I just seems like the skin on my face is flabby and when I am laying down on my side my skin kinda hangs to that side, but it is really noticeable. I also have the crazy wrinkle under my left eye because I lay mostly on my left side when I sleep and it has caused a crease under that eye that just stays there.

Avatar m tn Or as you suggest, some other broken facial bone is doing this. It's costly to surgically fix those sorts of things. But the reason it might be the nose, and yet you feel it in your cheek is this: The nerves to the side of the face come from one place, seems like it's called a Trimengal Nerve or some similar spelling, it's located about an inch in front of the ear.
Avatar n tn I have never used recreational drugs and the only Rx I've been on was Effexor, which I stopped taking. I don't have mold or spa chemicals. I've never had facial surgery. I've was in a car accident & had chiropractic treatment but nothing recently or coinciding with these symptoms. None of the other "suspect" causes seem to fit for me either. My family dr. did say that it is possible that it could just be migraines.
Avatar n tn I am not suprised that you are freaking out 3 weeks post-op, but you have to realize that a facelift isn't merely slicing a few strips of just skin. You have had your skin separated from the membrane that attaches it to the muscle. You make it sound like your surgeon excised some muscle along with the skin. If this is the case, and you are 3 weeks into the healing process... DO NOT attempt any kind of theraputic exercise. It isn't a good thing.

Avatar m tn Hi: I had open heart surgery at the beginning of the year. I am on many medications including blood thinners. I am a 55 year old male. I have been getting a lot of broken capillaries on my face. My internist said he wasn't sure if a dermatologist could help as most of the capillaries are very small and the lasers only work on the larger facial capillaries. I asked him about medicine and he wasn't sure. I would appreciate if anyone has a suggestion. Thank You!

Avatar n tn 35 YO mother of two - have always had very clear skin with little problem with pimples or blemishes. Been on BC pills since a teenager (save for pregnancies, of course.) Good diet, non smoker, light alcohol intake, regular exercise, good weight, etc. etc. etc. No medical problems. Except..... For the last year or so I've been getting what seem to be cysts forming on my face: large bumps forming under the skin - almost always in same place each month, usually starting a week before my period.

Avatar f tn When treatment is needed the most common options are non-prescription drugs which cause the skin to be saturated with water. Eventually the skin peels away taking the virus particles with it. Moist patches are another option, and these are placed over the affected area for 48 hours at a time. Success depends on the size of the wart and the depth of its growth. Flat wart remedies may take up to three months to work.
Avatar m tn The goal was to identify “specific components of facial ageing” that were affected by smoking. Scores on several measures of facial ageing were significantly worse for the smokers. The smokers had more sagging of the upper eyelids, as well as more bags of the lower eyelids and under the eyes. Twins who smoked also had higher scores for facial wrinkles, including more pronounced nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth), wrinkling of the upper and lower lips and sagging jowls.
Avatar n tn Bells palsy refers to a facial nerve (CN 7) damage that causes a facial droop. The facial nerve supplies a small area of skin sensation also around the ear (but not the cheek) The cause is sometimes associated with a herpes virus infection but in most cases a direct cause is not found. Steriod and an anti-viral medication given in the first 2 weeks of the symptoms has some benefical effect. Recovery may be slow, and up to 1 year.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have experienc with laser, electrolysis or other related facial hair removal procedures. I recently read and entry in Dr. Peter Gott's column regarding a woman who had used product called Hair Block, which she got from CosmeticLabSales.com to help remove unwanted facial hair. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with over the counter products like this vs. having surgery or undergoing potentially painful experiences.
