8377023 tn?1399509160 My biggest fear out of everything is my water breaking while driving their car. I am absolutely terrified that this is going to happen. I have already gotten contractions while driving with one of the twins, thankfully the contractions weren't crazy bad, and this happened today. I dont know what to do besides calling their aunt, Chris, my mom and my doctor. Like what should I tell their aunt if that happens? To just meet me at the hospital or what?
Avatar n tn I highly recommend the follwing resources to help you over-come this fear of driving. In my opinion they are priceless and well worth the money. If you can afford them, I would order them today so you can get your recovery on the road. They have been instrumental in my recovery and I actually keep them in the car with me, just in case. 1) The Driving Fear Program - www.drivingfear.

Avatar n tn I too struggle with panic attacks and the fear of them returning. Have you talked to your dr about this? You might want to consider talking with a therapist. I do know that if you let the fear take over your mind it is only going to get worse. The best advice I can give you is to talk to someone and try to face the fear. Get back in your car and go for a drive even if it is only around the block. Each time you do it it will get easier. You have to take your control back.
1227375 tn?1267287947 I remember several years ago I had started a diet, yes it was a silly FAD diet, that recommended drinking over 2 gallons of water a day. Well needless to say, not only could I not get too far from a bathroom for fear of springing a leak, one day I actually became very faint and almost passed out. Yes, it was flushing my system, but it was flushing important nutrients and electrolytes as well.
105530 tn?1279585282 Mine is wide expanses of water like on a Cruise where there is nothing but miles and miles of deep water all around, that would be my worse nightmare even though I'm a strong swimmer,I absolutley freaked at the movie Titanic I totally missed the romantic side of it all I saw was water water everywhere ...... so I guess my Phobia is drowning.

1074864 tn?1256932915 You are not actually fearful of driving or travelling itself, but rather the fear of losing control if you have another panic attack. This is because when we have a panic attack, the first thing we want to do is to retreat to our "safe place", which for most people is our home. The further away from our comfort zone, the more uncomfortable we feel.
Avatar n tn I have been having wierd skin sensations for the past month or more. It has ranged from numbness, burning, itching, prickly, tickles, etc. it was in hands and feet mainly but then it has migrated to other parts. Even my tongue and lips seem to be effected! The best way I can describe its like my skin is hypersensitive and I feel the hot water more intense on my hands.
Avatar f tn Aaawww! Bet there is a quick-fix for that: when you go out, take drinking water with you, plus some sort of candy/mints that contain sugar. Water will keep you hydrated, and it's easy to get a refill of water almost anywhere for free. The candy is for if you haven't eaten for awhile, your blood sugar can drop and make you feel faint - the candy will stop that.
1785438 tn?1314987935 Hi. Unfortunately this all evolves around your anxiety and you're developing Agoraphobia which will hold you prisoner in your home (safe place). Driving is a big trigger for many with panic attacks it goes along with Agoraphobia, fear of open places and fear you'll have a panic attack, the feeling of being "trapped" wherever you are.
1804812 tn?1329677557 Boy, can I relate!! MANY of us can! This goes hand in hand with panic. " I am known as the "back roads" queen because I can get to just about anywhere on small streets and county roads. I always feel like I need to have a place I can pull over". Me too! LOL. I HATE highways. I explored this fear with my therapist years ago, and she explained to me that the fear stems from our basic fear of becoming "trapped" somewhere, with no option of "escape".
Avatar f tn t you get a dashboard camera (you could probably use your smartphone if it has enough memory). Record yourself driving. When you feel this fear, check the video and you will see that you have not hot anyone. At first, try driving for a short distance and then check the video. Then try driving a longer distance. You will be doing some self-exposure therapy and will have solid evidence that nothing bad has happened. Hang in there!
Avatar m tn It started when I had some stomach bug which caused me to get extremely nauseous when I was driving and I had to pull over ASAP and find a place to vomit or use the bathroom. This happened a couple of times and the second time I even had to call coworkers to come get me and my car and then have my wife come drive me home. Now ever since then, I've had a fear of being stuck in traffic somewhere and getting sick again without having anyway to get out of the situation.
Avatar f tn Yep, the water in the toilet bowl does not have any HIV in it and cannot infect you. It sounds like you do have OCD and with OCD, reassurance can only go so far. You can get reliable information that you are fine but then what I like to call the "yeah but what if..." part of your brain will start casting doubts and reaching for extremely far-fetched scenarios to try to convince you that there is still a problem.
