infection

Avatar n tn i have pus coming out of my right eye i have had numerous sergurioes and my left eye is stck by scar tissue so it is mr right eye i primarily use. i tried eye drops and over the counter rememides I read about but its stll there.
Avatar m tn Yes that would be one way of getting the bacteria from a strep throat or infected throat into your eye. The azithro should help but there isn't much data that says that if you take oral meds it will clear you eye up versus eye drops right into the eye that contain an antibiotic. So, if it doesn't get better then I would see an optometrist or opthamologist to make sure you don't have an eye infection. Usually, they clear within a couple of days to a week.
Avatar n tn Second often the problem is not an eye infection but a different problem such as an allergy or immune releated eye problem or dry eye. My suggestion would be to see an eye MD ophthalmologist that specializes in cornea and external disease.
Avatar n tn 1. A naturopath has no standing inn the scientific community. Most scientists and MDs think that are cultists. My opinion also. Discount what they said. 2. It is very unlikely you have an actinobacter infection of the eye. So I would agree with the ophthalmologist you saw. 3. If the eye problem contineues see a cornea/external eye MD specialist.
1413519 tn?1281818201 This has happened before, possibly 2 other times in the past 10 years. Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye.
Avatar m tn Hi nightrunner21, Both gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the eye, but it's true that you could have a viral eye infection not related to a STD. Other STDs can infect the eye, too. You need to go visit with a Eye MD (ophthalmologist) so that these can be ruled out. Syphillis and HIV need to be checked off the list, too. Best of luck!
Avatar n tn I will send you some links to information, some areas offer help with Vet bills when you cannot afford to pay for. But I will add most Vet clinics will offer a payment plan to help with the costs... your kitty will loose the sight or even the whole eye if left untreated...I do hope you will find a way to get to a clinic for some treatment asap. or surrender the kitty to a local shelter where it will be taken care of....hard I know but this kitty really needs this eye to be treated and very soon.
Avatar f tn Do you believe there is anyway that I could have acquired Clamydia through the incident that I described to you in my previous post here. I am scared that I may have a clamydia related eye infection. Do u think its possible from sucking on balls and licking feet like I previously described?? Please help.
1152576 tn?1306134757 Puffiness of one eye is usually due to a localized cause like infection, abrasion of cornea, foreign body in eye, maxillary sinusitis of same side, lacrimal gland infection, infection of hair follicle of the eye lid etc. Both eyes can become puffy in sinusitis, upper respiratory infection, conjunctivitis or due to fluid accumulation due to heart/liver/kidney problem. Please consult an eye specialist. Take care!
Avatar f tn I am at my wits end. I have been getting eye infection after eye infection for over a year. At first I went to my regular doctor, then my optometrist and now an ophthalmologist. At first they were every 3-4 months, then monthly, and now they are occurring two weeks apart. Ophthalmologist thought it was my contacts but I've been wearing them for decades with no problems. I switched to dailys anyway and got an infection a week later.
Avatar n tn my left eye is stuck in the corner by scar tissue so my right eye is my primary eye i usai tried eye drops and over the counter remedies i read on line but when i wake up my eye is hard to open because of the crust the accumulated during the night. I am alsso betwen jobs and for the first time in my life i have no health insurance.
Avatar n tn I recommend you go see an opthamologist (an eye doctor, not one who prescribes eye glasses) to get it checked out. You could have a simple infection, or it could be a sign of another medical condition that you'd want to know about, such as Lupus or Sjogren's.
Avatar n tn Based on the description shared by you the common possibilities are corneal abrasions, corneal infections, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, any foreign body in the eye. These all can cause a sore eye and watering from the eyes. Conjunctivitis due to allergies or infections either viral or bacterial is the commonest cause of red sore eyes, itchiness and discharge. It is best to get your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist and only after a correct diagnosis treatment can be started.
Avatar n tn my 11 year old step-son eye is swollen and red is there any eye drops that i can give him

Avatar n tn i have no tear duct in my right eye and seem to get eye infections easily the outer corner of my left eye is so itchy and sore i have never had the outer eye itchy what could it be?
Avatar m tn But if this is a sign of infection why did the doctor only prescribe for the right eye? Is it dangerous to have redness in the eye?
Avatar n tn You should go see a cornea specialist who could check your tear duct as well as the eye itself for signs of infection first. Taking the systemic fluconazole may get rid of the fungus in the eye as well as the ear (if it works). I wouldn't necessarily take antifungal drops without having a significant problem in the eye to make it worth it. So do get a good exam by an ophthalmologist to help you decide.
Avatar m tn It sounds like allergies, a possible sinus infection, a possible ear infection or maybe all 3. Have you been to see your Dr yet?
Avatar f tn Can anyone help? My left tear duct is swollen and red, and so is the eye lid.
Avatar n tn For two months now, I've been being treated for an eye infection (both eyes). It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
613536 tn?1294238447 I think my daughter who is 7 weeks old might have an eye infection. She has a yellow discharge coming from her eye... is this an infection? Will she need a trip to the doctor or is there something I can do to relieve it at home?
Avatar n tn I have a ringing iin my ear because it is plugged up my nose is stopped up and one of my eyes is swollen? which is annoying what can I use? will omnaris spry help with the inflamed eye?
