swollen

1737159 tn?1316672635 hi, my son is admitted right now in the hospital because the upper right eyelid of his eye is swelling so bad,. It started as a small reddish bite last saturday which I suspect was an insect bite, I just disregarded it but it grew big until wednesday, I went to see his pedia and it was already cellulitis, he was given an antibiotic (amoclav) which I expect would help the swelling but the swelling became bigger and bigger.
Avatar f tn If I stay in bed with a cool mask and apply pressure to my eyes for 15 min. before I rise the swelling almost goes away completely and the mask usually ends up very wet from the fluid that comes out of my eyes. Besides the eye symptoms I have noticed that the skin on my lower lids no longer bounces back if I pinch it. It stays in place for several seconds before flattening out. It is difficult to put any type of undereye coverup on because the lid just stretches.
Avatar f tn just keep an eye on it and personally the first time it gets difficult to pull off id switch the set to a necklace or just put them away till the baby is born to keep from running the risk of having to get them cut off
Avatar n tn I decided to go to a clinic because I had a large local reaction, it had migrated to unstung area, and it was near the eye. If it is in the eye or by the eye, go get it checked. Phone nurse told me to go to emergency within 4 hours, but I told her I wanted to try clinic first. Doc said from a scale of 1-10 my swollen areas were an 8. He suggested that insect allergy shot but said it was not absolutely necessary since I did not have wheezing, hoarseness, trouble breathing, etc.
Avatar n tn My problem started yesterday morning. I put my contacts in as I always do (have used the same contact solution for about two years now) and my eye started burning very badly. It finally stopped after alot of watering so I continued to wear them throughout the day. I took them out that evening and noticed my eye was really irritated and kind of tender on the inside.
Avatar f tn Did any bodily fluids from the person you contracted it from get in your eye? There are mucous membranes in the eye which can facilitate the infection there, so yes you can definitely get the infection in the eye. I'm not a doctor, so I cant speak to whether the current antibiotics will cure it.
605914 tn?1243622344 I went to an Opthamologist and he said that there might be a chance that I might have some swelling in the nerves around the bottom part of my eye. He took a picture of the back part of my eyes and told me to come back in 6 weeks. I go back on July 13. He took the picture because I was having some color difference in my eyes and was getting headaches more and more. He said he would take the pictures again at my next appointment. My question is what happens if it is swelling?
Avatar f tn ) besides on weekends when I usually only have them in for 8hrs. I never had any eye irritations, until now. The inner corner of my right eye, like the pink part that touches your eye, where the morning gunk usually is, is very itchy, and kind of hurts every time I blink. I don't know what to do, and when wearing contacts I use a solution to clean my contacts, like the drops. I'm not allergic to anything that I know of, though I have never taken a test.
Avatar n tn During the night quite often and in the morning and usually just the left eye but sometimes in the right. Just wondering if you have tried anything that helps or have found out any new information!
Avatar n tn I used to have symptoms like blood shot eyes, and pain in the eye in the morning. The cure I found was to buy a really good humidifier for my room and treat my eyes with eye drops whenever they start to feel dry. The problem has gone away, and I am convinced, that at least for myself, that was the problem. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn It feels like someone poked me in the eye and can take about 10 tp 15 minutes to feel better.
1448921 tn?1287789632 t covered every chapter, so maybe there could be something relevant ... ?? Off the top of my head, though, the only eye-related stuff I know of in the autonomic texts is on pupillary dysfunction. Can't hurt to double-check though.
Avatar n tn Some people may have significant vision loss, and treatment with high doses of corticosteroids given intravenously may hasten visual recovery. Papilledema is the swelling of the optic nerve as it enters the back of the eye. Important causes of increased pressure from cerebral spinal fluid and papilledema are brain tumors and brain infections, eg. brain abscess, meningitis or encephalitis. A significant proportion of people who are diagnosed with brain tumors have some evidence of papilledema.
