So there's my story. I will give you as much details as I remember. I haven't had story of cold sore in my life. 5 years ago, I was with a guy (my boyfriend of the time). He didn't performed oral sex on me, but I had performed oral sex on him. We didn't have sex together. One day, it appeared 1 vesicule on each side of the labia minora (entrance of the vagina).
I've suffered from multiple outbreaks of oral (Type 1) HSV for years. When I started prophylactic treatment with acyclovir, I saw a reduced occurrence for a few months, then they came back to about 4-5 outbreaks/year. I recently switched prophylactic medication from acyclovir to famciclovir, and had a 18-month period free from outbreak. Come yesterday, I had another terrible outbreak (worse than usual)... will these become more commonplace now? Is this a sign of HSV-resistance to the drug?
One week prior to taking my hiv test i took Famciclovir for shingles would this interfeer with the results?
There are 3 antivirals (oral medication) generally prescribed for treating HSV. These are Valtrex/valacyclovir, Famvir/famciclovir, and acyclovir. They require a doctor's prescription.
There are also several topicals that you can get over the counter. Some of these are Abreva, Releev, and Dermoplast.
In addition some people use natural remedies such as honey, which has been found to have antiviral properties.
I have had oral sex with my partner who has Genital Herpes 2 and I thought we did everything 'right' in preventing it being passed on to me. He hasn't had it for some time. During intercourse i started with a condom but it eventually became unprotected in the latter part. I also performed oral on her. My mother brother and sister all have oral herpes but none of them have had any recent outbreaks, and I haven't recently interacted with any of them besides my mother. Welcome to the STD forum, in transfer from the herpes forum. The bottom line is that almost certainly you do not have HSV; and if you happen to have either HSV-1 or 2, you did not catch it during the lap dance.
HSV (eitehr HSV-1 or 2) is not be transmitted by the sort of contact you describe. Oral herpes can be acquired by kissing, but that's not the issue here.
Recently I developed little spots on my penis head, which are spreading over the whole head now . Thinking it was chlamydia or herpes I took 4x azithromycin 250 caps and 2x famciclovir 125 tabs. That night I went I the shower. I had a huge rash covering my whole stomach , above my groin and the inside of my thigh . It was very noticeable and pronounced . The next day it was gone. But the little but on my inner thigh was still there.
A week after contact I started experiencing numbness and an odd sensation on my fingertip. I immediately started famciclovir the next day (8 days post potential exposure) My finger still feels numb/ slightly cold/ very mildly swollen with red spots and hyperaensitivity at the tip (havent been touching anything with that finger) which is 1.5 weeks. I got a fever a few days ago which was 1 week after I felt potential symptoms and 2 weeks post potential exposure.
How were you diagnosed as having ocular herpes and whitlow?
How common is it to have such an infection other than oral or genital. Could I have auto-inoculated myself? If it is HSV1, will it reoccur often? The recent outbreak was the first “real” outbreak I had, that is the first typical cold sore. Six months ago I had several blisters on the inside of my lip. A PCR swab at that time came up negative. I have not had any potential exposure since June.
If my sore is not HSV related can you speculate what else it might be.
A week ago i got some painful lumps and swollen glands on my genitals, my GP said it was caused by simplex herpes virus, i was given a medication famciclovir after a week of taking it i has gone better. I insisted a blood test to be sure of what virus i got. Results came out positive on HSV 1 but is being negative on HSV 2..

0.1% idoxuridine eye drops applyed to the affected eye 6 times per day long term. This is an eye drop that can be made by a compounding pharmacy.

Just 1 week before sexual exposure, I had finished taking Famciclovir 250mg for HSV-1 outbreak. And it cured.
After 123 days(4 months) from last risky sexual exposure and 130 days from FAMCICLOVIR completion, I took HSV2(IGM and IGG) test and it turned out negative. I did not got any symptoms on genital area.
Can I consider this as confirmatory for HSV-2 in my body?
Should I need to go for more test? if so when to take the test? It is 4 months now completed from risk.
Im still very unsure of wether sex with a condom will still allow transmission?, can i have oral sex done on me without passing it on and if i start the suppressive therapy, how much protection does this offer my partner. Ive recently started dating someone but so far only kissed. I want to share this info but in a way that i wont scare him but also inform as honestly as possible. Up until ive really struggled coping with it but i dont want to hide away anymore.....gets lonely!
Do oral and genital herpes occur at the same time sometimes? Meaning if ive had oral herpes since i was a child, and what i suspect is my first outbreak of genital herpes, why are they occuring at the same time?
If i really am having genital herpes, is it possible that the first symptoms are occuring 11/12 weeks after exposure. Symptoms are discharge, itching, red blister.
