Avatar n tn The popping of capillaries could be due to high blood pressure. It could be the side effects of your blood pressure medications. Zocor too could cause this. Other than this it could be due to clotting disorders, low platelet count, fragile spider veins, deep vein thrombus, deficiency of Vitamin B12, folic acid, or Vit K, a liver disease or certain cancers. It could also be due to pressure urticaria. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar m tn After a period of searching on the Internet, I found that the reason for my paleness is due to the temporary high blood pressure that leads to poor circulation, but I still fear that the spasm of the facial muscles causes pallor because I have read some of the topics about this thing. Please help me. This thinking sounds stupid but it scares me.
Avatar m tn material in the blood gets deposited in the walls of the blood vessels. Certain conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and sedentary life style promote this. Other causes for narrowing are stenosis and vasculitis. When a blood clot tries to pass through a narrowed lumen it causes an obstruction to flow. Sometimes the damaged vessel may develop a clot at the site of injury.
Avatar n tn Can I have a heart attack during the test? I have tremendous pain when I climb even two flights of stairs! This discussion is related to Highly questionable use of the Persantine/Thallium stress test in this patient?.
Avatar m tn An angiograph of vessels can be done with a cathode or CT scan. There shouldn't be any fear to have a cath angioplasty. There is medication that will reduce any and all anxiety...the patient experiences nothing of any concern and almost always recovers within a day or so with no side effects. With cath, the cardiologist can do a stent implant during the procedure. With a CT scan, there is a possibility of stent implant cath procedure subsequently.
Avatar n tn One the exams is with an otolaryngologist. Since my blood vessels must be constricted and also, consequently my nose bone must be dead or wasted. My question is: are they going to find out trough this exam that i took cocaine or is there any other reason why my nose might be damaged?
Avatar f tn So I woke up this morning and my left eye has all sorts of busted blood vessels in it?!?! When I looked in the mirror my thought was WTF is this mess lol. I didn't do anything to it, haven't been getting sick to cause it, haven't rubbed it...has anyone else had this? I'm 30+2...it's sore and if I shut my right eye it's kinda blurry.
Avatar m tn Now there is more blood flowing through wider vessels, the heart has to work a lot harder to deliver it. The heart will squeeze faster, and it will also pump more regularly (increased heart rate). Fear is a similar system in the body, it prepares the body to run or fight. You may hear many people say "time slowed down" when they were involved in an accident or trauma.
976897 tn?1379167602 I always thought there was a sensor at the base of the brain somewhere which reacts to the acidity level of blood, giving an idea of whether we should breathe faster or slower. But what actually tells arteries to dilate and in particular areas of the body?
Avatar m tn I understand that it normally takes many years for significant build up to occur from high cholesterol, but I fear that i may have been going too high on some days.. Do any of you think that this warrants getting some tests done? I had an episode the other day that I believe may have been a panic attack. It didn't happen suddenly, but over time I think I scared myself into having those symptoms. I can't afford tests at this very moment, but looking for peace of mind.
Avatar n tn If you take a flashlight and look in back of my throat on one side it looks like I have a dark colllection of blood vessels in one spot the other side is a little dark in same area. I did have my tonsils out like 10 years ago. I went to urgent care center that doctor said he couldn't see it but I can. They did a strep test it was negative.
Avatar m tn I've looked online and all I've been able to find is that time will make my blood spots go away. But I've had these spots for years and my left eye just seems to get worse. I've spoken with a few eye doctors and they've just given me a quick "there's nothing you can do about it" and that's it, never with a real explanation!

The more important concern is whether the heart pumping function is abnormal - this is more of a determinant in whether you have a cardiomyopathy (pathological enlargement). Avatar f tn For almost a year now, I have experienced a cluster of red blood vessels on the surface of the pinguecula on one side of one eye only. This bothers me because it is always very red and I often get asked if something is wrong with my eye! I have went to a couple eye doctors and my last one I visited gave me some steroid drops which worked and shrunk the blood vessels but they came back about an hour or two later.
Avatar n tn For the past year I had what looks like broken blood vessels/capillaries on the roof of my mouth. Some days the sides of my mouth and the uvula and throat area look really red too. I have been told by an ENT that I have reflux could this be the cause of the broken vessels? They just don't get any better. They don't hurt. I know that sometimes I have reflux symptoms that are worse than others.
Avatar m tn They will not charge you for this service because you gave them a pint of blood; they have to know your type of blood,so they can give it to someone else. Start with simple solutions, then go for the pharmaceuticals if you need them.
Avatar n tn I often have busted blood vessels in the whites of my eye (that are visible), but I have never had my superficial vessels to bust. Since I have hypertension I know the normal busted of blood vessels are from this. But I am worried, can a brain tumor cause your superficial blood vessels to bust or is it also from hypertension.
Avatar f tn I had a brown freckle removed from the white of the eye for cosmetic reasons. I decided to go through with the surgery because all my life I avoided eye contact with people because the freckle was so ugly. The redness in my eye following surgery is calming down bit by bit, but what im wondering about is the blood vessels. Where she made the excision, there is a small thin line that's fading more and more every month.
Avatar m tn I googled the question regarding its effect on blood vessels and got unclear answers such as "...caffeine constricts blood vessels to the neck and brain." While others wrote that... "...Caffeine does cause vasoconstriction in smooth muscle tissue, but only for a brief period of time before the caffeine signals a significant vasodilator effect." So what is the "final" answer? Thank you.
Avatar n tn She was very impaired from her alcohol usage and it caused a lot of issues with blood vessels. She lost a lot of usage in her legs, and she had strokes and lost vision. Her personality declined and changed - she used to favor me and then started to not like me. I don't know about the sobriety - my mom never reached that, but alcohol does a lot of damage. But if your dad was sober I would guess he had another disorder going on. As for you, you cannot worry about what may or may not happen.
Avatar n tn I have been back for second opinion and he also believes that I have excessive dilation of the blood vessels around my eyes. Is there any treatment for this? I can't do any exercise as my eyelids become inflamed all the time.
Avatar n tn s not really a big deal, but if you could tell me why the blood vessels in my eye keep bursting without me doing anything, that would be nice.
Avatar f tn Hi Beth - Welcome to our group. It's important to know whether it's blood vessels or nerves that are showing signs of damage. If it is blood vessels then it's not MS. MS attacks nerves in the central nervous system. As Alex said, damaged blood vessels can cause neuropathy (unexpalined nerve pain), as can things like migraine and diabetes.
Avatar m tn An erection involves your brain, nerves, hormones, and blood vessels. Anything that interferes with either of this can lead to erection problems .Stress, fear, anxiety, anger all can lead to erection problems. Repeated feelings of guilt, doubt, poor communication with your partner all can lead to erection problems. Intake of medications like beta blockers, antidepressants, and diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, and multiple sclerosis all can lead to this problem.
338416 tn?1420045702 It is silly to counsel people to avoid blood vessels. The reality of blood vessels is, although we can know the location of almost all very large vessles, the matt of tiny arterioles is fairly random. They are where they are and they are too small to be seen. In ANY injection the very tip of the needle may come to rest within the interior of a small vessel. It is a random event. It is true that when we see blood entering the tip of the syringe we should probably re-angle it slightly.
Avatar m tn 1st thing is that I have too many broken vessels on my penis... I mean my blood vessels are swelled too much and it looks really bad. I heard that I should have gotten my penis take a rest for 1 or 2 weeks after having such a bad shafts. Can I remove all those shafts burst really seriously? 2st thing is that I have a problem with erection. It can be erected but still not enough. Does it have something to do with blood vessels I said above? or with my psychological matter.