Avatar f tn s even better, sit and relax taking in the sounds, and smell of the water. Sit in the sand and let the water flow over your feet and around you. Become familiar with it, and then venture into it little by little until you feel completely comfortable. Logic tells you that you will be fine, so it's important to face this fear and let it go. I love the ocean and all it has to offer, I'd hate to see you miss out on it. You can do this! Take care.
Avatar f tn t a fact and was able to deal with it. I also hyperventilated so read that if you have ice water with you, drinking it of course, you can't hyperventilated. The Community Leader who is normally here is on vacation. I hope others will stop by to help with suggestions though keep in mind this is a holiday weekend so will be slow. Have you seen a doctor? They could help you tremendously.
Avatar m tn but every time I see one, my anxiety sky rockets. I have a fear of even driving by a used needle and thinking it could be contaminated with hepatitis b or c. its as though I fear blood from the needle will get on my car or tires and then on to me. really cant comprehend how to deal with this.
Avatar n tn As well I had experienced anxiety with driving over a period of time. I brought this to the attention of my therapist seeking an explanation for the anxiety. We talked about the anxiety and he suggested some relaxation via a very simple tape which he had created. He described to the patient how to relax, that is, relaxing one body part at a time.(shoulder, arm, leg). I listened to this tape over time (as required) and much of the anxiety has left me.
Avatar f tn It not just driving any more it's being alone, always need someone to be with me...Feeling sad for no reason..heart racing, pain in left arm and shoulders tension and the list goes on..just want to feel better!!
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm posting this question hoping that someone of the health care comunity may be able to answer it. I'm a 25-years-old male and about five YEARS AGO I had an episode of unprotected sex with another male. After that, I made several tests and it's all right with my health. The other person is nowadays healthy too. What bothers me is: IF THERE WAS A NEW EPIDEMIC, A DISEASE BEING SPREAD, LIKE AIDS, IS FIVE YEARS TIME ENOUGH FOR US TO KNOW THAT?
Avatar n tn I think I have an irrational fear of rabies and something happened that put my fear into the stratosphere. My wife and I live in a "rabies free" country (Okinawa, Japan) however I have discovered that this does not include the huge number of bats that live here. We were driving down a back alley jungle road yesterday when I noticed there was a dead bat covered with flies on our side of the road.
Avatar n tn if your getting thrush it could be just a yeast infection. eat lots of yougart take acidofollis. lots of water also. good luck.
Avatar m tn If you are dealing with anxiety, I think it would be very beneficial for you to talk things over with a therapist. Those of us with anxiety will often latch onto a fear and we are pros at blowing things out of proportion. You're gonna be OK, OK?
Avatar f tn need I say more? The fear of being stuck in traffic and suddenly needing to go is a real fear based on a real problem. Generally I prepare for trips, and if shopping, make it a focused shop. No more aimless driving. I have to have a plan and stick to it. Same in stores: meandering around in a hugh store is sure to bring on panic. So again I now plan and stick to it. One department for shoes. No checking out several stores or departments.
8919982 tn?1400717187 About the umbilical cord, it will most definitely be wrapped around the babies neck, but the beauty of a water birth is your care take will unwrapp it before you baby is brought out of the water to take its first breath (usually before you've fully delivered his/her whole body) its a lot more slower process then a bed birth, meaning its more laid back when it comes to pushing smd delivering. Water births are great, and provide less stress for you And your baby naturally.
Avatar n tn My anxiety is getting the best of me. I admit I have always been a hypochondriac, and this is driving my HIV anxiety. I had some exposures that the HIV Prevention community have said are not true risks for HIV. Deep down, I beleive them. However, I gert a weird symptom and go into a panic thinking it's HIV. MY eyes are burning with exhaustion from lack of sleep. I have nobody I can talk to about this fear. I want to buy the Oraquick test, get a negative result and move on, but I am afraid.
Avatar f tn The window period will be up in couple of weeks. For now I keep going over and over the risky contacts that I had, like kissing etc because I never had an unprotected sex and this is driving me crazy. I live in a very small community where being HIV positive puts an end to a person's normal life. So far I can only think of 3 occasions of "dangerous" situation. 1. A guy deep kissed me in a club.
