Avatar f tn While qi-gong, tai chi, and yoga are nice to do, none are meditation. Tai chi is slow motion kung fu. It's a martial art requiring great concentration, and sure, concentrating hard on something crowds out other things, but it isn't meditation. Many tai chi classes or groups do meditate a bit after working out, but like yoga, it's hard work. Qi-gong are just warm-up exercises, again, not meditation.

Avatar f tn I was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes. However I was only 2 points over the cut off which was 53. I was at 55. Its not that bad for me besides all the extra precautions that are taken at the doctors. I have ultra sounds on every visit and am required to test myself once daily, in the am.This is an imbalance which moves you to create a balance in your diet. That's the good thing about it.

Avatar f tn Totally agree with Hava. Read my previous post about Medical Qi Gong, and I am NOT taking any meds!! I have HF for 10 ten years or more, arrythmia etc... and finding now, that somehow its possible to physiological alter cells and DNA doing some type of meditation and medical Qi Gong, by a reputable practitioner. look up Ayurvedic medicines, which is mostly compounds from fruits and vegetables, 60% actually, and 40% from herbs, roots, barks, etc..
Avatar m tn Yoga comes with meditation and without, and the vast majority of yoga in the US is for exercise, not meditation. Qi-gong are just warm-up exercises before you do tai chi or kung fu, and again, while they're good to do and fun and a great way to start a day, again, they won't really do anything about a genuine anxiety disorder. Mindfulness, on the other hand, just might help, but to learn to do it correctly you should really learn it from a meditation teacher.

Avatar f tn I started seeing a naturopath that is helping me with my symptoms of fatigue/low energy, brain fog, insomnia and acid reflux. I did a saliva test which showed that my cortisol levels are pretty high, and I'm now taking supplements for adrenal support. I had 3 acupuncture sessions, and I've seen some improvement. The naturopath also said that I have a spleen and kidney qi deficiency. Is this type of qi deficiency common?
1588890 tn?1297073916 There were times before this last round, that I went to Chiropractors and they seemed to help, especially my neck, but now that it is broken, many will not see me. I thingk massage therapy or some Qi Gong would help as well, but the lack of insurance and funds make it almost impossible, I have tried to continue with my Tai chi and it helps so much. I now do what I can sitting in a chair (due to balance issues). I would much rather take the homeopathic route.
Avatar n tn Additionally, Aloe Vera juice will also help. Start drinking chamomile tea to help soothe your nerves. Activities like Yoga, Qi Gong, and T'ai Ch'i will help. (I find that full contact martial arts in general help, because they help get out some of that stress.) Finally, consider getting psychological help for your anxiety. (I DON'T recommend taking psychiatric drugs.) I highly recommend finding someone familiar with the Dabrowski theory of positive disintegration. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Eastern philosophy however specializes in this. Eastern philosophy developed Mindfulness Meditation, yoga, Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi, Falon Dafa, and other similar mind and body exercises. By practicing Mindfulness Meditation for a few minutes each day, you can strengthen a part of the brain known as the Anterior Cingulate. Avatar n tn I am stage 4 and did 12 rounds of carbo and taxol eventhough no sign of cancer after my hysto. I have chosen to stop all chemo and now doing acupuncture 3 times a week, refexology, reiki. I take loads of vitamins, juicing, supplements, enemas and Reishi mushroom (did it all during chemo as well) . I believe in keeping my immune system strong, think that chemo attemps to keep the cancer under control but it's my immune system that actually fights the disease.
628714 tn?1268238196 s journey as a year ago I would have thought that anyone believing in stuff like Qi Gong healing and Reconnective healing were absolutely bonkers. Because of my illness and the NHS giving up on me, so me needing to either take the pills or sort myself out, I'm on a journey I would definitely not have taken. So - look on the positive side of life - no matter how difficult it is! Oops - rambled on a bit. Cheers. Graham.
