Avatar f tn s shocking to hear so many similar stories and experiences, When I was young I had a permit to drive with a licensed driver, I lost control of a vehicle when I hesitated in an intersection in the poring rain I slammed on the breaks in fear of not making a yellow light, I didn't cause an accident and nobody got hurt but I ended up across the street very close to a gas station pump which has scared me deeply, I was 18 and have not driven since I'm in my late 40's and have never
1406332 tn?1315962760 The lights reflecting off the pavement, the windshield wipers going back and forth and back and forth, and the noise of the rain was just WAY TOO MUCH for my brain to process. Have a great day everyone!
Avatar n tn I have good days and bad days. The key is you have to keep driving or the fear will over come you. The solution is once you don't care anymore about having a panic attack while driving, you will tend not to have them. I have spent numerous hours and years researching this topic. I highly recommend the follwing resources to help you over-come this fear of driving. In my opinion they are priceless and well worth the money.

1028452 tn?1537448484 They danced in the rain and spent the whole day in the rain until some of them got flu. The school had declared a holiday for the children to enjoy the rain. The humans’ souls are insatiate. They wanted more rain. It poured continually for a whole week. People grew tired of it. The huts weren’t mud walled any more. The became brittle with rain. The huts got submerged in water; the large tree was washed away and lay broken.
Avatar m tn Had one time a couple of summers ago when the interstate was completely stopped. Had to get out of the car and stand outside, ended up talking to the lady in the car behind me and before I knew it, we were moving. So try some things to get your mind off yourself and think about something else.
Avatar f tn t go back so focus on positive loving supportive moves in the direction of your family. And forgive yourself. If you can truly forgive yourself the fear of HIV may leave entirely. And listen to Rainlover he's very smart. Best wishes. I was trying to help your guilt and worry.
1074864 tn?1256932915 You are not actually fearful of driving or travelling itself, but rather the fear of losing control if you have another panic attack. This is because when we have a panic attack, the first thing we want to do is to retreat to our "safe place", which for most people is our home. The further away from our comfort zone, the more uncomfortable we feel.
Avatar f tn For as long as I can remember I have had a massive fear of vomit ( not vomiting, fear of others puking) when ever I even think about someone throwing up it gives me anxiety. When I see someone even about to I start panicking. I live in an apartment complex and someone threw up in the parking lot and now I'm scared to go out there. It's makes me panic and want to cry.
Avatar f tn lll become incredibly anxious. This is managable by turning the lights on, but my other problem is driving in the dark. I have to put the inside light on in my car and keep checking behind me both of which aren't safe. In the past I had two minor panic/anxiety attacks from driving in th rk and I dont know how to cope with it. I'm embarrased to tell family and friends and find myself making excuses for why I can't travel home at night. Does anyone have any advice?
Avatar f tn Specialmom pretty much said everything I was thinking, and then some. :0) SO much of anxiety is fed by US, and with time and practice, you can learn how to stop feeding the beast. Honest to goodness distraction is one of the best things you can do for anxiety and panic. So, like sm suggested, music, looking out the window are good things. You could also bring along a puzzle book, like a word search, etc.
Avatar n tn Were you in a car accident of this nature in the past, this would cause your fear? Anxiety causes most of us to develop fears like this, some have a root cause and others don't. Therapy will help you determine why you have this fear, and how to get over it. If therapy doesn't help (I think it will) there are medications to ease your fear. Know you're not alone and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Avatar n tn The best advice I can give you is to talk to someone and try to face the fear. Get back in your car and go for a drive even if it is only around the block. Each time you do it it will get easier. You have to take your control back. I should really learn to take my own advice. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you feel better.....
Avatar f tn Recently I have been feeling down, I never want to do anything, I stop sleeping and I loose interest in many hobbies.
Avatar f tn He recently has become so scared of rain and storms that he asks everyday and everynite if it is going to rain. Simply the sound of the rain hitting the house puts him in a frenzy. I feel so bad for him because i know what it is like to feel scared of storms as i was when i was a small child. No matter what i do to try to comfort him he just trembles, cries and moans and cries for me to make it stop or asks when it is going to stop.
Avatar m tn i was driving confidently for the last 8 years. suddenly start to fear driving especially curves...now i could not take the vehicle in the middle of the road..i try to avoid and automatically i drive on left side of the road instead of straight...so i loose balance..i am sittiting also slightly towards left...this problem is giving me sleepless night...please advise me..........
Avatar f tn I haven't always had a fear of snow or ice driving until the recent past few years. If I am not in the driver's seat, I can't control the anxiety. If I am in the driver's seat, it's much, much worse. My panic starts the minute we start moving.
8377023 tn?1399509160 Princesslo007 is right, i would fill in the parents and see what they say about it. Also if your scared of your water breaking in the car i would start taking a towel or something and put it on the seat and then take it with you! Just in case (: also be careful! And if you start getting painful contractions pull over, im sure you already know that though.
Avatar f tn I live in Tempe. In Arizona it's monsoon season so we always get rain this time of year. It only rained for like 20 mins though.
Avatar m tn I think that pain might be attributed to my lack of sleep, me getting caught in the Seoul rain, and the low of drinking coffee but I am still really worried. My fear is driving me mad. What is going on?
