Chalazions in toddlers occur in two forms, the "internal" variety and the "external" variety. I have two toddlers, 2 and 3 years old, the past couple of weeks they have had these blistery bumps on the buttocks area. I got a corneal ulcer/bacterial infection from sleeping in my contacts. It was horrible I was on fortified antibiotics(vancomycin & cephazolin) unable to work and in an IMMENSE amount of pain. it looked like i had a sweet in my mouth but thismorning i woke up and the swelling has reached my left eye and my glad in my throat is also sore i have been told by family that it may well be an abcess. i know i have to vistit the dentist but with 2 toddlers and a partner in hospital its imposible to vistit, whats the longest time i can go untreated before it gets serious.

This could be a yeast infection or even heat rash. Make sure that her pants are not tight and rubbing up against her. Try feeding her yogurt which will help if it is a yeast infection. Make sure that she is wiping from front to back and cleaning well, because sometimes this can cause irritation. Also make sure that after baths, she is completely dry before getting dressed. You can get corn starch and place in her pants to help with chafing.

I am just looking for some opinions. I have been doing lots of research in hopes of helping him in the interim year that we are waiting for an appt. and we do have another appt with the ped next week. I have also gotten him into a clinic that is funded by the Autism Alliance for an evaluation by them...although it will not be an official diagnosis it will help sort some things out, I hope. If it is just when he is sleepy, then that is something I have seen in other toddlers.

my concern and confusion is his eye contact. He seems to look in the eye more from a distance, but when on my lap or just close to me, he will only watch my mouth. If I cover my mouth, or direct his attention to my eyes by pointing at them he will look. He has no aversion to looking at eyes and if I say “where’s mummy’s eyes” he will point to them and look.

My son is getting attached like crazy he has to be in the same room with me or he freaks out. My MIL told me to shower with him and let the water from my body fall on him i know it sounds weird trust me I thought she was joking but I did it and he's a lot calmer now. Of course i shower with a bikini since my son now asks about why I don't have the same privates and daddy does. Just try it and see if it works.

You may have infected your eye from the throat infection and it might be cleared by the Azithromycin if it is the same organism that is causing the problem. But usually they give you eye drops for an eye infection that have antibiotics in them, so I'm not sure if the oral med will care of the problem. You could also have an allergy, virus in the eye or have accidently got something else in your eye. Try eye drops and if it doesn't clear up in a day or two then see an eye doctor.

It is very unlikely you have an actinobacter infection of the eye. So I would agree with the ophthalmologist you saw. 3. If the eye problem contineues see a cornea/external eye MD specialist.

Now its january 22 and i see progress but in my knowledge eye infection can last atleast 3 weeks and i can still see redness in my eyes but i dont know if its due to my running nose and cold. i have no tear duct in my right eye and seem to get eye infections easily the outer corner of my left eye is so itchy and sore i have never had the outer eye itchy what could it be?

i have pus coming out of my right eye i have had numerous sergurioes and my left eye is stck by scar tissue so it is mr right eye i primarily use. i tried eye drops and over the counter rememides I read about but its stll there.

Second often the problem is not an eye infection but a different problem such as an allergy or immune releated eye problem or dry eye. My suggestion would be to see an eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea and external disease.

my left eye is stuck in the corner by scar tissue so my right eye is my primary eye i usai tried eye drops and over the counter remedies i read on line but when i wake up my eye is hard to open because of the crust the accumulated during the night. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye.
