Common Questions and Answers about Facial skin care

Avatar f tn Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin. Other treatments to consider include microdermabrasion, skin resurfacing lasers and chemical skin peels. In my opinion you should discuss these treatment options with a cosmetologist/dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn my facial skin seems to slightly wink uncontrollably around my left eye, what does it indicate? is there something top worry about?
Avatar n tn Hi, Removal of chicken pox scar depends on several factors such as the depth of the scar, body response and the length of the scar present. The usual recommendation is to moisturize with vitamin E rich creams and procedures such as microdermabrasion or laser treatment. There are many products in the web that claim to be effective in removing scars and keloids. However, before making a decision to use any product, make sure that they are all natural and are registered with the FDA.

Avatar f tn Are there health risks to leaving skin dry (besides increased irritation). I want my skin to do it's own maintenance to the fullest, showering daily, moisturinzing/exfoliating to minimal amounts (conter to some esthetic beliefs). Please can I have a general overview of skin growth/die off and sloughing/dehydration, moisturizing, how many times a day to wash, tone moisturize. Do oily areas need moisturizer too?
2065676 tn?1331426040 I'm not entirely certain what your question is however I can only say I *wish* it didn't matter what we put on our skin topically and only mattered what we ingest however there is no way to predict either and it is quite often both. Having said that, I have had a few irritations here and there and while I can't exfoliate as often because my skin is not exactly as resilient; there is no way I could ever not exfoliate.
Avatar m tn I went to the dermatologist in November and he diagnosed me with seborrheic dermatitis and gave me ketoconazole cream 2% and hydrocortizone, now the thing is I didn't really make the point of how tight my skin gets (it feels like I'm wearing one of those facial peels) and figured the medicine would take care of it which wasn't smart and the medicine hasn't helped.
Avatar f tn The last several months my facial skin has been turning darker, it stops at exactly my jaw line. It looks like I ahve on too much makeup that stops at my jaw. What is causing this and how can it be corrected?
Avatar f tn I wash my face with warm water to wash off the dead skin cells , then mosturise , but i dont know if this is just dry skin or an actual skin condition that requires medical advice. After i wash my face the area above my eyebrow leaks and is sticky? I dont know if this is my natural oils or not. Even after i moistuise it , it leaks and looks like little water droplets on my skin? I do not use things like face washes that aggravate my skin , its just really dry.
Avatar m tn Then thought to be dermatitis and now using anti fungal hydrocortisone, with slight improvement. However skin is still red and lumpy under the skin. Any thoughts, please and would you think exposure to sun is going to effect the condition? Difficult for a lady , but can be slightly disguised by make up.
Avatar f tn After searching I have not been able to find facial moisturizers that contain NO alcohol. Does anyone have any recommendations for facial moisturizers (day and night) that do not contain any alcohols? Also, any suggestions for a great long-lasting lip moisturizer that does not need to be applied every half hour? Or a really good hand lotion that also contains no alcohol, and is long-lasting? Thank you for any tips.
Avatar f tn This morning I woke up and my facial skin was red, tight, puffy and somewhat itchy. I have racked my brain as to what caused this reaction. I ate a "curry in a hurry" processed vegan burrito, which I've never had before. This is the only thing different that I can think of. No change in medications, laundry soap, body soap. I do have allergies to cats and shellfish. It is now 6:15 pm and the symptoms have improved slightly, but still present.
Avatar f tn Apart from some rapidly growing facial hair around the chin and lower cheeks area, as well as very dry skin in the same areas, I also noticed that any skin irritation (ie if I plucked a hair) takes a very long time to heal and leaves a scar. I use calendula cream every night, but it only helps partially. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Avatar m tn While I don't have cystic acne or anything as serious, my skin is very red and has chicken skin-like patches on my cheeks and around my nose and eyes. My skin is very rough, making it look dull (and terrible if i attempt to wear makeup and/or sunscreen). My cheeks have flesh colored pits and bumps that never seem to go away, regardless of the acne products I use. Is there a way to make my skin smoother and more uniform in texture/make it not as dull?
Avatar m tn I also have a mild eczema behind my ears which ive had for years but it only really pops up every now and again and is easy to get rid of (usually by moisturising the area for a day) The dakatcort only helped once then after it made the skin much worse and made my skin flush for months, Elidel didn't do too much but it gave me burning sensations below the eyes and protopic so far hasn't done much apart from make my skin flush a bit on the face and make me quite heat sensitive.
