia. Around 2-3 months ago, I developed these floaters in my eyes. There are quite some of them. Right eye: one made up of a lot of dots, one like a straight line. Left eye: one rests in the bottom only appear when I look up or move eyes fast, one like a curve with knot, and also one made up with dots/bubbles. I was so seriously terrified when I had the symptoms. I rushed to several eye specialists since then.

Avatar m tn Today,a guy was dancing and during the dancing i was beside him and i felt that something enter me eyes,i know this sound stupid, but am scared it is blood although i never checked his hand whether he had any cut on it.Am scared becausew i don't know his H.I.V status? It would be great if you could pease tell me maybe i was at risk.Gracias!
Avatar m tn Many people have a fear of HIV because they don't understand just how incredibly difficult it is to contract. Before much was known about HIV, we experienced a national panic about this and sadly many people remain uneducated. I don't often advise people to Google a particular disorder, but there are many excellent sites that offer up to the minute education about HIV. I think it would be very beneficial for you to read some of these. I recommend mayoclinic.com or cleavelandclinic.com.
