613536 tn?1294238447 I think my daughter who is 7 weeks old might have an eye infection. She has a yellow discharge coming from her eye... is this an infection? Will she need a trip to the doctor or is there something I can do to relieve it at home?
Avatar f tn My son had an eye infection from birth do you think it's related if I had chlamydia and didn't know it ? My husband might have cheated on me during my pregnancy, i'm not sure.
Avatar f tn Do you believe there is anyway that I could have acquired Clamydia through the incident that I described to you in my previous post here. I am scared that I may have a clamydia related eye infection. Do u think its possible from sucking on balls and licking feet like I previously described?? Please help.
Avatar m tn I was wondering when HSV-1 becomes just a cold sore and not a devastating infection for babies? I understand encephalitis can occur in adults, but at what age can an infant be exposed and usually be ok?
Avatar n tn The only advice I can give you is to continue to keep an eye on this and take him to an ENT DR. Look for signs of speech and language regression, when talking to the child do you find yourself talking louder than usual. Does the child like to watch t.v with the volume high. cover your mouth when specking to the child, can he understand what you are saying. Start writing down how many ear infections he is having.
Avatar m tn Yes that would be one way of getting the bacteria from a strep throat or infected throat into your eye. The azithro should help but there isn't much data that says that if you take oral meds it will clear you eye up versus eye drops right into the eye that contain an antibiotic. So, if it doesn't get better then I would see an optometrist or opthamologist to make sure you don't have an eye infection. Usually, they clear within a couple of days to a week.
Avatar n tn She has an infection on her pupil and around the cornea. The hospital have been very good with her they have taken pictures every day and are comparing the images daily and it is improving .She can now see her fingers moving and the other day could make out that her boyfriend had a blue top on.She has now been discharged after a week of hourly drops.Everyday she has to put in 1 drop twice a day, 1 drop every hour 6am til 11pm also cream at night and she is still on oral antbiotics.
Avatar n tn My right eye has been itching on the inside corner pretty bad thse past several days. It also seems to be "leaking" water or is it water? is it something else? I honestly can't tell. I need to keep a tissue handy. It is not painful but somewhat uncomfortable and I need to keep soaking, whatever it is that's collecting in there, out of my eye. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn Based on the description shared by you the common possibilities are corneal abrasions, corneal infections, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, any foreign body in the eye. These all can cause a sore eye and watering from the eyes. Conjunctivitis due to allergies or infections either viral or bacterial is the commonest cause of red sore eyes, itchiness and discharge. It is best to get your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist and only after a correct diagnosis treatment can be started.
Avatar n tn my left eye is stuck in the corner by scar tissue so my right eye is my primary eye i usai tried eye drops and over the counter remedies i read on line but when i wake up my eye is hard to open because of the crust the accumulated during the night. I am alsso betwen jobs and for the first time in my life i have no health insurance.
Avatar m tn But if this is a sign of infection why did the doctor only prescribe for the right eye? Is it dangerous to have redness in the eye?
Avatar m tn Hi nightrunner21, Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
Avatar n tn An opthlmologist has told me I do not have an eye infection. He says the discharge is just mucous. He has not seen it. A GP has told me that the monoctye count is not significant. A naturopath has told me that monocytes indicate inflammation and not infection. She has prescribed fish oil. I believe I have acinetobacter infection in my eye sockets. Please help me figure this out. Thank you.

Avatar f tn Hello. My name is Kay and for some time now I've been feeding this semi-feral/stray cat. I am concerned because she has an eye infection and I don't even know if her eye is still there. I don't know if I can post a photo. I do not have the funds to take a stray to the vet. It has been suggested to me that I take her to (or call) animal control and let them handle it. I refuse to do so because I know the first thing they will do with this sick kitty is euthanize her.
Avatar f tn The eye cream is put on there eyes to prevent pink eye and just in case they might have catched any bacteria from fluids in vagina or rectal area during delivery!!!!!
1413519 tn?1281818201 This has happened before, possibly 2 other times in the past 10 years. Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye.
Avatar n tn i have pus coming out of my right eye i have had numerous sergurioes and my left eye is stck by scar tissue so it is mr right eye i primarily use. i tried eye drops and over the counter rememides I read about but its stll there.
Avatar n tn I recommend you go see an opthamologist (an eye doctor, not one who prescribes eye glasses) to get it checked out. You could have a simple infection, or it could be a sign of another medical condition that you'd want to know about, such as Lupus or Sjogren's.
Avatar n tn Second often the problem is not an eye infection but a different problem such as an allergy or immune releated eye problem or dry eye. My suggestion would be to see an eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea and external disease.
Avatar n tn my 11 year old step-son eye is swollen and red is there any eye drops that i can give him
Avatar n tn i have no tear duct in my right eye and seem to get eye infections easily the outer corner of my left eye is so itchy and sore i have never had the outer eye itchy what could it be?
Avatar f tn Babies eye colour can change up to like a year after they are born most are born with blue or grey eyes.... Brown is a more dominant gene seeing as it's just your mum with brown eyes I'd say your baby is likely to end up with blue or green.

Avatar f tn I took him to the doctors as i found another lump on the back of his neck. She said he has swollen lymph nodes caused by the infection but the one on his rib is in a funny place but there is nothing to worry about?!
281603 tn?1229311681 I'd try going to the web md site...not sure if it is allergies or an infection or what...I find the web md site to be helpful when trying to figure out what something might be and whether or not you should call the doc.
Avatar f tn I have had a lump on my left caruncle for about two months now. I've gone to two eye doctors, the first one just said it doesn't have any signs of infection and recommended warm compresses and those didn't help at all, the second prescribed me steriod eye drops which also haven't really been helping. The mass changes from looking very red and shiny to pink and like it's dried up.
