Does anyone else get offended by jokes that people always make about STDs, particularly herpes? Since I just got diagnosed with herpes I find them very offensive now. My question is should I be offended? And why do people find herpes so funny?

I just re read the list, you can clean your contacts with it, cure an eye infection, unclog a stuffy nose, get rid of the itch on a bug bite, stop the pain and speed the healing of a cold sore, like I said above it helps acne and boosts immune system :)

In the patient world. doctors are not know for being sweet people, I have a nice doctor now. In this firm, 2/5 doctors are nice. The iother one who acts nice is very controlling, also/ The first one I had was sadistic. He knew that I was terrified of losing my eye. Surgeons whose patients' eyes are in danger do not make jokes like that right befor surgery. He would say a lot of awful things with a smile of his face.

You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.

Hi nightrunner21, Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!

i have pus coming out of my right eye i have had numerous sergurioes and my left eye is stck by scar tissue so it is mr right eye i primarily use. i tried eye drops and over the counter rememides I read about but its stll there.

I recommend you go see an opthamologist (an eye doctor, not one who prescribes eye glasses) to get it checked out. You could have a simple infection, or it could be a sign of another medical condition that you'd want to know about, such as Lupus or Sjogren's.

An opthlmologist has told me I do not have an eye infection. He says the discharge is just mucous. He has not seen it. A GP has told me that the monoctye count is not significant. A naturopath has told me that monocytes indicate inflammation and not infection. She has prescribed fish oil. I believe I have acinetobacter infection in my eye sockets. This has happened before, possibly 2 other times in the past 10 years. Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye.

I've heard ppl that are bipolar sometimes have changing eye colour. I've noticed with me, my eyes seem greener when I'm in more of an "up" mood. When I'm really depressed my eyes have more blue/grey in them. I have kind of goldish/brownish around the centre as well. I just wondered if that means anything. I'm waiting for the official diagnosis of my mental issues. I'm hoping I'll find out in July. A few ppl I've spoken to think I'm bipolar.
