Avatar m tn Yes grappling is similar to wrestling . It is unovaidable that during the heat of the sport abrasions and cuts happen, I guess similar to any other contact sport. Players are not tested over here as we go to a private gym and not a professional setup. Its the fact that theoretically blood can contact my skin thats really worrying me. Plus the OCD is not really helping!!! Thanks for your advice though, I really appreciate you sharing some of your experiences with me.
Avatar m tn i see that u posted to the doctors....wise to follow up with Dr.Hooks advice to see ur regular doctor.
Avatar f tn Could you tell me a little about you’re experiences, I hope I am not freaking you out or something, I just am trying to gather as much useful information as I can to get a sense of what kind of product I could create for these children?
424839 tn?1268186246 Such a person, when faced with a problem, tends to think, "I know I should take action, but it will be very difficult." When it is time to act, this kind of person tends to turn away. Someone who perseveres will rise to the challenge however, determining, "It will be very difficult, but I must take action." Often the biggest obstacle in meeting life's challenges is actually our own fear of failure. But it is not failure that we should fear.
Avatar n tn That feeling of falling and the pressure on the side of your head could be an inner ear problem or possibly a vision problem. My advice? Go see an EENT. These don't sound like anxiety symptoms but I can see how putting off going to a doctor about the problem could create anxiety. What do you think you should do?
1541714 tn?1293092267 I have to have an Ovarian Cystectomy for a tumor of about 10cm big removed from my right ovary. The doc says he may also have to remove the ovary depending on the extent of the damage. My problem is that I'm absolutely TERRIFIED of the procedure and recovery. I know everyone gets scared and you just have to do it etc... but since I've found out I have not been able to stop thinking about it.
Avatar f tn About your symptoms, ARS is the first stage of an HIV infection, is the body’s reaction to the infection. Some HIV positive people, but not all of them, reported that around 20 days after their exposure they had fever, sore throat, rash and flu (not cold) like symptoms, all of those came together, or within a few days of difference and lasted for a few weeks. As you see, the same symptoms are present in many other illnesses and not everyone had them, so, we can’t rely on them to diagnose HIV.
Avatar m tn Second, approximately how long will reduction or cessation of drinking take to bring the AST down? Third, my Bilirubin is 0.4 (normal), so, should I still fear Cirrhosis which i have no way of knowing if I have, or does the normal bilirubin give me some comfort?
595125 tn?1219834270 What you descrive is a panic attack when you have this intense fear, then you become afraid of the fear and so on until it becomes a vicious circle. You came to the right place! You should browze a lot of these threads as you will quickly see that you are not alone in your fear and anxiety and you will perhaps learn from how others have coped with it.
Avatar f tn Finally, if and when you ever are pregnant, make sure your ObG is aware of this history, to assure precautions to prevent neonatal herpes. The risk is low, but not zero and icommon sense precauations are, well, common sense. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn I noticed a strange puffiness of the skin on the head of my penis, especially around the urethra (not for sure, but possibly noticed this most often after urinating or ejaculating). There was also one instance earlier this month when I had little cuts on my penis (right under the head, where my hand tends to come in contact with it), but have no idea whether I caused those myself or not. They healed within a couple of days.
Avatar n tn No one at the blood bank will tell me why I cannot give blood. Isn't protocol to call the donor to explain, why? Especially, if I am infected with a disease such as HIV.
Avatar f tn Have you ever been tested? You may already have hsv1 and not know it. Most people with hsv1 never get a cold sore. Ask your doctor for a type specific IgG blood test. I don't know how often you mean, but he might want to talk to his doctor about suppressive therapy if he's getting them that frequently. (That's for his benefit, not just yours.) Unfortunately, if you don't already have it, there is no way to "prevent it completely".
Avatar n tn I had this blood drawing fear coming out as I saw bunch of possible hiv carriers who were drawing blood in front of me and the nurse had touched me with the same fingers she had done the blood drawing for others.....so, i'm really worried about it too.
Avatar m tn I was with an escort a few week back, exactly 18 days back, and after the encounter, two days later i felt a stinging pain which later converted into a constant itching for at least two weeks non stop at the head of my penis, mostly at the opening of the penis. till than i was not sure what was going on, i was tested for any infections but all came clear. later on i kept on reading a lot of threads on the web and saw an STD called herpes that can cause such an issue.
7753764 tn?1401853590 t worry until they put you on bed rest and give thr steroid injection for the lungs. That tends to mean they expect you to deliver in the next week. I went into preterm labour at 34wks due to preeclampsia and a tummy bug and they said it was ok to let it happen. Otherwise I'm sure the antibiotics for the uti will settle things down. Remember to stay hydrated.
Avatar m tn Stiffness and pain in my neck along with the disorientation and dizziness combined with a headache are what brought me in the first time. After a panel of blood-work and a CT scan of my head both of which came back clear, the shrugged it off as a headache and sent me home. The next day the pain and disorientation returned. The night was completely sleepless, up and down every 5 to 10 minutes. Warm milk, hot shower, hot bath, nothing helped me sleep.
Avatar f tn ve had it impounded in my head for so long or if I truly have the desire to go. I find the idea of living in the city to be exciting and adventurous. I love the tall buildings, history, crowds, and all that comes with living in a big city. Last month I had found the perfect apartment. It was a little too far uptown in Manhattan than I would like but I could deal with that.
3113038 tn?1391626218 Agreed... it's time for some therapy. I'm no doctor so I cannot offer any help, just opinions. I just want you to take a second and look at this sentence from above. "I've decided to forgive my friend and be in a relationship with my boyfriend because I KNOW there is no sexual relationship between them.
Avatar f tn You're correct that it's not EASY to transmit. You've had repeated unprotected exposures, so the truth is, you had a real risk. 7 times isn't great, but it isn't awful either. The ONLY way you're going to know is to test, which you need to do ASAP, as you DO have to consider your wife and child. Very best to you, let us know how it works out. Hopefully you will be okay!
Avatar f tn to me the fear is of the unknown and i find this is true with many folks. it is a lack of control that is frightening. as u go thru tx u will begin to get a sense of what it is like for u. the fear for me was mostly an early symptom. i stayed close to this forum and voiced questions as soon as they came up. the answers came day and night and were hugely comforting. better than a direct line to my doc!
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage last year where the embryo quit developing around 5 weeks and we didn't realize it until I had an ultrasound at 9 weeks. I had to wait a week to have another one to see if the embryo developed more. Unfortunately for me it didn't. Hopefully your baby is okay.
