eye swollen when i wake up

First off, I have CM1 (decompressed already), got hydrocephalus (had a VP shunt put in), got intracranial hypotension (my shunt was draining to much, so my brain started sagging), and found out I have Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (which they put a valve in my chest to slow down the drainage), and I have a syrinx. I woke up with the left side of my neck hurting a few days ago (like I slept wrong). It hurt to turn my head to the left, so I've been stretching it.

I never experienced this situation before. When I wake I have difficulty opening my eyes. The feel like they are stuck and won't open. I need to put eyes drops to make them work. It started about 3 weeks after I had my cataract surgery. I was instructed to use Durezol anti-inflammatory drops which I continue to use and need to continue for another 4 weeks according to the doctor's instructions.

For the last week I've woken to a red swollen left eye{lid and under eye.} What can I put on my eye to relieve the itch and help the swelling? This must be some reaction to face wash or under eye cream but I'm confused because I haven't changed products.

For about 2 months now i have experience an severe case of dry eyes in both eyes as I wake up from sleep. I started out with conjunctivitis for about 2 weeks. After I recovered from that then this is when i started having problems opening my eyes after waking up. Sometimes I experience pain because of inflammation due to the extreme dryness of my eyes. I kept asking God what could this be and so i started doing my research on the internet and so forth.

Im a long time member here...49 yr old female...diagnosed with PACs and PVCs about 19 years ago...of course Ive had every test except cath over the years,always told they are harmless...to manage my stress level, etc...I have high BP, and am on meds for that...Enalapril & Metoprolol...plus cholesterol meds. So..I thought i knew allll there was to know about palpitations. But Ive been having something happen the past week that ive not really experienced before.

For the last week my eyes have been swollen both top and bottom when i wake up, but through out the day it goes down a bit and then occurs again when i wake up in the morning. i was wondering what could be going on ?

Ok ladies I'm 39 +3 weeks pregnant and I'm not too concerned but I am alittle about my swelling yesterday I swelled up pretty good in my feet and hands usually I only swell in my face after I wake up. I didn't drink as much water as I could of yesterday so I'm thinking maybe its cuz of that. I'm drinking as much water as I can today and I'm still kinda swollen in my hands and if I'm up to long the swelling bothers my feet all the way up my ankles and part of my leg.

I wake up in the morning with the area around my left eye very swollen. And my eye is slightly "teary". I've been told by and eye doctor that I have allergy eyes, but I've tried allergy meds. and they do not seem to help. And why is it only my left eye? The swelling goes down a little during the day, but settles in a bag and my eye. It looks awful.

Hi- I know this has been a while, but I was just wondering if you had found any answers. My double vision started about 3 years ago after I too suffered a semi breakdown. I had a bunch of tests for other symptoms & nothing came back. They gave me Xanax for my anxiety- so I assumed it was that. My symptoms come & go, but now I notice when I'm tired I get dizzy (along with ringing in my ears) and sometimes when I wake up I'll have temporary double vision.

I was wondering if there was any kind of mucous disharge with the eyes when you wake up? I ask because I had similar problems , it turned out to be allergies,. I also get styes in my eye, but they either hurt or itch and you would know that!! Hope you get relief soon!

The doctor prescribed glasses for computer and reading since I am nearing 40 and he says that it seems to be eye strain, but I am not convinced. My eye hurts the minute I wake up and does not get better when I am not reading or working on the computer. I have been getting headaches behind this eye, and have now started to feel pressure next to my nose (sinus?) Some days are worse than others, but seems to be getting worse overall. I go from hip to hip and i have major pressure and pain when i get up...im 29w2d...

ve had a weird thing happen in the mornings. When I wake up, like when I open my eyes for the first time in the day (or sometimes at night if I get up to go to the bathroom), I'll see a ring of light, or almost an orb of light, for a second or two, and then it goes away. I often wake up with a large, swollen eyelid. This has happened for over a month now. It alternates between both the left and right eye, top or bottom eyelid, and sometimes even both. Why do men wake up erect and ready to go? When I wake up in the morning, sex is the last thing I am thinking about but my BF always wants a little action. I don't mind it but it takes me a while to get excited and he doesn't seem to need anything to get in the mood. Just wake up and ready to go. He is very considerate and good at it so it's nice. He is 51 and I'm 48 but we both look younger than our age. Neither have children so no stress there. Anyone have any ideas?
