I felt like I needed to have a bowel movement, but then this feeling came over me like I was going to faint. Everything was looking sort of black. I had to hold on to my husband or I would have fainted. He got me to a chair and he told me later that I was cold, clammy and very pale. I went into the restroom but could not go. On the ride home I started to feel better but still having cramps feeling. Within the next 2 hours at home I had three Bm,s that filled the bowl! Sorry to be so blunt.

after i have a bowel movement,intense pain shoots up through my rectum and i get spasms in my colon.the pain continues as i break out into sweats and get pain while urinating too.it hurts so bad i can't move.it lasts for a good hour.i can't figure it out.could this be part of IBS or part of endometreosis?
in my stomach. At this point, I run to the bathroom for the showdown. While waiting for the bowel movement, my temperature begins to increase drastically to the point of sweating. I usually try to make attempts to lower it, and always end up stark naked. By this point I'm right at the verge of passing out - the world is starting to fade away and my vision is going white.
fainting while trying to pass stools is due to blood pressure, its common in the elderly and in fact some elderly people die straining on the toilet due to this problem. its known as the valsalva (sp?) manouvre. i think its what elvis prestley died of. not sure about the vomitting, expect thats more a bowel.stomach prob. but u should get ur heart and bp checked out at the gp.
Were you sitting and bearing down attempting to have a bowel movement? That can cause your heart to slow down and not supply enough blood to your brain. If so, visit your medical provider (not an emergency) and see if she feels some further testing is indicated.
If you were standing there is a broad range of possibilities, perhaps you stood up to fast, possibly dehydrated, BP was low, a recent change in medication...If it was a single incident, mention it to your doctor at next visit.
Sometimes, during the urgent bowel movement, extreme nausea (i sometimes vomit after bowel movement). usually, after the movement of substance out of my bowels, the nausea stops. it seems as if the actual movement of substance THRU the bowels causes nausea in my stomach. any suggestions as to other options? i tried logging diet and bm for a month and found no clues as to dietary causes. thank you so much for your time.
I am 41 years old, when I go to have a bowel movement I have been fainting, vomiting, breaking out in sweats, my lips turn almost gray and they go numb, I am not constipated and it literally takes the life out of me, it takes at least 2 days before I am feeling like myself . Does anyone have any idea why I am doing this.
My father-in-law "suffered from" defecation vasovagal syncope for more than 30 years, beginning around age 50. His trigger was a lower abdominal cramp, associated with urgency to defecate. If he were home, near the bathroom, he might get to the toilet, only to faint when another cramp, or wave of cramps would occur. He may or may not have have had an actual bowel movement.
One of the main symptoms is the frequent urge to have a bowel movement. In my case it is usually after meals. My question is what to do during these times, especially when I am in a situation where I cannot immediately get to a restroom. Is it better to stop what I am doing and find a place to have a bowel movement or try and take my mind off it and wait until a more convenient time?

end up having a bowel movement- It seems that after the bowel movement I start feeling better- I often drink a Gatorade after due to the light headed feeling- and the rest of the day I feel tired & just not myself. Is there anything that could be causing this? It is very scary for me & has happened while out in public. Any information would be greatly appreciated! I also want to note that the pains in my lower abdomen are not always that intense.