Avatar f tn I thought it was just allergies since i have terrible allergies when spring comes, or probaly from me playing with my dog and touching my eye. But this morning as i rubbed it to stop the itch, my eye felt weird. I looked in the mirror and notice the corner is a little swollen. Also i notice when i pull down my eyelid i see like this idk what to call it i think its part of the eyelid that holds the eye, it is also a little swollen . . .
Avatar n tn I was accidentally elbowed in the eye about one and half weeks ago. There was no swelling , redness of the eye or pain, just a soreness. Went to see an optometrist after 4 days as the front of the eye was tender when blinking. Also, the upper cheek was slightly numb.
Avatar m tn Someone was throwing a letter in an envelope and it hit my friend's left eye. The white part of the eye has gotten all red and he is in pain. It hurts to open the eye. Not sure if it's related but the left nostril is stuffed and runny. He's been using an eye wash and systena eye gel drops but not much improvement. He also took some advil about 2 hours ago The incident was about 4 and a half hours ago. Should he have it examined by a doctor?
Avatar n tn I got into a fight and got punched in the eye, it swelled up and got a black and blue eye. after a while the swelling went away and the bruising is fading. I noticed that my pupil won't constrict when exposed to light. will this fix itself or am i going to be stuck with a dilated eye like David Bowie ?
480510 tn?1208217001 I woke up yesterday morning to a very swollen left eye; my upper eyelid, around the outer corner, and part of the area just below my eye. There is a small area, a little smaller than a dime, that almost appears to be a dry patch that is pink in color. I put an ice pak on it and the swelling went down, but the spot remained. This morning I woke up and my eye wasn't as swollen, but it was moderately puffy. I put it on ice again, swelling went down, and spot is still there.
Avatar n tn I wake up in the morning with the area around my left eye very swollen. And my eye is slightly "teary". I've been told by and eye doctor that I have allergy eyes, but I've tried allergy meds. and they do not seem to help. And why is it only my left eye? The swelling goes down a little during the day, but settles in a bag and my eye. It looks awful.
Avatar m tn I immediately iced it. The swelling in my cheek quickly decreased. the entire area has been tender. now there is faint bruising in my lower cheek, and in my temple. The pt of contact (during punch) on my temple has a hardened area of scar tissue that can move when i touch it (not connected to bone).this are is the size of a large kinda flattened grape. within several hours i had an increasingly swollen and black eye. for the first 48 hrs my eye was so swollen i could hardly open it.

Avatar n tn When I woke up this morning, lifted my head and looked out my bedroom door into adjacent living area, I wondered why the outside porch light had gone out during the night because the area was dark in the morning predawn hours. I laid my head back down, closed my eyes and looked again and saw the light from the porch filtering in and noticed the light had in fact been on.
Avatar n tn I was informed that I had a ruptured blood vessel in my eye, which caused the redness, pain and the watering in my eye. I did not, however, have any swelling of the eyelid or anywhere else near my eye. They prescribed antibiotic eye drops to prevent an infection, as I found that regular eye drops REALLY burned when I put them in. This may or may not be your problem.
Avatar f tn For the past three weeks, I have been having trouble opening my right eye upon awakening in the morning. I've read most of the posts on this site about this problem so I just have a few questions. Does this mean that my left eye will eventually suffer the same fate? Should I use the same eye drops in my left eye even though it is not a problem yet? Is this a “rest of my life” problem?
7791645 tn?1394292401 keep an eye out for migraines, pain in upper belly (more right side) swelling, and if you have a raised blood pressure, just to be on the safe side could be pre-eclampsia, i never got morning sickness in the first three months i suffered more after 20 weeks and a slow develop of those syptoms which i then ended up with sevre eclampsia my baby was delivered at 31 weeks 5 days so just make sure to tell your midwife/doctor and ask for a blood pressure check to ease ur mind, good luck hope it goes
Avatar f tn Happy new year! Don't know if this is a big deal...I woke up this morning with red/irritated right eye. I had been prone to allergies when I was younger, so was not concerned until I noticed in the mirror that the right corner of my eyeball was swollen and seemed like it was being "pinched" or "squeezed" by the eyelids when I squinted. No problems with vision.. I wear contacts but had not put them in yet. Eye burns, so I have been keeping it closed.
