Avatar f tn There are many causes of pink eye. Follow-up with the ophthalmologist. You may need to change the antibiotics or find out why it recurs. Dr. O.
Avatar f tn He will prescribe antibiotic eye drops or sometimes an antibiotic gel to squeeze on the inside of the lower lid of the affected eye. You only treat the eye that has the infection. Pink eye is highly contageous. Do not share your towel with anyone. Do not let any one else sleep on your pillow. Wash the eyes separately with a cotton wool soaked in cooled boiled water and wipe from the centre outwards. Another name for Pink Eye is Conjunctivitis.

223173 tn?1189755826 s when I saw a tinge of blood on his pillow, w/c came from his infected eye. We called his doc but we were told not to worry as long as he has no change in vision, headaches or seeing a ring of light around the objects that he see as those can be serious signs of neurological problems. He woke up this morning and the bleeding was gone. I'm not sure if the visine caused further eye irritation which led to the small bleeding or a small leakage of the sensitive blood vessel walls.
Avatar f tn Yes!!! I already bought 2 of them and I'm not due until august. They are amazing and they sell covers for them with different designs. The pillows are about $40 and the cover which is two-sided deco is about $10. I actually bought the pillows that has the pink flower design and I bought a cover that has pink cupcakes on one side and sprinkles on the other side. They're great whether or not your breast feeding.

223173 tn?1189755826 Thank you for the very quick response. What could cause the bloody discharge, then? I just hate seeing blood and I've been scouring for information about bloody eye discharge with pink eye but I could not find any information about it. It definitely doesn't look like a subconjunctival hemorrhage or something.
Avatar f tn Dear Miss_Cox, Any type of drainage that is thickish yellow/and or green is usually sign of an infection. If this is a film covering your eye, it could be "pink eye" which is highly contagious. Just for precaution, whenever you touch your eye, be sure to wash your hands before touching anyone else in household. You definately should be seen by a dr. They have special lights that can look inside, to see if your cornea is scratched, or if you have an infection.
Avatar m tn They said I had a severe Gas Pocket- but it never goes away- and there is audible rumbling inside of abdomen- I can't sleep on the left side- or the gas pocket goes up behind my heart and I will experience sharp pains- so I turn to the left side- with a small pillow under my abdomen usually- and just painfully try to force myself to burb and fart all night- ...
Avatar f tn The eye was getting pink on the lower half since the end of December. It has since gone away. After looking up possible diagnosis on the internet, it does not show white spots as part of the above-mentioned conditions. What causes the white spots.

Avatar n tn I would discard all make-up that touched the eye...such as mascara, eye liner, eye shadow...thats what I do everytime my eye flares up, well the eye liner, I just sharpen down, and I use new brushes for the eye shadow, just incase the bacteria got into the make up...to prevent further contamination.
Avatar f tn Hello Doctor my son is 2.7 years old and two months ago he had pink eye and I still have the ofloaxcin solution that doesn't expire until 08/13.
539780 tn?1213943976 If you put triple antibiotic ointment (neosporin) on the outside of your eye (the lid where eye shadow goes) before you go to bed at night it will be much better in the morning and sometimes healed. Do this for 1-3 nights depending on how bad your eye looks and if it is matting (sticking together after sleeping).
1503643 tn?1311518238 I was recently exposed to pink eye from my nephew. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma. I do not have any symptoms and am practicing standard precautions. Do I need to worry about this? I am staying at his home for 3 1/2 more weeks while taking a class 12 hours away from my home. Should I stay somewhere else until he is cleared up?
Avatar f tn My 9 month old had pink eye about 2 weeks ago. Her pediatrician gave her moxeza to treat it and it cleared up quickly. I did continue the medicine for 7 days as directed by her doctor. This past Thursday I woke up to swollen, itchy, red watery eyes. I assumed that I got pink eye from her so I started to take her medicine. My eyes are slowly getting better. They are no longer itchy and I do not have anymore discharge. However, they are still red and under my eyes look swollen.
Avatar f tn It takes a few days to contract pink eye after exposure. So it depends on the day that you would have touched yourself and stuck your finger in your eye not necessarily counting from the day you had sex. I doubt that it is from your encounter since the sex was protected and it is not likely to get pink eye from oral sex. At this point I would wait a few days to see if the antibiotic they gave you works on the pink eye.
Avatar f tn This is my personal opinion and its that family MDs should not put people on steroid eye drops because they can't examine the eye with a biomicroscope (slit lamp) or take the intraocular pressure and are generally unaware of conditions that contraindicate using steroid like H. Simplex. Plus your optometrist already used "anti-inflammatory" which usually means steroids.
Avatar f tn It is called conjunctivitas and is an eye infection will need an anti biotic cream. Put this Question up on the Doctor Forum they will tell you more.
Avatar m tn She said I had the bacterial type of pink eye and gave me a prescription for Tobramycin. I used it for seven days and had about 50% improvement, but the infectipon was still present. I went back yesterday and she put me on three days of prednisone --6 pill therapy and a new prescrition for Tobramycin for six more days. If this doesn't work--what are my options? I have read that Tobramycin can cause kidney damage. Are their other drugs to use?
Avatar f tn Hi, I noticed on my 3 month old kitten that the area around her eye is pink/red, swollen, and watery. She doesnt seem to be in pain but she is rubbing it every so often. I'm wondering if it could be pink eye? Please help!
Avatar n tn My son, 3, and daughter, 2 in April, both have what I think is Pink Eye. We have not seen our Ped., since its Sunday, but they did call in an eye drop. My question is, how long is the gestation period, just so I can warn who we've been around. Also, whats the best car for the eyes. Should I leave the gunk on the eyes (since it's a fighting battle) or wash it all off. Should I take Lysol to everything?
Avatar f tn The next day, my eyes were almost the same except with added infections of drainage and unbelievable swelling to the extent that my eyesight was blurry and almost unbearable. I went to a physician and was prescribed some eye drops for pink eye but it has already been about four and a half days and I don't see or feel any improvement. I have also avoided any places with bright lights and haven't touched my TV, computer, or any electronics untill now.
Avatar f tn If I do have it and it can transfer in saliva what about when I'm sleeping with drool on my pillow as I'm a Hugh drooler, any chance of spreading it from pillow to my eye? Or when my child lays on my pillow with me while sleeping?
Avatar f tn My eye is killing me right now and I am going to the doctor 1st thing in the morning :-(
