Avatar m tn The surgery site is very close to #9. last week, a CTScan shows that the bone on the facial part of #9 , the volume decreased a lot. I am wondering if a bone grafting could improve facial bone on #9? #9 is a very healthy live tooth, endodontics test shows the nerve is alive. if bone grafting the facial bone on #9, what is the successful rate? which kind of risk I might have?
Avatar n tn If the birthmark is too large to close by direct excision and primary closure, then consideration would be given to excision and skin grafting. However, excision and skin grafting may result in the appearance of irregular skin just line a grafted burn wound. The return of the birthmark may not be a problem.

Avatar n tn In some treatments, doctors can cure it completely through medicines, while in other cases, they try to make it stable and once stable, they complete the procedure with a surgery such as grafting . I too did undergo a similar surgery last year and seem to be pretty ok now.. ; So, do consult some other doc if your current treatment is not working out and has been on the trial for quite some time, atleast for one or two years.
Avatar m tn My suggestion would be for you to find out all the costs involved of removing the implant, bone grafting, placing a new implant and crown. I would have you call the dentist who did the surgery and ask him/her to spend some time with you going over the new treatment plan. Explain to them your actual costs and listen to what they have to say.
Avatar n tn I'm very concerned. I had an implant that failed, it was removed and I had bone grafting, then I had another implant surgery. The bone and gum on the out-facing side of the implant receded and a good portion of the implant is exposed. It was recommended that I have gum surgery prior to having the crown placed on the implant because so much of the implant is exposed - it is very ugly looking.
Avatar m tn I met with an accident 3 years back, i had a scar on my forehead almost half my forehead, at that time doctor has done skin grafting i.e taken skin from my thigh and pasted it on my forehead, now again that doesnt get improved, so kindly suggest me what i need to apply so that it can get improved.
Avatar m tn About a month and a half later, my bone rejected the bone grafting and a cyst formed on my outer gums as well. The surgery was redone to remove the bone grafting and the apicoectomy was performed again a bit further down the root structure to avoid any further damage to the tooth. The external cyst was removed and the area was stitched up with no bone grafting in place and a I was sent home on antibiotics.
1926971 tn?1682474897 Latest Cardiologist advised me that Grafting surgery is very problematic and overly expensive . EECP was required with Life style changes. Please advise what's best as B(negative) blood group being very rare along with diabetes could be very hazardous and I was also told me that EECP would reverse PAD blocks as well/or form collateral arteries. Help sought. [Scans in Profile Photos] Except for the first no cardiologist has suggested surgery/Stents or bypass surgery.
1780509 tn?1314626205 The only treatment is removal by surgery with/without skin grafting (depending on the size of the lesion) or use of laser (CO2 Laser). It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Avatar m tn When the area of skin that is lost is large, the skin does not grow back on its own. Also any cuts only heal by scar tissue. Skin has to be replaced by skin grafting. Pease consult your PCP and if it is indeed scar tissue you will need to consult a cosmetologist for skin grafting. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn I am 24 years old and was referred to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction. All four wisdom teeth are impacted, the top two have erupted through the skin, but the bottom two have not come through yet. The oral surgeon informed never once mentioned bone grafting- until I got to the counter and the recptionist was putting together the treatment plan- and then it was mentioned that it was recommended to have bone grafting done after the extraction of the bottom two wisdom teeth.
Avatar f tn Hi, im 16 and considering facial surgery, im not sure wether i can have it a 16 though? im particularly interested in blephoplastry surgey (if i spelt it right) for my upper eyelids, i have quite a lot of loose skin above my eyes, and they make my eyelids go downwards, and ive noticed in the light at the end of my eye on the upper eyelid there are lumps of skin on both eyes, and a roll of skin if im just relaxing my face. do you think it would be neccessary to get this surgery?
452314 tn?1209596780 Having second opinion, we still had the same advise so we decided to have it done. Grafting or surgery was to be done last December, 2007 at our government hospital over here but when everything was ready, the doctor to perform his surgery said there was no need as it was not that serious and was not bulging. I was just wondering how this happened when the person who told him there was no need was also the very same doctor who told him that he needed it. Can you please enlighten me here.
Avatar n tn The buccal mucosal (roof of mouth) graft would only be needed for severe cases where the face of the skin is just too damaged and tight that it cannot be stretched any further. In your case, the simplest repair involved tucking and tightening the lower lid but again, if skin is too tight to tuck or tighten, then some new tissue may need to be added from somewhere else. If possible, it would be nice to try avoid grafting - but only your surgeon will know what is best for you.
Avatar n tn The new process of grafting without a thoracotomy? Nerve grafting for diaphragm paralysis verses plication? I am searching everywhere for a solution to my problem and would greatly appreciate your views on these procedures! Thanks again!
Avatar m tn They cause no harm, but can increase in size producing cosmetic blemish.
